Alex Knight's *Hunted* is a captivating thriller that takes readers on a relentless, edge-of-your-seat ride. The story follows Jake Ellis, a San Francisco police officer who finds himself thrust into a nightmare when his girlfriend's daughter arrives at his door, covered in blood, claiming her mother is hurt. Before Jake can process the situation, he receives an Amber Alert on his phone—and he is named as the suspect.

What follows is a desperate race against time as Jake tries to clear his name and uncover the truth behind the abduction. Knight masterfully weaves a complex web of twists and turns that keeps you guessing until the very end. The pacing is relentless, the suspense is palpable, and the stakes are incredibly high.

One aspect that sets *Hunted* apart is its strong character development. Jake is a flawed but relatable protagonist, and you can’t help but root for him as he fights to prove his innocence. The supporting characters are also well-drawn, each harboring their own secrets and motivations.

Knight's writing is sharp and evocative, painting a vivid picture of San Francisco and its surroundings. The action sequences are particularly well-crafted, making you hold your breath as Jake navigates dangerous situations.

*Hunted* is a must-read for fans of thrillers. It’s a gripping, fast-paced story with a shocking twist you won’t see coming. If you're looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this is the one for you.

Highly recommended for fans of thrillers and suspense novels.

The premise of this book sounds so intriguing, but the formatting wasn’t for me. It felt stilted and like it didn’t flow well. But other than that the plot was really good and the twists were great!

Setting you on edge from the get go, this is a cracking story with emotionally involving characters, that ensure you feel rather than read the hunt. Any book that does that is a sure-fire winner.

This is a WOW book for me!!! Alex Knight takes a killer story line and sets us up to race along with the characters as they move from one tight spot to the next, trying to figure out exactly what is happening as they go. As a police officer, Jake Ellis KNOWS he should turn himself in, but that's not what he's going to do. Someone has set him up. He must keep Molly safe and find out who shot Rachel and issued the Amber Alert that sent them on the run. There are no slow spots in this book. If you are looking for a great thriller that is different from the usual but still a GREAT read, try this one!!!

Hunted is a twisty page-turning delight of a thriller which Knight fills with disturbing moments so tense you end up with palpitations, and despite the non-stop action, I am pleased to say that the character development was not neglected. This is a tightly plotted high-stakes game of cat and mouse with more than enough going on to keep you flipping pages.

Jake Ellis, a seasoned police officer with the San Francisco PD has for some time been in a relationship with Rachel, the single mother of 13-year-old Molly. Jake loves Rachel, and is horrified when Molly shows up on his doorstep early one morning, covered in blood, and informs him her mother's been shot.

Even as he is trying to absorb what the teenager is telling him, Jake spots the Amber Alert on his phone (along with the phones of 4 million others!) informing him that a child has been kidnapped by a dangerous suspect.

The child is Molly.

And the suspect is Jake.

Realising that he is being framed, and that Molly is the only witness to the shooting - since her mother is now in a coma - Jake goes on the run with the teenager. The only safe refuge he can think of is some distance away in a different part of California.

But with a highly capable police team and a determined crime podcaster on his heels, can he and Molly make it to safety so that Jake even has a chance to figure out who is behind this?

In what is no small achievement, Alex Knight delivers a high-action thriller with a suspenseful plotline that not only stands up to logical scrutiny, but is likely to keep the reader guessing until the very end...

Wow, this book was all-action right from the word go! It sounds awful, but I kept expecting a plot-hole, just for something to not add up, but Knight pieced everything together perfectly.

Character development was interesting, even down to the secondary characters such as the woman who took Molly to hospital. I also enjoyed the angle of the blogger versus the police, certainly something I’ve not read about before.

I DID guess the perpetrator but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment; it was more of a ‘high-five, go me!’ moment!

Never read anything by this author before, but I would definitely be interested in his other work.

Thank you to NetGalley for my free copy in exchange for an unbiased review.

Unfortunately i did not finish this. the pacing was off for my personal liking in thrillers and i could not build a connection with the MC or the other characters involved.
The idea was done countless times before, and the beginning was really satisfying but after a while it became a chore with some parts of the story.

Hunted Alex Knight
I really enjoyed this book. Molly arrives at Jake's apartment in a state of panic, her mother has been shot and Molly has fled the scene. Jake realises quickly he is the main suspect, and he is a cop.
High octane action, that kept me interested until the end.
