The story continues in this fourth volume of Way of the Househusband and follows the same vein of hilarious shenanigans! Must read for anyone of the previous volumes.

The cat in this volume was extremely adorable and I hope the cat returns in the next volume. There was a lot of animal stories contained in this volume which made me feel extremely happy. I loved seeing the wife be a magical girl as well. Please continue to support this series the best you can!

There are a few manga that have been created recently that I have to buy as soon as I see it come out; The Way of the Househusband is one of those manga. It is just so freaking funny and at times relatable. It is a wholesome manga about an ex-yakuza trying to live as a househusband. Given his background, he does his best to solve all his issues not with the yakuza way, but the househusband way! I love this; everyone should read it!

I have read every single issue of this series and I cannot get enough of it. Tasu-chan is the most genuine character and I adore his adventures from a former Yukuza boss and possible hit man to a married House Husband. If you have read enough manga to fill a Library, check out Way of the Househusband and enjoy something completely different!

The Way of the Househusband is my new favorite manga, and Tatsu is totally my manga husband. This volume find Tatsu dealing with a real cat burglar, having a fun day with Miku at a kiddie amusement park, helping a friend get into the bubble tea business, doing storytime at a local book store, and much more. We get a better look at his and Miku's relationship in this volume, and there's plenty of heartwarming feels. The art is stellar, and the writing- *chef kiss* perfect! This series could so easily have been a one trick pony, but Oono handles the ex-yakuza fish out of water theme masterfully, keeping it fresh in every volume. I need volume 5 now!

The Way of the Househusband Volume 4 is by mangaka Kousuke Oono and published through Viz Media. Following the life of ex-yakuza member Tatsu, this comedy gag manga offers more humor and insight into “The Immortal Dragon” and his marriage.

Every chapter of The Way of the Househusband Volume 4 is its own vignette. This volume collects chapters 28-36. As opposed to its previous issues, Oono touches on Tatsu and Miku’s life more. I found this to be a treat because it showcases his skills as a mangaka. Tatsu shares not just comedic moments but many sentimental, romantic moments that transcend the comedy. Illustrated best in chapter 30, Miku and Tatsu get tickets to go to their local amusement park. Many of Oono’s jokes center around the concept of such a hardcore, tattooed man even wanting to do something so juvenile.

I usually do not find jokes at the expense of adults indulging in “childlike” things really funny, more so rude. However, this joke resolves to explore how Tatsu has always wished he lived a life that could have allowed him to have fun. This reveal leads them to have a deeper conversation and expressions of gratitude within their relationship. While it is Miku who is characterized as the more romantic partner in this chapter, Oono still crafts with care multiple instances of Tatsu caring for Miku from packing them lunch to taking embarrassing pictures she wants. With this chapter being so close to the start of The Way of the Househusband Volume 4, it serves as the central core of its themes of love spread amongst humor that I appreciated much more than from previous volumes.

Oono’s art is beautiful. Just that word alone feels like a disservice. His art style is hyper-realistic with stippled shading. It feels wholly unique to me as I cannot compare it to anything else I’ve read. Tatsu is handsome and it’s evident that Oono indulgences himself with his character design, whether to showcase his sex appeal or his tenderness. Oono captures Miku’s beauty in an idealistic fashion that shows readers how Tatsu views his wife. She is bright-eyed and so full of life. One thing I picked up was that Miku is drawn with a multitude of different outfits, from her business clothes to beachwear (there’s a volleyball tournament chapter). As someone who recently binged the first three volumes, the changes in character designs were refreshing. From the artwork itself, I find it so endearing that Oono takes such care in his narrative to instill how happy and healthy Miku and Tatsu’s marriage is both from an artistic and written perspective.

Some personal other favorites from this volume is a chapter where the gag is that Tatsu gets into the business of making boba and the commentary is that it’s the newest street drug. I found this particularly hilarious because boba is such a fun and addictive drink that I find myself making my own boba at home at least 3+ times a week. there is a beach chapter where both Miku and Tatsu have so much fun while also looking so steamy that I’m sure fans will be satisfied with it. Also, there are three completely over-the-top bonus chapters that physically made me grin with utter happiness.

The Way of the Househusband Volume 4 never skips a beat. Oono creates a perfect balance of comedy and sentiment throughout this volume. Being able to have more vignettes into Tatsu’s relationship with Miku, provides a vast improvement from the previous volumes where she is in the background. The character dynamics, while heightened for laughs, feel fluid and I cannot help but laugh alongside them. The Way of the Househusband Volume 4 is the best volume of this series thus far. If you are looking for light-hearted fun, be sure to pick this up.

This was fun to read. I didn't have many expectations going in so I had a blast reading this. Interested in the rest of the volumes.

Former Yakuza member is now a house husband while his wife pursues her dreams. Everything that goes on from then on are anything but ordinary. I just loved how this manga came out. Such a fun series that doesn't fail to have me busting out laughing. I loved how not everything was as it seems and how sketchy the guy was. You can certain take this guy out of the gang life but that lifestyle certain hasn't left him when talking about the simplest stuff it seems just wrong. Such a fun read highly recommend!

I was so happy when I saw that this volume was available to request on NetGalley because I had just finished volumes 2 and 3 in June. I was even more happy when I found out that I was accepted to receive the ARC. This series is one of my favourite mangas because of how fun, light-hearted, and wholesome it is.

This volume is very much like the others in the series. The chapters are scenes in the Immortal Dragon's life as a househusband and how everyone ends up misunderstanding him and thinks that he is still a gangster, when he could be talking about something entirely different. This manga will make you laugh out loud like I have.

One of my favourite scenes is when the Immortal Dragon is hanging out with the other house wives in the area and they are talking about the hardships they have to endure due to their misunderstandings. Then there's a scene at the end of the book with the point of view of the Immortal Dragon's cat as well.

This series and this manga is a lot of fun and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for some laughs and a way to chillax. Reading this manga will make your day better!

Another fun edition of this manga. I enjoyed seeing more interaction with the wife and the fellow housewives. I feel like we might need to get a bit more plot, but that may ruin the vibe, I don't know.

I read the first volume awhile ago and really enjoyed it, so reading the latest one was a blast.

Following an ex-yakuza member who has settled down and gotten married, we see his transition to normal life. It’s very episodic, with no plot arc, but if you like slice of life this is perfect.

This is absolutely hilarious to read, because of the seriousness of the his yakuza energy and focus being applied to mundane house tasks, and the dedication he gives to them. My favourite scene is the retelling of Momotaro with a gangster spin, and how inappropriate it was for children. These moments are small, but they had me cackling. We even had more scenes between him and his wife, which I always want more of, just because they work well together as a couple.

The comedy can get formulaic after awhile, but if you want a funny and quick read, then look no further.

I think my enjoyment of this series is beginning to wain. There were hints at a more cohesive plot in the third volume, and I didn't really see anything about that, or connected to that within this volume.

With that said, there are still some really sweet and funny moments throughout the volume, and it wasn't a bad volume. I just hope that the hint of a plot starts to come back.

HILARIOUS! The setup for each chapter is pure chef's kisses. I couldn't put this book down and thoroughly enjoyed this.

Volume 4 continues the story of a retired and reformed (mostly) yakuza member trying to live his best life as a house husband to his loving and hardworking wife. From buying groceries at the market to a date at the amusement park, this house husband makes the grind of everyday life feel like a fierce battle for life or death. The sprinkle of past acquaintances also trying to live the mundane life with the sensibilities of gangsters helps build the world of the house husband even more. Absolutely hilarious and perfect for anyone, especially those who have found themselves threatening stubborn stains.

Another laugh-out loud volume by Kousuke Oono!

All the jokes are as fresh as ever, and I love how we are getting to see more of his wife! I also love the chapters with his old yakuza buddies, and how scary but ridiculous they are.

But my favorite parts are when we see Tatsu, the immortal dragon, interact with children! In one chapter he reads a book to a group of kids and I almost died laughing!
