Thankyou to Netgalley, the publisher and author for providing an ARC.

This book was awesome! I loved the concepts this sci-fi tale explored and the utterly exciting adventure. The world building was spectacular and the characters attractive.

Max is doing a favor for a friend. He makes a simple run to a planet to pick up some cargo and deliver it. Sounds like easy money. Problem is the cargo is human and beautiful. Amber has know nothing but slavery. When she finds out she’s to be sold to a sexual sadist what can she do? She lies to the handsome man there to purchase her!

This was an interesting sci fi romance but there were a few thing that stood out to me. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley and the copy was riddled with typos that I ended up checking on amazon and, upon seeing I could borrow from KU, did so. But that too version also had more typos than I would expect from a finalized version being sold.

In terms of the story, the basic premise is that Max, a barely legal space shipper rescued Amber from becoming a slave to a sadistic man. But can they stay off of the slaver’s radar to stay alive? I felt like the writing was a bit disjointed although the story itself was interesting. There are triggers and situations that made me wince a bit and while I liked the characters, I did feel like character development took a back seat to the steaminess factor. There were situations that seemed manufactured to up the steam without providing a good rationale that enhanced the story line itself. Overall, I give the story a 3-3.5 brought down due to the typos.

This is an enjoyable read with good world building. The different worlds and how they treated people was quite vivid. The ending was perfect.
