I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you so much for the opportunity.
The book had an interesting premise with good writing. There is a wide range of characters and some representation. The writing is good and engaging.
However, I would have liked some more character development and more emotional bonds shown as there seems to be a focus on one thing only in this book which is a shame as there is plenty of material which could be utilised in a more complex manner.
On the whole, a good book.

Marion Husband is a very fluent writer, with excellent plot and character development, and a few surprises. These books are a treat for those who like writing about British soldiers, sailors, and civilians during the first and second World Wars, with excellent character development of gay men whose lives intersect with each other and with a few lively women.
