The Winter Garden was an adorable and comforting read as the nights draw in and winter does indeed get closer.

Freya was a likeable character and although I couldn't really relate to her love for her job, as to be honest a gardener is my idea of a nightmare job, I admired her passion and strength. I loved how the storyline bent to take her to the familiar and wonderful Nightingale Square, and I loved how her relationship with Finn developed organically, as they hit a few bumps in the road.

They both carry baggage, and so many hurdles seem to want to get in their way, but can they put it aside and develop a long lasting winter romance?

Heidi Swain's books never, ever let me down. She is a safe choice if you are looking for something warm, romantic and lighthearted with the most gorgeous settings and the most likeable characters. A great start to my festive reading season!

Unfortunately I couldn't finish this, it was just so slow and boring. I read some reviews after I dnfed that said it's one in a companion series and that explains a lot. It's also some of the things I really didn't like, like the constant focus on many, many, many side characters. So much background and extraneous information, it makes sense that it's in a series of companions. I found it really slow moving, the whole first section seemed unnecessary to be taken through it the way we were. Any disagreements were solved incredibly quickly, very low stakes with everything, everyone seemed unusually lovely and I thought the couple lacked chemistry. I don't know, maybe it's a genre mismatch for me, but I really didn't get on with it.

I loved The Winter Garden, Heidi Swain has delivered another cosy heartwarming read. There was a festive feel to the storyline with the traditional Christmas Markets, tasty delights and the Christmas decorations all play a part in bringing the Christmas spirit out in us

I am a huge Heidi Swain fan.
This is hands down my favourite of Swains books.

What a cosy winter delight this story was. I adored the characters and relationships throughout and I was so invested in their lives and character development. Freya is a beautiful soul and I just felt so much love for her.

I really enjoyed coming back to Nightingale Sqaure for this book.

Thank you Heidi for bringing us uplifting heartfelt books that bring pure joy to all.

This is a lovely cosy story which makes you feel all content and festive.

This is the third book in the Nightingale series and I've really enjoyed them all although I think this one is my favourite. It's engaging, cosy and there's that lovely happily ever after we come to expect from Heidi Swain's stories.

Typical Heidi Swain, a solution can always be found to even the most difficult of situations if you are prepared to ask for help. The garden is the work of a team ,each supporting the other and using there own skills to create the perfect community garden. Hard work but well worth it.

I love love love Heidi Swains writing!
The world she has created in Nightingale square is always a pleasure to be in.

Festive trimmings & a steamy romance you don't want to miss this!

This was just a really pleasant read.

Freya Fuller falls in love with a local garden, and upon speaking to the owner, becomes hired in order to renovate the garden in order to make it a winter delight.

We weren’t introduced to the love interest for a good 20% or so, which I enjoyed as you got to know more about Freya without the entire plot being about her falling for this man. I enjoyed the romance, but would advise that this is very much an easy going romance, with fade to black scenes for you to fill in the gaps yourself.

Not a bad read, definitely one to enjoy getting into the winter mood with.

A lovely, lighthearted read!

I loved the sense of community that the residents of Nightingale Square shared between them and how everyone looked out for each other.

I loved Freya, Finn and the rest of the Nightingale Square resident.

It was a very well written book, with a wonderful cast of characters.

Thank you to Heidi Swain, NetGalley and Simon and Schuster UK for the chance to read this wonderful book.

If you want a nice, lighthearted read then I definitely recommend this!

Freya loves her job, keeping her friend Eloise's legacy alive along with caring for Eloise's dog Nell.

When Eloise's nephew Jackson decides to evict Freya from her cottage and threatens to send Bell to the removing charity, Freya realises she needs to find a new job and new home sooner rather than later.

After hearing a radio interview about Prospect Place, Freya decides to go for a look around and before she leaves is offered a job preparing the Winter Garden at Prospect Place and luckily it comes with a house in Nightingale Square. The only fly in the ointment is having to deal with Finn the sculptor in residence.

It was lovely to catch up with the residents of Nightgale Square and as with her previous books Heidi has created well rounded characters.

This is a lovely read that could be read as a stand alone but as part of the series iit carries on the stories on seamlessly.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Another absolutely beautiful book from this author. I loved all the references to Norwich as I live in Norfolk and go there often. Such a heart warming book with a beautiful ending

A lovely heartwarming story.
This is the first story set in Nightingale Square I have read but I didn’t feel like I needed to read about the characters previously as this felt like a stand alone novel.
I really enjoyed the story and the setting of Prosperous Place, it’s not only a story I’d love but of friendships too.
A perfect read for a cosy winter night.

Another stellar book by Heidi Swain...

Heidi is an author that I have come to be able to truly depend on. I know that when I open up one of her books that I am going to be transported to a beautiful place with the most gorgeous characters and have the best of times.

This is the story that is set back in Nightingale Square and it is fast becoming one of my favourite settings in Swain's world - I love that we get to see old friends from previous books, as well as those from Wynthorpe Hall and Wynbridge!

An absolute belter of a festive book and I absolutely loved it! Roll on A Taste of Home next!

I was gifted my copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Winter Garden is a festive read set in Nightingale Square (if you want to find out more about the residents you can pick up the other books, but it doesn't impact the narrative.)
Freya is not close with her parents and has been living her independent life as she presues her dream of been a garderner. Life changes though when Freyas friend and employer passes away leaving her on the brink of homelessness and without job. So when the opportunity arises to design a Winter Garden in Nightingale Square she takes the chance.

Freya seems to be settling in well and getting used to the hustle and bustle compared the isolated environment she was used too but local artist Finn has no interest in making her feel welcome and infact has no interest in getting to know her at all. Just as the pair are starting to clash less, Freyas parents turn up and it looks like everything is going to come crashing down at first glance.

The Winter Garden was wonderful. It was festive, warming and just wholesome. I felt at home in Nightingale Square and i am looking forward to popping back. The Garden itself was so vividly described i could picture every single thing, it made me want to grab my coat, wrap up warm and explore. The Winterfest classes had me all signed up.

Freya was a lovely leading character and i really enjoyed getting to know her, she was vibrant and passionate about her work. I felt for her as she had to find her feet again but i had total faith that she would be okay. I loved getting to know the other residents too, each with their own quirks and strong personalities. It made such a well rounded novel because all the characters came to life in their environment.
