I did not get time to know the characters too much before it was over.
it all happend so fast, too fast for my liking.
The characters were okay i suppose, but nothing more.
By Heart by Marcia King-Gamble continues her great tradition of delivering wonderful reads. This book was featured as Book of the Day across my social media platforms.
This a short novella that held me captive from the beginning to the end and I recommend if you like single parents with things in common coming together.
Cyndy is the newly appointed store manager at ETC and Peter one of her sales people is having a problem with one of the customers Jacques Moreau a famous sculptor. Who better to handle the customer non other than the newly appointed store manager?
Cyndy is single mom to Eli and Jacques is a widow father to Eva. Jacques and Cyndy have more in common than they both know. They both can’t seem to take their eyes off each nor forget each other.
We have all known someone like Tanisha Shaw who works with Cyndy and is the manager of Between The Sheets and she is a thorn in Cyndy’s side. Cyndy is the nice person and doesn’t seem to let anything Tanisha does get to her even if means taking a commission on a sale that they were suppose split.
Both Jacques and Cyndy have things that they need to work out. Jacques has secrets that Cyndy wants answers to but she doesn’t really talk about with him.
Great HEA.
I received an ARC thru Netgalley and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
If you like romances with crazy drama at work with coworkers, this is a story for you. Two people, both single parents meet, and have to decide if they want to keep pursuing a relationship with all the added drama, from children with special needs, to, manipulative coworkers and overly concerned parent. Although the heroine is said to me mentioned in a previous book, I haven't read and can't vouch if it's necessary to read that book first, but this book can definitely be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed the storyline, as well as the heat between the main characters, and I will be looking for more books from this author
Cyndy loved her job and her adorable son Elijah. Although she was not pleased with the way he was conceived, it did not change her feelings about him. She loved him and took care of him to the best of her ability.
One day while working, Jacques comes in. It was not long before they both realized they were interested in one another but didn't think things would go anywhere.
Jacques was dealing with being a parent to his eight-year-old autistic daughter Eva. Jacques thought he made the right decision by sending her to stay at a facility full time, but he began having doubts.
However, I did wonder why Cyndy's mother was so bitter with her words. There were also moments when I wanted her to speak up.
Even though this was a short story, it was enjoyable. There was never a dull moment with the author's delivery.
You can expect to find drama surrounding a crazy baby daddy and the workplace.
Cyndy and Jacque's story is another sweet reminder that love does come in its own time and that you can get hurt and heal and give love again.
This is a short read and the story flows especially because Jacque is relentless in pursuing Cyndy, so at some point, you'd feel like 'too much too soon," but overall it's a sweet romantic story.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.
