10-Minute Moon Rituals is a fantastic book! The author really went into great details and I found this very informative. I am a beginner and I thought this was really nice to read. I could see even more seasoned readers would find some good information in here. Great book!

Thank you to Fair Winds Press and NetGalley for this ARC.

Short and sweet are the way that I like my rituals. Anything else and I find myself drifting off into something else. This book is well written and the rituals are easy to follow.

So, this book has two parts: the first parts about the moon signs and the second about rituals and tasks associated with each moon sign. Since I am a big fan of the moon and a capricorn moon that studies a lot lol, I had to read this one!
I've been studying the moon and each sign since a year ago but this book really summarizes the basic things. Also, I learnt about what I can do on new/full moons in each sign(I only knew what I couldn't do haha). Anddd, it's aesthetically pleasing!

Great rituals you could do - can make variations to these. It is good for those who do focus on astrology and/or work with the moon. Connecting the moon and the signs. Some info on the phases.

Absolutely loved this book! This is the kind of book I would have loved to have around ages ago. It has all the information you would want in a moon book and the perfect journal prompts for reflection. I skipped around the book and worked on each astrological sign as the moon was in that sign. I would highly recommend you do the same!

This contain practical and easy rituals/spells that can be of use. However it is astrology focused. It gives a brief description of what your aquarius or virgo moon means, and then it gives the rituals according to what sign the moon is in. You can of course simply ignore all that if astrology isnt your thing, the spells are all good enough that this doesn't make a difference.

There's also some rituals that involve deities if that's something you're interested in. Just a reminder to not deal with Orishas without supervision of an expert or things could backfire pretty quick.

4.5⭐
10-minute moon rituals delves into your natal chart to help someone perform a moon ritual that is cleansing, healing, and even bettering ones self based on their moon sign! I really enjoyed all of the different Rituals and can find them useful the the moon is rising in a differentsign! Great tools for releasing bad energy and taking in better energies! The only thing I would have liked better is more information on the horoscopes and how the moon doesn't correlate with your sign but you have to understand your natal chart. That could confuse someone who is just starting.

10 Minute Moon Rituals by Simone Butler wasn't the read I was hoping for. Right away I knew I was in for a ride when she claimed she was Wiccan "like her Celtic ancestors," even though Wicca is a new religion as of the 19th century, Being Wicca is cool, but it's not ancient.

I've read so many moon books on the market and I host workshops about working with the moon so I'm always ready to pick up new books on the topic. This book was split into two sections, one that read like a horoscope about your individual moon sign and the second on rituals for the new and full moon in each sign. The first section read like a corny horoscope and was basic to the point where it felt like it might be geared towards a younger audience, except a few paragraphs down it got weirdly sexual in each section and I felt like I was reading old issues of cosmo. I was hoping the section on rituals might save it but the very first one instructs you to use white sage, which is used specifically in closed indigenous practices and as white people we should NOT be using it at all. There are many other herb bundles we could be using at this point to not be stealing from other cultures. I feel like most of the rituals are things you can find online or in other books so unfortunately I would pass on this one. There are others out now that are more forward thinking, less sexual, and less full of cultural appropriation.

"10-Minute Moon Rituals" for me was a much needed guide into the moon and her properties. I would split the book into two distinct segments: characteristics of the different moon signs and moon rituals.

The first part was quite interesting and educational for me. As a newbie in the craft, and especially in astrology, I found the information both very curious and, at times, scary accurate. Although I didn't know this prior to reading the book, apparently my moon sign is Taurus and the information provided was pretty much spot on. I'll definitely try out the tips provided in order to avoid negative experiences as much as possible, in addition to simply trying to understand myself a bit better (which is kind of the point, I guess).

The second part was also interesting in the sense that it gave clear and concise tips what to do during different moons (when to focus on friends, when to pay attention to your health, etc.). In addition, I liked the fact that it provided some questions which anyone can answer in a separate journal and which have a big focus on self-awareness and mindfulness.

On the other hand, the actual rituals which were put in-between the tips and questions spiked my interest, but I don't think they're the easiest to perform. Firstly, they require quite a lot of materials and instruments that one doesn't just have lying around (pictures of goddesses, silver knives, large mirrors, a huge multitude of candles in different colors, as well as glass containers of candles, and so on). Sure, in one or two places an alternative was stated, such as using an invisible knife instead of a silver one, but for the majority that was not the case. Despite my best desire to try them out, I don't think I'm able to provide all the necessary ingredients. But what's more, unfortunately, the rituals also include a lot of outdoor activities and helpful friends, and, frankly, if I start going outside and lighting candles and burying things where I live, they'll probably arrest me or try to perform an exorcism.

This quick read is something I'll be referencing in the future. It went over signs in detail an also gave great examples of rituals to perform at the various phases of the moon. I highly recommend picking up this book. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

10 Minute Moon Rituals is so much more than what the title says!!! The book goes into great detail about your Moon Sign and what it means. It then follows up with rituals that are quick and easy to do.

The book is well written and researched. It was great to read. A book you will go back to time and again.

Thanks to Netgalley and Quatro Publishing for the ARC. My review is my own opinion.

This book is a great reference for astrology lovers. It goes in depth for each of the moon signs and gives rituals and journal prompts that work best depending on your moon sign. It is succinct and easy to understand and the artwork is stunning. The only problem I have is with the use of the term "smudge stick" which is culturally appropriation. Otherwise, this is a handy book.

10 Minute Moon Rituals by Simone Butler

I picked this book up as I wanted to learn more about phrases such as 'retrograde' as well as how the zodiacs affect our daily life. I did learn some really interesting facts, such as that the moon goes through 8 phases every month, and each change corresponds with a different star sign.
Some of the language is overtly spiritual. The author states that she is Wiccan, so for anybody hoping for a slightly more scientific approach to the moon and its phases, this is probably not the book for you. I am open-minded, and whilst I do not practise Wicca or any magick, I am always interested to read about those who do. Sometimes however, phrases such as: 'get in contact with your spirit dolphin' really threw me, as there had been no prior notice of this particular thing existing before. Therefore, this book probably isn't ideal for somebody who is a complete novice to the subject, such as myself.
However, I did find out some really fun stuff. I looked up what moon I was born under (a waxing gibbous moon in Virgo for anyone that cares). I also learnt the difference between a waxing and a waning moon, and how to tell which one the current moon is.
The first half of the book is just explaining what personality types people with their moon signs in the various zodiacs have. It's essentially one long horoscope, but one that you need to know the exact hour that your friend was born in order to be able to know which moon sign correlates to them.
The second half of the book is rituals you can perform when the moon is in the phases corresponding to the zodiacs. So, rituals to perform when the moon is in Leo for example. This is the more interesting part for me. As well as the rituals, there are things to look out for in your mood during this time, as well as journaling prompts for each period as well.
My one niggle of this section would be that there are only rituals for the Full Moon and New Moon included, which you only get once a month. So, for the entirety of September (this month), there is one New Moon (in Virgo), so I would only be able to do one ritual from the entire book this month.
I'm in 2 minds about whether I want to actually pick up a hard copy of this book, as I think the journaling prompts are a really good self-care exercise and it is really pretty. Overall, I feel like this book isn't for me, but it would make a beautiful gift for a Wiccan friend, or a lovely addition to your altar if you practise magick yourself.

An interesting book for those seeking to commune with the moon from an astrological perspective through ritual. The author claims to be a Wiccan as per her Celtic ancestors. Considering Wicca was not developed until the 1950’s I’m not sure how many “ancestors” you can pack in there. The book layout and illustrations are lovely but the mish mash of cultures put me off.

Book Review: 10-Minute Moon Rituals - Easy Tips for Working with each Astrological Sign to Develop Your True, Lunar Nature by Simone Butler
Genre: Spirituality
Publisher: Quarto Publishing Group - Fair Winds Press
Release Date: 8th September, 2020

Like a lot of Witches and spiritually inclined people, I have a fascination with the moon. I was eager to get started with this book and develop my relationship with moon magick.

The book is split into two sections:

The first section is a look at each of the twelve zodiac signs and explores the 'characteristics' of a person in relation to their moon sign. I already knew my moon sign so jumped straight to the section on taurus. I enjoyed reading about my 'superpowers' and 'shadows' in relation to the taurus moon. The section on 'sexual nature' did seem a little out of place (but I will come back to that later)*. I did find that I was only really interested in reading the information about the moon in taurus - as that was relevant to me. Therefore, this means that a large chunk of the book is 'irrelevant'. I suppose you could read information for family and friends who were born under different moon signs. It was fun to read with my partner, who does not believe in astrology at all! Yet, a lot of what was said about the scorpio moon did resonate with him and his character, (whether he admitted it or not).

The second half of the book provides detailed rituals for the new and full moon when it passes through each of the zodiac signs. Personally, my new moon ritual is often the same (setting intentions), no matter what phase of the zodiac the moon is currently in. Therefore I am looking forward to trying something new for the coming new and full moons.

Overall, I would say this is a very 'quick' book. It's not really one that you would usually sit down and read cover to cover. You would more likely visit and re-visit specific sections as reference. Especially during the new and full moons. I would recommend it to people, who like me, may be looking for some new and different moon rituals to add to your repertoire.

*It is worth noting that a lot of the content in this book was previously published, in 2017, in the book: Moon Power - Lunar Rituals for Connecting with Your Inner Goddess. Therefore this book has been republished and re-titled. From what I have been able to find out about the previous 'version' of this book, it appears that a lot of the ideas related to the 'inner goddess' have been removed for, 10-minute Moon Rituals. This does explain why the 'sexual nature' section feels slightly out of place. Following some quick searches it seems that the original incarnation of this book had some problematic elements. As I am reviewing the new version I will not go in to this further, but feel free to look in to this yourself if you are so inclined.

Thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Fair Winds Press for allowing me to read and review this E-ARC.
