Fun book for any classroom! The illustrations really bring this to life, a lovely book for any home or educational setting. This is such an important topic and it is never too early to introduce the environment to kids.

Such a wonderful book to help you teach your child about the environment and the importance of caring for it. It is so important to start introducing them to it, at a young age, and really being open to talking about how to protect/save the environment, as well as doing activities to show them the importance of the environment. I really loved this book and enjoyed sharing it with my daughter.

The environment is the most important thing to be taken care of for our survival. And we can see how we are being harmed due to our unwanted activities which are hurting the environment. The only thing we can do to save further harm is to create awareness and take actions accordingly. This awareness needs to be given to future generations, that is the children now. What they see as a kid, is what they will do after growing up. So, we must educate them on how to take care of our environment. And this can be done through our actions.

This is a must-read book for every child. The author has beautifully explained the environment and its elements. He has kept the language very simple. The illustrations are also very nice, clean and clear. What I liked the most about this book is the way he has included small and simple experiments to explain most of the concept. Other than this, there are many small models included which can help prevent different causes of pollution, of which my personal favourite is the "Zero-mile meal". It was a very educational read for me as well.

I recommend this book to every kid and also to those grown-up literates who don't know how their actions may harm the environment. It can be a good read for parents as well, to teach their children about the essential elements of the environment.

I really enjoyed this book and is defiantly one to look out for especially if you have children who love facts. I found the text easy to read and the illustrations are eye catching. I found the tasks great too. This book really makes you think about the world we live in! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Everything is part of the environment and this is a lovely exploration of air, weather, pollution, water, plastic, gases, people, plants and animals. It is a great introduction to the environment and looks at how we as humans fit into the environment and what impact we have on it.

The book uses a simple approach and three distinct types of page; Explore, Investigate, Create. Concepts and ideas are explained and teach children about important issues (Explore) and simple and accessible experiments mean children can witness the effects first hand (Investigate, Create). Colour-coded page markers indicate the function of each page and the design and layout of the pages are very appealing to the young reader. Illustrations are simple, clear and relatable, and I particularly like the scenes that tell a story with characters and speech bubbles. Text is often set into small chunks and the use of coloured text boxes really helps break up the volume of text and no page will feel overwhelming for young children. Maps also feature and are again really accessible and clearly colour-coded.

What I really like about this book is that it actively engages the reader. Questions are asked for the reader to think about and there are all manner of experiments and things to do that will help children further understand the environment in which they live. A challenge at the end of the book rounds things off nicely and requires readers to use all the ideas that they have learnt about and create their own eco home. A couple of templates are provided at the back of the book to assist with specific activities and a detailed glossary explains words from ‘atmosphere’ to ‘sustainability'.

There is so much for the reader to do, whether it be trying out any one of the many experiments, matching endangered species to their habitats, writing an environment themed poem or untangling items and their carbon footprints - there is lots of fun to be had and learning to be done through this gem of a book.

An engaging and informative book for primary-age children on all things environmental. It includes a lovely balance of information and practical activities, together with a little bit of extra inspiration in the form of quotes and stories.

There's also a nice balance of topics, including pollution, the ozone layer, and global warming - though why not use the phrase "global heating", which carries a greater sense of urgency and which is becoming more common?

Some of the activities don't look easy, but they all look rewarding and I look forward to trying some of them out.

Finally, as is the case with much environmental messaging, there is a slightly misleading sense that small actions by individuals can solve some pretty major problems, global heating in particular. For a kids book, this is very understandable, as it is more about developing a sense of respect and stewardship for the planet and for nature. But it would have been nice to see a little bit more about taking action to pressure governments into taking the kind of actions that only governments can take. The mention of Greta Thunberg would have been an obvious place to do this - as the school strike movement is something most of the book's readers will be aware of.

This is a great little book for younger children to learn about the environment. It is well laid out and attractive to the eye, with lots of bright illustrations. I liked the way the facts were separated into different coloured boxes so the information was easy to find and read.
The best bit us all the extra facts and activities throughout the book. There are easy to do activities linked to the different topics throughout the book.
This would be great to share in school but also to use at home.

I like this book for the classroom or home learning environment. There are good activities linking to different themes. I would have liked to see more of the topics explained though to provide useful information to a child reading the book.
