This book grabbed my attention from the very first page. The characters were so detailed and believable that I am still wondering about them even though I have finished the book. The storyline was really realistic and I was totally engrossed. There were times when I felt great joy and other times when I felt real sadness- a real roller coaster!
I would thoroughly recommend this book and a big thank you to Tony Parsons for writing it and Netgalley and Random House for giving me the opportunity to give my unbiased opinion.

This was the first Tony Parsons book I have read, I don't think it will be the last.

This was a pacey, psychological thriller which covers the consequences of a split second decision made by Tara, one of our main characters. The impact sends a ripple effect through her and her family's lives forever,

The first half of this book was absolutely gripping and the premise was fantastic - an ill-considered one night stand, a stalker, a murder and an unwitting husband.

I felt that reality was stretched a little too far for me in the second hald, it almost had one twist and turn too many. That said, I can forgive this as the book gripped me from the start and provided some well-needed escapism!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC, in exchange for my honest review - I would recommend this to others.

This is the first book I have read by Tony Parsons and I must say I really enjoyed it, There were plenty pf twists and turns to keep you guessing and it was a really good read. I think the characters were all believable and the book was well written.

It shows how one decision can change your life.

Will certainly read more books by Tony Parsons and would recommend this book.

It was an okay book, at the start it was very exciting but it seemed to fall flat in the middle what a terrible mistake Tara made just for a one night stand in Tokyo the consequences were dire and how easily things can happen and how everything will change your life overnight I enjoyed the book but think it could have been better it’s the first book I’ve read of Tony Parsons I will definitely try his other ones I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House for a free ARC of this book.

I'm new to Tony Parsons and will be reading more of his books after having read and enjoyed Your Neighbour's Wife.

An excellent psychological thriller with plenty of red herrings thrown in to throw off the reader. A story that reminds us all how quickly and irretrevably a normal, settled life can fall apart and descend into a nightmare. Oh, for the choices we make.

While I didn't particularly like any of the characters, except the child and the dog, they were well written and portrayed. I simply didn't connect with them or their choices on a personal level. However, the antagonist was very well written and believable, and that guy got what was coming to him for sure.

I give Your Neighbour's Wife a strong 4 out of 5 stars and highly recommend this read.

Tara and Christian together with their young son are the perfect family, living the perfect life. After journalism collapsed for both of them Tara branches out with a successful new venture and Christian becomes a house husband. It just works perfectly for them both. They are happy together until a costly personal mistake by Tara spirals events out of control. The mistake eventually leads to murder. Who commits the murder and is the right person found guilty?
This is a fast moving story and Tara seems a bright woman who just makes a silly miststake by choosing the wrong man to stray with. However Christian seems to be the victim throughout the story and he really needs to take some control of the situation.
This is an amazing story that makes you change your mind throughout. Who are the real victims and who is the real controller of the events? I’ll leave it to you to work it out.

My thanks to Netgalley for my copy of Your Neighbour's Wife, quite a compelling, psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns. However, for all that it had most of the right ingredients it didn't quite work for me as I need to have at least one character that I like. They were all unfortunately a rather nasty bunch with the exception of Marlon the five year old and even he seemed to be treated by everyone as though he were only around three years of age. Luckily being babied so much and living with the trauma his parents caused didn't stop him turning out to also be a likeable adolescent.
It was, I think an ok read overall, I neither loved nor hated it.

Something I don't normally do after reading is to have a quick look at reviews already on Netgalley. Quite a mixed bag and it just goes to show we are all different and can love or dislike the same book.
For me, this book is absolutely brilliant and is one of the best of the many hundreds I have read. The story is strong and there are lots of twists and turns so you never know what will come next and how it will end. Even better though is I love the way it is written - the words and phrasing are so, so good and had me stopping to think and appreciate many times. If only I could write anything like this.
I guess the story theme of one night stand. psychotic harassment, murder, suspects, jail and revelation is fairly common but this book I'm sure far exceeds the 'normal approach. Alternating paragraphs between Tara the wife and Christian the husband take you through the story without ever providing pages of background narrative you just want to skip.
My only criticism, which shows my age (over 70), is that I totally agree with Spike's appreciation of the Doors but I certainly don't agree with 'Weird Scenes Inside The Goldmine' as the double album he worships. This album was a mixed bag of Doors tracks from 6 earlier albums and, for me, the first album boringly titled The Doors should have been used. Still the title Weird Scenes etc. from 'The End' track on the first album is very memorable and sums up Jim's brilliant lyrics.

As usual in my reviews, I will not rehash the plot - plenty of other reviews like that out there already!

I've read a few other books by Tony Parsons, and found them excellent and thoroughly enjoyed them.

However - for me, this was not in the same category, and disappointingly, I didn't really enjoy it if I'm brutally honest. I think the main reason for this is that I didn't like any of the characters (apart from young Marlon) - they all had some kind of negative thing going on that put me off them.

The plot is well thought out, but having read a lot of books in the "psychological thriller" category it was patently obvious to me what the outcome was going to be. However I still stayed up late to finish it...

I'm classing this as "it was an OK read", but will happily read future novels by Mr Parsons.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I must say it was a great read. As psychological thrillers go it was up there with my favourites. It was well written, full of suspense and it kept me glued to my kindle well into the early hours.

Wow! I read Your Neighbour's Wife extremely quickly because I never came across anything like it. I don't think I ever read any of Tony Parsons' novels before but I'll definitely do it from now on.

The novel presents the reader with twist after twist after twist. Even when I thought everything was solved and that the book was coming to an end, Parsons' delivered another blow that took my breath away.

This story of murder touches many interesting topics such as loyalty, infidelity, marriage, family and lies. If you're looking for a hell of a ride, this book is the one for you!

This book shows how quickly a perfect life can fall apart when a bad decision is made.
This is a gripping read with the story taking several turns along the way and therefore keeping the reader engaged. The characters are well written and you feel for their predicament.
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a complex gripping book full of depth and interesting characters. It is meaty and gritty. An absolute delight to read and it left me feeling uneasy- but in a really good way!

Love isn’t perfect is it. Sometimes it can be down right dangerous!I really loved this book. I hadn’t ready any Tony Parsons before but am going to look up his back catalogue of work. This novel has that weird feeling of viewing what’s happening over someone else’s shoulder and in real life you would turn away as it’s quite real. Imagine being so concerned about your husbands texts emails etc that you are constantly scrolling through his stuff when he’s not looking. The author describes it as shopping for pain which is a prefect description of what women do. If that rings a bell with you read on. It’s a much more complex book than you would expect and with any good book I found myself thinking about it days after I’d read it. It did make me think that our choices make our paths in life and a mad diversion alters your path and that if those around you.

Oh this was good!

Tara and Christian are happily married and have their little boy, Marlon. Christian is a stay at home dad whilst Tara is running her own successful dating agency business. Everyone loves Tara, her adoring husband, her collegues , her dad who even as and adult, Tara is the apple of his eye.

Tara goes to Japan on a business trip and well, what happens in Japan doesn't stay in Japan and he brings home a whole heap of trouble in the shape of misogynist James, the man she thought she was having a one night stands with, but he has other ideas.

Threatening her happy marriage Tara goes to confront James, but when she gets there, someone has beaten her to it.

Which one of Tara's adoring public has leapt to her defence?

Firstly, love that phrase at the beginning of the book 'shopping for pain', trying to uncover things that will hurt is, think we all do that at some point in our lives.

Tara makes a mistake and she did it because she thought she could get away with it, again holding up a mirror to society in general.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review it, this is my honest opinion.
