I know Christmas is on the way when Sarah brings out her yearly Christmas read. Every year I get drawn in and fall in love with the characters. Hopefully she will never run out of ideas for Christmas stories. Families are all different and who is to say what is the correct way to be a parent. It is a learning curve for each and every one of us. This book looks into a dysfunctional family and how they learn to look at things from each other’s point of view. Yet again Sarah has not only given us a fabulous Christmas read, but also it gives you food for thought. Well done Sarah a well deserved five star read.

One More for Christmas is a book about sisters coming together with their mother over the Christmas period. They had an upbringing with little love and following an accident the mother, Gayle, wishes to rectify this. I did enjoy the book and am a huge Sarah Morgan fan, however it wasn’t my favourite. It was enjoyable and I seemed became engrossed pretty quickly but then it trailed off and I found myself putting off coming back to it. It all seemed a little easy and straightforward. Bad mother- hits her head- tries again with children- life happily ever after. I enjoyed the relationship between Samantha and Brodie but felt that there was no real summary there. I would have enjoyed reading more about the relationship between Michael and Ella too. If I’m honest, the ending just felt rushed when there was such a great build up. I love a happily ever after but like it to have a bit more meat involved in the storyline, which Sarah’s books usually do, just not this time unfortunately. I have been excited for this year’s Christmas book because I enjoyed last year’s so much but I’d say it’s a good 3/5.

When Gayle Mitchell, a high-flying businesswoman is knocked out in a freak accident, it makes her re-evaluate her priorities, especially her relationship with her estranged daughters, Samantha and Ella. And so she invites herself on their planned Christmas trip to the Scottish Highlands, where Samantha is scoping out a secluded lodge for her travel company Really Festive Holidays.
The girls are devastated! Samantha doesn't want to go anyway - she's already made a fool of herself with lodge owner Brodie by mistaking him for her ex-boyfriend on the phone, and confessing her deepest relationship dreams and desires! Ella meanwhile dreads what Gayle will say when she learns her younger daughter has settled for life as a wife and mother to four-year-old Tab.
However Gayle surprises them by entering into the Christmas spirit. But how long will it last before old grudges, fresh grievances and family secrets start spilling out?
As always, Sarah Morgan gives us a wonderful festive atmosphere - from New York apartment stores groaning under the weight of festive sparkle to the snowy Highlands with its pine forests and reindeer herds, from the smell of gingerbread to the sound of gently falling snow, all the senses are engaged. It's a beautifully romantic setting, but although there's plenty of romance in the narrative - Brodie is every girl's dream date! - the plot reallly does focus on the mother/daughter dynamic as Gayle, Samantha and Ella learn to forgive the past and move into the future together. There are no huge twists and turns in the plot - instead there are lots of heart-to-hearts, as family emotions are finally explored openly and honestly, and the result is a heart-warming read, just right for Christmas-time.

I know when I pick up a Sarah Morgan book it’s going to be a great read, this was no exception. It’s beautifully warm, wonderfully festive and such a lovely read.

Having read previous Christmas novels by Sarah Morgan such as the Christmas sisters and a December wedding I was really looking forward to her new book - One more for Christmas. Each title I think they can’t get any better as they are wonderful stories and yet she has managed to delight me again.
What a truly lovely story one more for Christmas is. Written so beautifully that I could imagine myself in the wonderful Christmas setting in Scotland amongst the reindeer and snowy landscape.
This is the story of New Yorker Gayle - a successful business woman and renowned author of self help books who does whatever it takes to succeed. But at what cost ?
After an accident, Gayle takes stock of her life and realised maybe it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Estranged from her two daughters for 5 years because of her behaviour - Gayle reaches out to them.
Older daughter Samantha runs her own holiday company arranging magical Christmas experiences for others even though as a child her mother never let her celebrate Christmas or believe in Santa.
Younger daughter Ella has taken a break from teaching to raise her daughter Tab and be with husband Micheal - only problem is she hasn’t told her mother about them.
When Gayle reaches out to the girls and tries to mend their relationship, Samantha informs her that they are spending Christmas in Scotland checking out a new holiday destination.
Scottish laird Brodie has invited her to come and see what his family have to offer And how she can help them build a business to save the family home and reindeer Hurd after the death of his father.
Gayle invites herself along - hence the title - one more for Christmas.
This is a wonderful book, funny, romantic and full of Christmas spirit.
Highly recommended.

Another brilliant book by Sarah Morgan.
A family estranged, an accident and the Christmas season. Three generations with hurt, misunderstanding and bitterness all mixed up. A return to Scotland stirs up bad memories for mum but finds it difficult to communicate with her grown up daughters. The muddling along, confusion and eventually resolution. A fantastic story in a beautiful location. Enjoy, I did.

Ella and Samantha are not keen on the idea. They are given the opportunity to visit Scotland at Christmas, All of them.

Can Christmas heal a rift between them or push them further apart?

Read in one sitting! fabulously written and gripping! Praise to Sarah Morgan. Brilliant!

Sarah Morgan’s more recent offerings are often hit or miss for me and sadly this one was less of a hit. Some of that boils down to personal preference with regard to content so I’m sure my opinion will be vastly different to others however I do prefer her older, less dramatic and more romance driven reads over her women’s fiction. Lovers of women’s fiction will enjoy this hugely I’m certain. .

This is my first read of a novel set at Christmas time. Gayle, newly discovered as a Nanna, has two daughters and also a granddaughter that she knew nothing about. Without giving the story away I thought I would find this read sickly sweet however, it’s a fabulous tale that gives a true look at family matters. It’s like having a cup of hot chocolate on a cold and miserable winters day, just the thing you need to make you feel warm and good. I loved it.

As with all Sarah Morgan books, a lovely gentle read which is most enjoyable. A story of a family, a mother and two daughters who have had major mistrust and issues with each other and issues dating back a great many years ,attempting to grow back together after the mother has an accident. Add to the mix a delightful wee girl, a handsome and kind man and a fantastic Scottish winter setting, complete with reindeer and you have a perfect preChristmas read.

When I think of typical idyllic locations for a festive get away I have to admit the Scottish Highlands isn’t the first place that comes to mind and yet having just finished reading Sarah Morgan’s recent release One More for Christmas I feel like I have found a hidden festive gem!
Career driven Gayle has been estranged from her two daughters for the past 5 years but when she has an accident and is taken to hospital her daughters are called. Something changes in Gayle and she wants to try and build bridges with her daughters Samantha and Ella, can a Christmas get away to the Scottish Highlands be the place to mend their hearts?
Quite simply this is my favourite novel by Sarah Morgan. this isn’t just a wintery read this has a wonderful sprinkling of festivity flowing through the storyline too, from Christmas baking, reindeer rides, Christmas tree gathering, snowman building the list goes on and after this mad year we have had it was a real treat to read this novel that provided pure escapism and has started the excitement bubbling of the Christmas spirit.
Each and every one of the characters were loveable with no exceptions, yes there are secrets and mistakes that have been hidden that shows that they are slightly flawed but typically this is because the secrets were hidden to protect others. It shows the importance of talking to one another and that it is never too late to build bridges and to learn to forgive and forget.
Tab who is Ella’s daughter is a little ball of energy and certainly helps to bring everyone together, her constant questions soon wore me out! Samantha and Ella have such a strong sisterly bond, it is apparent that their upbringing with their mother has affected them both but it has made them be there for each other through thick and thin.
As ever with a Sarah Morgan novel there is a swoony romance with a loveable Laird that will warm your heart.
This one certainly ticked all the boxes for me and as I reached the last couple of chapters I was reluctant to finish because I didn’t want to leave these characters behind. I certainly think there is more that can be done with each of these characters so I hope we will be reunited with them soon.

A truly feel good Christmas read. I felt like I knew the characters personally and even though I didn’t like Gayle at first I warmed to her through the story.
Sarah Morgan is becoming a firm favourite of mine.

This book will get you right in the mood for Christmas.
A great feel good, cosy read. After a bump to her head Gayle contacts her daughters who she has lost touch with and they all end up spending Christmas in Scotland. What develops is building broken relationships and building new ones.

I love Sarah Morgan’s books. She has a tremendous ability to entrance you into her world. This time it is Christmas in Scotland and involves a mother and her two estranged daughters. Be aware that when you pick this book up you will not be able to put it down as it draws you into their world and when you put it down it takes a while to rejoin your own life!

Following an accident successful businesswoman Gayle ends up spending Christmas with her two estranged daughters, Samantha and Ella, together with Ella's husband and daughter. They visit a lodge in Scotland which Sam is considering adding to the list of locations used by her business for bespoke holidays.
An interesting take on family dynamics and personalities. Gayle, with her unemotional approach to life, Ella with her emotions on her sleeve and Sam who is somewhere in between with an emotional "inner Sam" and more business "or Sam". Throw in a handsome owner of the lodge, Brodie, as the love interest with his mother Mary and sister Kirstie suffering from the loss of his father and the scene is set. I liked the way Gayle's back story gradually came out, explaining some of the reasons for her manner and her wish to bridge the gap with her daughters and, in particular, her love for her granddaughter that she didn't know the existence of. With a touch of non explicit spicyness this is a great book to snuggle up with on an autumnal evening.

Well, once again Sarah Morgan has proved that she knows how to write families. The multiple perspectives in this book fit together seamlessly. Gayle is estranged from her daughters, but after an accident leaves her questioning all her decisions they decide to spend Christmas together, but untangling the families troubled relationships is going to be harder than any of them thought.

I got really involved with the characters, and the setting of a snowy house in Scotland ... I was there!!

This book was very nearly a 5 star but for me the ending was too abrupt ... I wanted more, I wanted to know what the characters did next, how the day played out etc ... So please tell me theres going to be a sequel??

A warm cosy festive read set mainly in Scotland. The weather might be snowy and cold but this story will warm your heart and is perfect on a winters day, so snuggle up and enjoy. I love Sarah Morgans books and I always wait with excited anticipation for her new Christmas novel.
Two sisters Samantha and Ella have always had a strained relationship with their Mother Gayle, a high flying no nonsense woman, so when they end up spending Christmas together in Scotland there are a lot of emotions and past events to face. Ellas young daughter Tabitha is delightful and certainly helped with the tense atmosphere and the forgiveness process. I was especially moved to see the relationship and bond between Granddaughter and Grandmother Gayle blossom, it was so heart-warming. Equally the spark between Samantha and Laird of the Manor Brodie, which had a shaky start to say the least, brought romance and excitement to this story.

A wonderful festive read, just perfect for getting you in the mood for the festive season. Who doesn’t love a white a Christmas. This book has everything you need; family, beautiful scenery, snow, isolation, roaring fires, reindeer, great food and love. Sarah Morgan can give you a stunning backdrop whilst weaving an intricate tale of family drama and secrets and underpinning it all with friendships and romance. None of it is predictable either! She has a winning combination with her writing - it works everytime and this book is no exception.

Well I loved this book. The first Sarah Morgan book I read was Sleigh Bells in the Snow and that book rekindled my love of reading. So I love reading her books. There are some really lovely festive parts to this book. I loved all of the characters. At first I didn't think I would enjoy reading about Gayle but I soon changed my mind. Everyone has a background and this book highlights this well. The only think I would say is I would have liked a bit more as I didn't want the story to end.
