I have had a bit of a Sarah Morgan Christmas books catch up over the Christmas period and this one does not disappoint. I really liked the characters and their journey to better relationships with each other. I love the description as of a Christmassy Scotland and how everyone came together to celebrate the festive season like they haven't been able to do before.
Loved this book which is set at Christmas time and describes how hard it can be for families to be together especially after a falling out. Would really recommend it.
Morgan has done it again - I absolutely loved this novel!
Each chapter takes the point of view of one of these women, giving us the opportunity to learn how they see each other, how differently see the same situations and what their personal troubles are. I was absorbed into their worlds immediately, it has the perfect balance of funny, frustrating, romantic and heartfelt moments.
As Morgan weaves the past tragedy though the pages slowly revelling what happened and why the rifts between the family exist.
A fabulous Christmas read with heart, treat yourself, get cosy, put your feet up with a hot chocolate and be taken to Snowy Scotland - I couldn't put it down until I turned the very last page.
5⭐
A fun festive family read!
I loved this book and it had all the festive feels.
I enjoyed Sarah’s writing style and each character developed as the chapters continued.
I especially loved Gayle, no spoilers but how her character develops added real heart to the story.
Some might say that the ending could be deemed predictable but I would add it was heart warming and expected.
You are taken on a journey with a normal family into the Scottish Snow.
Where secrets are slowly reveals and rifts are amended. Just what you need for a Christmas read.
Sarah Morgan is one of my favourite authors, her books never disappoint and I can honestly say that this book is up there with my favourites.
I loved everything about this story. The complexities of the characters, their backgrounds, and the ways in which this impacted who they are today.
The scene was set so beautifully, I found myself dreaming of escaping to Scotland myself.
Although there is certainly romance in this story, it is not the only focus in this book and I loved that. I found myself so emotionally invested in all of the characters, and felt overjoyed when the three women reconciled at the end.
A fantastic, heartwarming festive read...I adored this book.
A must read, heartwarming Christmas story!!
Absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. Might have meant it was gone noon before I actually did anything on Sunday! 🙄
I love reading Sarah's books and the fact they just engross you from the first page. This book was no different and was a lovely story about a family spending Christmas together. If you're looking for a book to get you in the mood for Christmas this is it! It's September and I now want to make snowmen and bake gingerbread ☃️
This book was unintentionally my first read of 2020, I had been approved for an advanced ecopy from netgalley but wanted to keep it until nearer the festive season.. then I completely forgot about it! However it turned out to be not nearly as Christmas focussed as I thought, given the title, and was fine for this time of year!
The book mainly focusses on Gayle, a powerhouse of a woman who has written two books on finding the best in yourself, believes in making your own fortune and achieving what you have set out to, despite consequences, and her two daughters. Samantha, the oldest is similar to her mother in her business like approach to life with her work being her priority over everything, bar her younger sister Ella and her four year old niece tab who she dotes on.
When Gayle has an accident at work and is lying unconscious able to hear what her staff think about her really she is determined to make changes, starting with making amends with her daughters who she hasn't seen or spoken to in 5 years.
While some parts of this book were predictable, others definitely weren't! There are passages that make me gasp with heart break for the characters and others I highlighted because they actually made me laugh aloud, something that is very rare for a book!
The fact it is set in the Highlands too makes my heart happy and perhaps me a little bias!
Another engaging tale from this fantastic author. I really became wrapped up in the tale of the two sisters and their estrangement from their career obsessed mother.
Loved the settings and the characters, can’t fault it really...

A lovely Christmas story, focusing on family relationships, drama and romance all included. Perfect to help you feel all Christmassy, around the festive season. Really enjoyed, and would recommend, especially as a Christmas read. Would recommend reading any of Sarah Morgans books, enjoyable easy reads.
This was a really enjoyable Christmas read - a family drama with a bit of romance, but a lot more focus on sibling relationships and parenting.
Samantha and Ella are estranged from their cold, successful mother. Brodie and Kirstie are grieving the loss of their father and supporting their mother while trying to diversify the family estate in the Highlands. One More for Christmas is the story of the two families spending Christmas together in Scotland, and the shifting relationships. I would have liked more of Brodie/Kirstie’s story, as the focus was on Samantha and Ella the Scottish characters felt a bit less realistic/underdeveloped, but still an enjoyable read.
This was an arc copy provided free of charge for an honest review.
I really loved this book it was festive and fun and didn’t follow the formulaic rhetoric that other books follow.
Gayle was a strong powerful and successful woman, a ceo of a successful company and author of female empowerment books.
Ella was a teacher, so nurturing and soft to her daughter, she was a stay at home Mum
Samantha was also a ceo of really festive holidays.
An accident was all it took to mix their lives back up and make them investigate and appreciate each other’s views and flaws.
Spending Christmas together in Scotland in a highland lodge sounds perfect. You can smell the firs, taste the shortbread and feel the reindeer fur.
Firstly a big thank you to Hq for my copy to review on netgalley. I saved this to read around Christmas time and it was just the right choice.
Sarah is a fantastic author who writes about love and family and you can feel her warmth within her words.
This is a story about families coming together and rediscovering their love for each other and for the festive season.
Its magical and romantic but also deals with sone difficult topics.
Perfect escapism for 2020.

If there’s anything I needed as we round out 2020, it’s a Sarah Morgan Christmas story — and this does not disappoint. One More For Christmas is a warm and focused look at the family dynamics between successful businesswoman Gayle and her adult daughters, Samantha and Ella. Long estranged, these three women come together when Gayle suffers an accident at work which makes her re-assess her priorities in life. A number of circumstances lead to a family holiday in Scotland over Christmastime — under the guise of “work” for Samantha, who organises luxury Christmas holidays — and so Gayle joins Samantha, and Ella, her husband Michael, and their daughter Tab, for the trip. Dreading the whole thing, Samantha and Ella band together to counter their mother’s expected criticisms, whilst Michael offers love and support in the background. However, a snowy Scottish Highland lodge with a loving, but grieving, family at the heart of it means not everything is guaranteed this particularly Christmastime.
I loved the Mitchell family, who own the lodge, and the strained dynamics between Brodie and his sister Kristie after the death of their father. Their mother, Mary, was a delight and all three were fantastic character studies into the different natures of grief. However, offering the lodge up as a Christmas resort location wasn’t in everyone’s plans…
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel. Coming home to a Sarah Morgan book is like sinking into your favourite chair with a glass of wine and a good log fire. It may have a little heartache from time to time, but happily ever after is never far away. This is a wonderful Christmas read to lift the spirits. Highly recommended.
I received an e-ARC from the publisher, HQ, through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Furthermore, in the interests of transparency, I know the author via Facebook.
Estranged family gets caught up with a grieving family half a world away. Modern America meets Ye Olde World Scottish Highlands. Shouldn’t work but it does, starting with a toe curling, ‘ it’s not you,it’s me call,’ to the wrong man. Genius!
Loved the setting and the description of the bleak, but beautiful highlands. Christmas magic.
A Christmas story with family at it’s heart.
Gayle, a seemingly, cold driven individual is forced to readdress her life after a horrific accident recorded by onlooking cameras and crew,
Reading this during a pandemic, when we have been restricted on how and when we see our family proved emotive. Whilst there is a hint of romance in this novel, the family dynamics between mothers and their mature children were the central focus.
Sarah Morgan transports readers to a wintery, remote Scotland complete with reindeers and Christmas baking.
One More For Christmas is an easy Christmas read and I would recommend for those that want to prolong the Christmas period!
.
Sarah’s books are just magical and make you feel all warm and Christmassy inside! I loved the book but the only problem I had was with th3 typescript, there were random gaps in words making it sometimes difficult to understand. Thankyou NetGalley for a lovely festive read.
I'm definitely a seasonal reader, and I always like to pick up at least one Christmas-y book around this time of year. I had never read anything by Sarah Morgan before, but judging by her backlist of festive reads, I decided to give 'One More for Christmas' a go.
It is the story of sisters Samantha and Ella, who adore the Christmas period... in fact Samantha runs a business dedicated to festive getaways. One day, Samantha receives a call from her mother Gayle, who she hasn't had contact with in five years. Gayle, who typically doesn't care for Christmas, wants to make amends and spend it with her two estranged daughters.
The majority of the book is set in a remote Scottish BnB, which is the perfect setting for a Christmas story. I almost wished the author built up the scenery a bit more... there was a LOT of dialogue throughout, which usually I don't mind, but I felt it lacked the attention to detail.
Although I didn't find any of the characters particularly lovaeble, I did enjoy the chapters featuring the secondary characters Brodie and Mary. I liked that the chapters alternated between the different character viewpoints, however some of the chapters were super long, which I don't tend to care for... personal preference!
I would recommend this book if you want to read something uplifting and feel-good around the Christmas period. It is very well written (albeit a little predictable!) and I'll definitely consider reading other books by Morgan in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book!
This is not your typical Christmas romance story. Focussing on a fraught relationship between a mother and her two adult daughters, the story shows them getting back together to spend Christmas together after not speaking for five years. The story is heartwarming though a little unrealistic as in the time frame the relationships are somewhat mended.
Set against the Scottish highlands at Christmas, so you won’t be disappointed with the Christmas atmosphere.
A lovely feel good Christmas book that explores the relationships between families. Samantha and Ella have never been close to their mother Gayle but when Gayle has an accident and asks for her daughter's they find themselves spending Christmas together in a beautiful lodge in the Scottish Highlands. Gorgeous settings and unforgettable characters makes this a charming , warm story.
I normally love Sarah Morgan books so was very excited to receive this to read. The story is less of a romance than her usual books and is focussed more on family relationships. Although I enjoyed it, it was definitely not my favourite book from Morgan and I found it a little repetitive and perhaps 100 pages too long for this storyline.
The book did have a lovely festive feel to it and the scene setting was gorgeous. I liked the characters but I wasn’t swept away by them like some of Morgans other books.
