The perfect Christmas book; Christmas, family, love, careers, snowy Scotland - what more could I want? I would recommend this book, a very heartwarming read!

Sarah Morgan doesn't disappoint when it comes to Christmas storytelling. I'm a huge fan of her Snow Crystal Trilogy and love when a new SM book comes out. Christmas fiction isn't my usual genre, but I have devoured almost all of this author's books with relish! I love them.

This one is lovely. It is about a family, with some strained relationships and tense dynamics, who spend a Christmas together. There is a sad narrative running through this when we delve deeper into the reasons for the split in the family. The mother/daughter situation is so heart-breaking and once you know all the details it is hard not to feel for them all. A Christmas all together is definitely what they all need, to mend the rifts and strengthen their futures.

100% recommend this one as a festive read, but also one with deeper context too.

Gayle has spent her adult life making choices not taking chances. When an accident occurs she is reunited with her daughters. Can they all face the demons of the past and move forward together? A trip to the remote Scottish Highlands for Christmas will put this to the test.
This is the first book I have read by Sarah Morgan, I do have a couple on my bookshelves so I will be sure to read those sooner rather than later now but I chose to read this one with its Xmas theme. I really enjoyed it, the characters were well written, likeable, and each had their own story to develop. The additional characters of Mary and Tab really brought everyone's stories together. It was just such a warm, cosy read. Perfect for snuggling up at winter time to read!

Sisters Ella and Samantha have been estranged from their mother for 5 years until, one December, an unexpected accident brings them together. In a desperate bid to fix their relationship, they end up on a family holiday in Scotland.

Wow, this book spoke to me. It is so beautifully written and far from the usual festive cheese. It had all the vivid festive descriptions that are well-loved but had a large focus on human, namely family, dynamics and how your upbringing can influence who you become. I invested in every single character- who they were and who they were becoming on their soul search. I felt for them each step of their difficult journey and with the tough decisions that had to be made. With each chapter being told from a different main character's perspective we were given insight into their mind and hearts, we become a benevolent observer free from judgement and side taking and instead filled with fruatration and empathy.

Plus I was SO in love with their Scotland home. It's exactly the kind of Christmas I want. (Swipe to see an idyllic extract) Not forgetting...a cheeky little romance with the perfect book boyfriend!

I usually avoid Christmas stories, finding them too saccharine sweet for my taste - but I do like to read a Christmas themed book at Christmas! I actually really enjoyed this book - it had more about it than others I’ve read and had a lovely outcome (of course, no surprise there but I’ll forgive this one) - if romantic novels are your thing - recommended

Such a poignant story of family difficulties and the power of reconciliation. It took an accident and trip half way across the world to being a family back together and work through their differences and painful history.
After reading this one, I went in search of other Christmas stories from Sarah Morgan.

Beautiful story and the first I’ve read by this author. I loved the way the story was told from different characters perspectives and the setting in Scotland was so perfect for a Christmas story. I really got invested in the characters, they were all so likeable and the fact they all had secrets waiting to be unearthed added to the intrigue of the story. A gorgeous romance was intermingled amongst all the family drama and I was sad when the book ended. I highly recommend this book!

It has been a long time since I read a Sarah Morgan book and I was so pleasantly surprised by this plot. It was a lovely read with interesting characters and I read it in nearly one sitting. I cannot recommend this book enough if you want a festive, comforting way to escape what has been a challenging year for all. Thank you netgalley foe access to such a wonderful book!

I didn’t know what to expect from this book but loved every second of it. Sarah is wonderful and makes every setting somewhere you want to visit, and each story somewhere you want to be a fly on the wall.

Please can I go to Scotland now, enjoy some of Mary’s cooking and visit the reindeer?

I can’t remember how I first discovered Sarah Morgan – it may have been through an Instagram review by fellow author Laura Jane Williams – but wherever I first found her Christmas novels, I’ve been reading them in December each year ever since.

One More For Christmas centers on two daughters, Ella and Samantha, who are estranged from their highly successful and famous mother, Gayle Mitchell. When Gayle has an accident at work, she wonders if its time to reassess her priorities – and invites herself to spend Christmas with her daughters in Scotland.

Like Sarah Morgan’s previous Christmas novels, this one unpicks a family’s drama over the holidays delving into their pasts, and leaving the reader left guessing the reason for it all until close to the end. It’s also perfectly Christmassy (what’s not to love about a Highland lodge in the snow over the holidays?), and of course, there’s a wee bit of romance thrown in there, too. In short: a perfect feel-good festive read for December!

Another fantastic Christmas book from Sarah Morgan. She has this amazing ability to bring the complex family ties to life. The good, the bad and the uncomfortable. You can't help but be captivated by Sarah's beautiful writing style and her ability to bring Christmas to life.

For many years I have enjoyed reading Christmas themed books in December and this book has been a welcome addition to that tradition.

Gayle is a high powered businesswoman who runs a consultancy business and has written two books. But her controlled life is about to unravel as a result of an embarrassing incident in front of a tv crew.

Meanwhile there are her estranged daughters, Samantha and Ella who she hasn't been in touch with for 5 years. Ella has a couple of large secrets that she hasn't shared with her mother. These being the fact that she is married and also that she has a daughter.

Gayle gets in touch with Samantha after she is injured as she realises she is alone and would like to make amends with her daughters if possible. Then there is the suggestion of them spending Christmas together in Scotland. Will it work or go pear shaped.

A highly enjoyable read.

Firstly, I would like to thank HQ and Sarah Morgan for giving me early access to this book through Netgalley. Unfortunately, I was only able to read it after publication and therefore purchased the kindle book to read.

As much as I think it ended quickly, I do think Christmas day was a good stopping point. It felt right after the build up of whether it would work out or be ruined. I just hope the author writes another book with these characters because I've grown to really enjoy them.

I think the author did a great thing in this book when Gayle burst out about Santa not being real. We all know we can try our best in situations but we do have limitations and by the author including this it makes the story more realistic in my eyes. I think the other characters covered it up pretty well too. Also really glad Ella stood up to Gayle. Their relationship definitely needed the honesty and boundaries in order for it to work out.

I wish the chapters were titled differently 'Chapter One - Gayle' etc, but I do think the different perspectives helped to give an all round view of the characters and that little bit more insight. I didn't expect to enjoy Gayle's chapters as much as I did so that was refreshing too.

Even though I do feel that Brodie and Samantha's relationship can be seen as rushed, this does happen in real life sometimes when your walls are broken down and you're the real you with someone. Plus we don't actually know whether they work out, it could have just been a whirlwind holiday romance which does happen.

Overall, this book covers a whole load of content while still being uplifting yet realistic. It didn't knock my socks off, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I didn't reach for it, but once reading I got completely submerged in the story! I hope the author writes more books with these characters as I have really grown to enjoy them!

I have also reviewed on Goodreads and Amazon.

After shrewd business woman Gayle has an accident, she decides to reassess her life and get back in touch with her two estranged daughters Samantha and Ella.

An awkward reunion in her hospital bed leads to a trip to Scotland and a Christmas together.

I was a bit underwhelmed by this story as it didn’t really feel Christmassy at all. It was set (from halfway though) in Scotland in the snow but it didn’t give me that warm Christmas feel I was after.

None of the characters jumped out at me. Samantha was stand offish, Gayle overbearing and bossy at times and Ella a bit nothings.

It’s a shame as it was my first Sarah Morgan book and I had high hopes for it; nonetheless I would read another.
