What a page turner. I started this just before bed and what an error, It's so unputdownable! I love a good thriller, but I especially love one that you are immediately thrown head first into! This had so many twists and turns and so much tension. I can already think of so many of my customers I can recommend this to!

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read this book. This was a really good book from start to finish. I would never like to have an encounter with Tate that’s for sure. This is a really good page Turner, edge of your seat kind of book, wanting to know how it’s going to end but not wanting it to either. Really good storyline and brilliant characters. Well worth 5 stars and more. I look forward to reading more from the author.

Anybody who is looking for a tremendous psychological crime thriller look no further
This book had me holding my breath, ad exclaiming out loud.
A chance meeting between two strangers, one of which is a cold, calculating, murderer
A short cat and mouse game between the killer and the only witness to his crime
The domino effect of one bad decision leading to another
A violent climax
All of which is totally believable.

I received this book through NetGalley. The story was fast-paced and engaging. It’s a fun and quick read between the protagonist and a murderer. I enjoyed the plot and liked the characters.

There were some editing issues. Also, there were a few plot issues that were unbelievable. None of it, from start to finish, was enough to make me put down the book, but I was left with issues from the story.

Leah Talbot is driving home alone on Valentines night when she hits a deer on the road and wrecks her car. As her phone battery has died, she goes to the nearest house to ask them if she can use their phone to call for a recovery team to collect her car and her husband. When she arrives at the nearest house, she meets charismatic Martin Tate were there is an instant attraction between them and invites her in. Leah calls her husband, but she knows that he will not be home. There marriage is a loveless one. Martin is extremely helpful and calls his own recovery team to aide Leah to get her car towed.
The next day Leah returns to the house with a bottle wine to say thank you for the help. Only to find the house cordoned off by the police and the owner of the property has been murdered and that Martin Tate was not neighbour but the killer of the woman that lived there.
Thank you Harper Collins One more Chapter for a copy of the Good Neighbour the first book that I have read by Richard Jay Parker. This is a fast paced and somewhat crazy, over the top thriller and also a fast read. Which I did enjoy some what but, just wondered when Leah was making all these decisions and do what the killer was asking. Why didn’t she contact the police? 4 stars from me.

Wow! That escalated fast! What a psycho!!!

This is a fast, paced, thrilling, read in one sitting kind of book - and certainly not for the squeamish!

I requested this ARC from NetGalley based on the description and boy was it worth the chance. I surprised myself with just how quickly I devoured it. R. J Parker writes in my favourite style... short, gripping chapters with cliffhangers to MAKE you read more!

There weren’t any great twists or revelations but this book has serious pace. Set over the course of two days it’s a whirlwind of a ride that doesn’t require anything thinking or figuring out as you are dragged along kicking and screaming with your main character.

Loved it! And will definitely try out another by this author. Thanks NetGalley for my advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

When I first started reading this I was invested and liked where it was going then it became repetitive, irksome and just strange, too unbelievable for me. I did see it though to the end as I held out hope that it would change direction but sad to say it didn't. not for me.

Rollercoaster....just when you think things can't get any worse everything turns upside down again!! Leah is on her way home one night when her car hits a deer and ends up in a ditch. She calls at a house for help and is met by the charming Martin Tate... relieved to have found help she puts her trust in him...only to feel slightly uneasy and even more so when he is affectionate. From here the story takes you on a white knuckle ride of lies, intrigue, terror. I simply couldn't put this book down. Just when you think you've sorted things another twist takes you further into uncertainty and fear. Excellent read. Highly recommend.

Leah and Elliot were in a loveless marriage. It had been over for quite some time, but they still lived together. Leah had been in an accident one day on her way home and stumbled upon Tate Martin and asked for his help. It all went down hill from there!

I read this book in one day. (yay for Sunday reading!) It was very fast paced and easy to read. With that said, it was a bit mediocre at best. The story seemed a bit immature, not something done by an experienced author. It wasn’t that it wasn’t enjoyable, it just seemed some of the dialogue and story lines could have been much better.

There were really any twists, which was disappointing. All in all, it was an ok read, quick and easy.

This was an exciting, fast-paced thriller!

It essentially all takes place in the 24 hours after Leah hits a deer and disables her car driving home one night. The neighbor who helped her out turns out to not actually live there - and in fact had murdered the woman who did live there. For the next day, Leah is trying desperately to protect herself and her loved ones from this killer who has now set his sights on her.

My only complaint about this was the ending felt somewhat dragged out, and ended up being pretty straightforward. I was hoping for some crazy shocking twist and didn't get that. (The last chapter does have a surprise in store, but I wouldn't call it a twist per se). Still, this was a quick read, and kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat throughout.

Thanks to #netgalley and #omcreads for an advanced copy of this book!

When Leah has a car accident on a busy stretch of road she’s relieved that the polite man in the nearby house is so helpful and solicitous. But, when she returns the next day she discovers the only occupant of the house is a woman who was murdered the night before and Leah probably met her killer.

A fantastic, gripping thriller which I sped through in one day. In the main bad guy The Good Neighbour has a brilliantly twisted yet implacably self-assured serial killer. He’s just threatening enough while also being calm in the face of his victim’s terror. It makes for an even more chilling read as we realise along with the Leah that he’s been five steps ahead all along.

A chilling, thrilling and fast-paced read - more of this kind of thing please.

Leah Talbot has an unfortunate collision with a deer, which is the trigger to a sequence of page turning events. When she calls on a nearby house for assistance, and returns the next day to thank the owner Martin Tate, she doesn't envisage the owner has been brutally murdered. With twists and turns beginning early on in the book, I found this an incredibly easy and thrilling read. The descriptions of murder and suspense are gripping and kept me constantly wanting to read just one more chapter...a great read!

The idea behind The Good Neighbour is great, it is a fresh idea for a serial killer. Leah hits a deer on the way home and knocks on the door of a house for help. Leah feels a connection to the man who assists her, but when coming back to thank him in the morning, she finds police investigating the murder of the homeowner who is a woman. Leah was helped by a murderer. So begins a cat and mouse game as the murder contacts her and the killing begins.

I have knocked it down a star as I felt a lot of Leah’s decisions were a little far fetched, but hey, who knows how we would react in her situation.

Ugh. I was really enjoying the first half of this. Fast paced, intriguing premise--seemed like just the thing to get me out of a months-long reading slump! But around the 50% mark, things went haywire. The main character started behaving like a moron (as I kept yelling, "JUST TELL THE POLICE" at her) and things got really gruesome and brutal in ways I was just not here for. Do not recommend.

Leah is driving home when she hits a deer & gets into an accident. She walks to the nearest house to get help. The man who answers the door seems helpful .... however he’s definitely not who he claims to be.

This book was suspenseful however some of the plot line seemed a little unbelievable. I was intrigued right from the first chapter though (I hate it when you have to wait for the story to get moving). I would definitely read another book by RJ Parker.

Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for this ARC.

What do you do when you find out your neighbor isn't exactly who they say they are?
After a traumatic accident involving a deer and a dead phone battery, Leah knocks on the door of the closest home to the scene of the accident looking for help. Her friendly neighbor, Martin, is more than willing to help in her desperate time of need. After how accommodating and helpful Martin was to Leah, she feels it is only right to properly thank him the next morning. When she arrives at his home she sees several police cars but no Martin in sight. Turns out the sole, female homeowner of the house has been brutally murdered. There is no sign of him until he starts looking for Leah. Will he dispose of the only witness there was to his brutal crime or did he let her live for a reason?
This was an amazing read! I could not put this book down and itched to know more. There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming. R.J. Parker wrote a wonderful story that will keep you on your toes! I am very glad that I stumbled across his work and can't wait to read more books written by him!
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Definitely a page-turner. This creepy and twisted novel makes me glad for my security doors. It kept me guessing and anxious throughout. Even after it's "over" it's not over!! Loved it.

Keep Those Lights On.....
From a call for help which is answered to a brutal murder and the aftermath. When Leah Talbot calls at a house for assistance following an accident, she has no idea of the nightmare she is walking into. From the first page to the last, a dark and tension mounting read. Keep those lights on....

Hooked from the first chilling chapter, I devoured this in one sitting. I don't think I could have pulled myself away if I had to.
Everything you want from a thriller.
