This has been on my TBR for several years now, and I can’t seem to make myself finish it. I’m sorry! I’m sure someone will love it, but it just isn’t for me.

I don't know what it is about Tenerife, but I've yet to read a book set there and NOT enjoy it immensely. Same thing with books about authors, there's something so meta! Ivy and Sebastian both felt so real (perhaps minus the weird spanglish attempts...) and their love story was organic. The "twists" weren't super twisty but I don't really WANT too many surprises in a romance novel.

Tried reading this one and it just was not meant for me. This does not mean that it is not a good book, I just was not in the right place to be reading it and have decided to not try picking it up anytime in the near future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Canelo for the opportunity to read and review this book. I am sharing my review voluntarily. This was a super cute book with well developed, relatable characters. I like this trope so much and this story delivered. I appreciated the detail and the climax. It was a little too saccharine for me at times but it didn’t overly detract from the appeal.

I received this digital arc from netgalley in exchange for am honest review. I've loved Lilac Mills' books before and I really enjoyed this too. It kept me occupied on a long drive back from holiday. An easy light hearted read with likeable characters and a good story line.

Cute story. Enjoyed it - really felt like a vacation. Though there was a moment when the heroine who'd been behaving like a lovelorn young woman mentioned she was in the 40-45 age range, and that really stunned me, as her behavior and mooning over a jerk so far had made her sound like she was in her mid-twenties, not even thirty. But once I managed to get past that, it was a nice sunny story

I liked this book and the writing style and am prefacing my review with this statement because I gave it three stars. This is mainly because I followed it up with another, more recent book by the author and liked it even better and found this to be the only way to differentiate between them.
This is a story of a writer in a slump, both professional and personal. She has been sent away to a retreat without much access to social media in order to write a new paranormal romance series- her speciality. It starts on an especially good note with her basing her new hero on the 'pool guy'. The protagonists' age was slightly older than the usual books of this family that I pick up, although to be fair, I did not pick up on that point till they talked of children. What follows is a pretty neat romance with a few surprises for our leading lady (not to the readers since followers of this genre will be able to see the facts before the revelations).
The writing flowed. It was the kind of book that one can read in a day or sitting.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley, the review is entirely based on my own reading experience of this book.

The story did not hold my attention and though well written it was too "sweet" for me and predictable. I did skim and can say that I believe many will read and enjoy this book and that I would have probably enjoyed it two or three decades ago. Thank you for the opportunity to read/review but as I have not read every word I do not feel I can give this book an in depth review. I wish it well.

Oh this book was so so good! I wasn't expecting to like this book that much! First of all, i loved being in Tenerife! (I need some holidays!!!) then I loved the main characters, I loved the fact that the main character ivy is a writer and I loved following her in the building of her new book, I love the way the romance build up in this book, I loved the male character Sebastian (he seems to be the dream guy! I am in love with him!!!), and I loved the suspens and mystery around Sebastian (even though I guessed almost everything quite rapidly but this doesn't matter). This book is really good! I totally recommend it! Go and buy it, you won't regret it! It's a page turner!

2.5 stars

'Holiday In The Hills' is a fun, light-hearted book following a romance novelist who is trying to write her new book in Tenerife, but is also falling in love with a man she meets there.

This book was fun and had such a good concept, I just don't think that this book was for me. It definitely isn't a bad book and I can see a lot of people really enjoying it, I just didn't really connect with the characters and found myself getting a bit bored and skim-reading most of it. I did really like all the scenes between Ivy and Sebastian and found those to be the most interesting parts of the story. The two of them also did have a lot of chemistry and I found Sebastian to be a really sweet love interest.

'Holiday In The Hills' was simply not a book for me, but I can definitely see a lot of people loving this so if you want something summery and fun with a beautiful setting then this is definitely the book for you.

Thank you to Canelo for providing me with an advance copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

What a highly enjoyable and sunny romantic escapism book that had me transported to Tenerife, complete with absolutely stunning guy, and an author who needs a retreat to see if she can be inspired past her writers block.

There is fabulous chemistry in this book and although I was fairly sure I had guessed what Sebastian was hiding, well the reveal still supplied some shocks and a fantastic conclusion.

There is a lot to love in this book, especially the villa, the surrounding area that Ivy is staying in, which is a rather remote part of Tenerife but that I could picture really clearly.

It's just a really enjoyable escapist read that I would have loved to have read poolside on holiday but it works on cold winters day as you can feel the heat coming from it.

Light hearted and entertaining, just what I wanted from this book. I loved it.

Thank you to Canelo and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This was a nice piece of fluff but got a bit bogged down in the cheesy writing as the book went on. The big reveal at the end was quite obvious and a bit too drawn out for me.

A very charming read, sweet, engaging, great characters, and a wonderful story that flowed wonderfully and kept me interested until the very end.

A really lovely read.

A fun, quick, read and a welcome escape from reality. These characters are lively, vulnerable, and fun to learn more about. I enjoyed the storyline and the twists along the way.
