Another wonderful book by Melinda Leigh. I love the world she has created and the characters she has developed in this series. The twists, the turns and trying to figure out who did it alway keeps me turning the pages. Can't wait for the next installment.

I love everything about this series.
Bree is as tough as they come and doesn’t hesitate to do her job.
Matt is a great side kick as is Brody.
I love that their relationship didn’t go from meeting to full on sex.
Everything about this series has been good and I just don’t want to stop reading.

Book 3 in the Bree Taggert series . A nice easy read though there wasn’t much of a storyline as well felt a lot of the book was based on the characters personal storylines from previous books in the series.

I have had this book on my NetGalley shelf for quite a while and finally had the opportunity to read it. I enjoy the Bree Taggert character as I feel she is consistent throughout all of Ms. Leigh's stories. I also appreciate the fact that there is a family feeling in Bree's life now, albeit happening tragically, as well as a romantic interest in Matt.

Another great police crime investigation, murder mystery romance, from this author. Bree and Matt are together solving the murders for the entire book and their romance throughout is slow relationship-build rather than steamy scenes. There are twists and turns in the murder plot, red herrings, lots of suspects, action scenes, drama, blood, shootouts, etc. You can read it as a stand alone. My only criticism is that I have no idea what Bree looks like. (I need to picture the H/h and I'm struggling). It might have been mentioned in the first book, but I can't remember. Apart from that, this is an excellent series, well written, dialogue and plot driven with each page moving the story forward. I love anything this author writes. My thanks go to NetGalley and Montlake for the eARC in return for my opinion. 4.5 stars.

This book can be read as a stand alone even though it is #3 in the series. This book keeps you engaged the whole way through. I have found myself a new author.!!

I really enjoy books by Melinda Leigh. This story was a great addition to the Bree Taggert series. I love how they are suspenseful, a lot of mystery, and keeps the readers on our toes trying to figure out the ending. This is another great book that is hard to put down until it is complete. I can't wait until the next book comes out in the series.

Drown Her Sorrows was another fantastic addition to the Bree Taggert series with an intriguing plot full of twists and turns.

After a long day Sheriff Bree Taggert is headed home when she receives a call about an abandoned car near a local bridge. As Bree searches the area, she discovers the body of a young woman on the bank of the river and a note in the woman's car suggests it was suicide. But after the autopsy, the case becomes a murder investigation leading to Bree pairing up with investigator Matt Flynn. As Bree and Matt begin their investigation, they discover the victim had a lot of secrets and each one gives someone a motive for murder. But when the prime suspect in the case is killed and someone close to Matt goes missing, it's a race against the clock before the killer strikes again.

The opening of Drown Her Sorrows where Bree and one of her officers search the area around the abandoned car was a great start to the book. Once Bree receives the autopsy results indicating Holly was murdered, the investigation really ramps up. We learn Holly's marriage was contentious, her sister was on her case about paying for their mother's care, and Holly may have been involved with her boss. Throughout the book, the case went in several directions including a few I didn't see coming. Ultimately I was very surprised by the identity of the killer as I had not suspected the person at all. The ending was suspenseful with the perfect amount of action and I was happy with the way everything was tied together.

Bree continues to excel as a main character. She's adapting well to the sheriff's position and I enjoyed getting to see her deal with a more administrative side to things in addition to investigating the case. With increased duties at work, Bree is having to figure out how to balance that with her home life and I'm looking forward to seeing how she continues to manage that going forward. I enjoyed Bree and Matt working together on the case as well as the little bits we see of their personal relationship. There once again isn't a ton of romance in the book so readers looking for more of a suspense book should enjoy this one.

Overall Drown Her Sorrows was a great read and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Right Behind Her, when it releases later this year.

You know I haven't found a Melinda Leigh book that I haven't liked and I sure didn't start with Drown Her Sorrows. Melinda Leigh is one of my favorite authors!

Drown Her Sorrows is book #3 in the Bree Taggert Series, written exclusively by Melinda Leigh. Bree Taggert is the Sherriff of Randolph County, NY (Gray's Hollow) and is settling in nicely and getting used to her new routine as caregiver to her niece and nephew, who were orphaned when her sister Erin was murdered in Book #1. We see that Bree is even settling in nicely with her relationship with Matt. I'll leave it at that!

What I love about this series is that each book builds on the same relationships a little more with each title, but without being redundant and boring! Each story brings a new storyline to the table and keeps you interested and anticipating the next and this one was no different! This story is full of twists and turns and is just a fulfilling story clear to the end.

Overall, Melinda Leigh has knocked it out of the park, YET AGAIN, with Drown Her Sorrows and left me anxiously awaiting the next book!

I would like to thank Melinda Leigh, Montlake and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of Drown Her Sorrows which has allowed me to provide this honest and unbiased review.

Sheriff Bree, Matt, and Brody made an excellent team, faced with a complex set of puzzling murders which manage to make inroads too close to Matt’s sister, this causes them great anxiety, as time seemed to be running out on them. This book had it all excitement, intrigue, romance, captivation, and intensely gripping. Filled with great characters and an ecliptic and electrifying storyline, this is a must-read.

This is a great series but Drown her Sorrows can be read as a stand alone. I love this series because there are so many great characters. I adore Bree and her adorable family as well as watching her relationship with Matt grow. It’s also great to see her adapt and settle in with her new team and deal with the heartbreak in her past.

With regards to the plot, there are a few twists and turns to keep you on your toes and keep you guessing. I was hooked until the end and the suspense had me on the edge of my seat. It’s a great pace. I look forward to more from this team.

I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

When Sheriff Bree Taggert discovers a body of a young woman floating near the bank of the Scarlet River, a note in the car suggesting it's a suicide but was it? The autopsy is not conclusive with the suggestion. Bree and her investigator Matt Flynn dive into the case, and the dead woman's secrets in her personal life complicate their efforts to solve the murder of Holly. Holly had a bad marriage, an equally bad relationship with her sister. Holly had an affair at work which was no secret. Each person had a motive for her murder. Holly’s sister is pranked by a stalker and the main suspect turns up dead. Everything Bree was sure of is blown up and her case goes crazily off track. The killer strikes too close to home, Bree and Matt must race to solve the murders before one of their own becomes the next victim. Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the advance ecopy.

When Sheriff Bree Taggert discovers the body of a young woman, Holly Thorpe, floating near the bank of the Scarlet River, a note in her abandoned car suggests suicide. The autopsy reveals a different story.

As Bree and her investigator Matt Flynn delve into the case, secrets in Holly’s personal life complicate their efforts to solve the murder. Holly left behind a volatile marriage, an equally divisive relationship with her sister, and an employer whose intimate involvement with Holly was no secret. Each one has a motive for murder.

When Holly’s sister is terrorized by a stalker’s sick prank, and the prime suspect turns up dead, everything Bree was sure of is upended and her case goes off the rails. When the killer strikes close to home, Bree and Matt must race to solve the murders before one of their own becomes the next victim.

Even though I haven’t read the first two books of this series, I was able to connect and read it as a standalone.

The plot is well written, the characters, Bree and Matt, are excellent and there are enough twists throughout the book to keep you hooked on right till the end. You can keep guessing who is the killer, but I doubt you will get it right!

Having enjoyed this, I am excited to read the next book in the series to see what is Bree’s next challenge and how her budding relationship with Matt develops. But before that, I’ll catch up on the previous two books in this series!

Thank You NetGalley and Montlake for this ARC!

Bree and Matt are at it again. The Sherriff and her Investigator make a great team both at work and at play. As they search for the truth surrounding Holly's suspicious death, they make many twists and turns along the way. In true Melinda Leigh fashion, we are left guessing and wrong through the whole book! I enjoy the Bree Taggert series immensely and can't wait for the next one! This is one series you shouldn't pass up.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. I literally couldn’t put this book down and finished in one reading. Such a of all of these series. I literally couldn’t put this down until I found out the truth. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishing house and the author for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.

This is the third book in the Bree Taggert series; it could easily be read as a standalone book. I have read the other two books in the series and have enjoyed them all equally. In this installment of the series Bree Taggart is now the sheriff as well as the guardian of her niece and nephew; she is trying to do the best for everyone. With her fledgling relationship with Matt showing us her vulnerable side, it’s like catching up with an old friend.

When sheriff Taggart is called to the scene of what looks like an apparent suicide, it looks like a simple case but then things take a different turn when they discover that it was in fact murder. Lots of twists and turns as they follow the case and as another murder takes place, the suspects multiply. Will Bree get too close to the truth, will she make it out alive and solve the case. I love the way this author writes her characters, they are so authentic and likeable.

Cannot wait for the the next book in this series.
