Fun and lighthearted easy read - my go to genre of books and I knew from the cover and title it was one I’d like. Would likely read more from this author.
This was a cute story. This dog totally won my heart, and it was easy to see how he caught the hearts of all the people in the book. It was an easy read - little to no personal drama, and that was really refreshing. I kept expecting something bad or nasty to happen, but it didn't throughout, and it made for a rather lovely ride. Loved the scenery of the Outer Hebrides, and the setting of the book totally came alive. A perfect read for a cosy day
I had The Dog Share sat on my shelf for the longest time and I only wish I’d read this cute feel-good novel sooner!
I thoroughly enjoyed being transported to the Hebrides and following Suzy on her journey to win over a community her ex almost destroyed. As a dog lover I was sold on the title and loved getting to know Scout. It was lovely seeing the relationship between Suzy and Scout form - imo everyone needs a dog (or two!)
I also liked the dual narrative and the introduction of the other MC Ricky. This brought an added storyline to The Dog Share.
Overall a lovely read with a little romance.
The Dog Share
by Fiona Gibson
Suzy’s life is falling apart her ex had left her holding the debt ridden business they owned together. She is struggling until a stray called Scout adopts her and she starts to turn her life around making new friends thanks to Scout.
A well written book full of some very lovely characters and some not so nice ones. There is also a very slow burn romance bubbling throughout the story for an added bonus.
A great feel good book the star obviously is Scout.
This was such a cute and funny read which was also light and uplifting, I loved the story and the premise and it definitely cheered me up
Suzie’s day goes from bad to worse but a little terrier turns up at her door. Abandoned, just like Suzie, she takes the dog in calling it Scout. Her chaotic world begins to change with new friendships and now she can’t wait to get home. A chance encounter on a windswept beach makes life even more complicated.
It was lovely to see how Scout helped create so many different relationships
A funny, uplifting story about friendship and new beginnings. Another great book by this author
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. I have read another book from this author, so I was excited to receive an ARC from her again. This was a very cute book. Perfect romcom.
Wonderfully written, deeply emotional, fun, entertaining and most importantly with the cutest little mutt you will ever meet. As an owner of two, one being a scruffy little terrier )or should that be terror?!!) I instantly fell head over heels in love with Scout, that little terrier stole every scene, definitely the best character in the entire book. This is a shame as the humans in the story wwren't too shabby themselves, but as a dog lover, any dog will steal my attention. I also have to mention my second love, anything to do with Scotland and the Islands - No, I have never been there unless you count my imagination - but I still feel as though my heart should be there. so the setting as well as the dog stole my heart too.
The story is a simple one of starting over and second chances and friendship, with romance and lots of emotion and few laughs this is a great read and I can't wait to read more from the author.
This book had a really cute premise. I liked the added element of the dog. I also liked the varying POVs and all of the characters. I am sorry I waited so long to read this one. It was pretty cute!
I really wanted to read this one and applied for the audiobook/ebook and for approved for both which I wasn’t expecting! I listened to the audiobook of this one and the narrators were both brilliant! I got lost in this story when listening, the story is so sweet! This poor dog who has been abandoned on the island becomes adopted by Suzy when he turns up on her doorstop and also finds friendship with a little boy and his Dad. Whilst Suzy is trying to sort out her own life and the mess her ex has left her in with a failing brewery, she quickly comes to realise what she needs might not quite be what she was expecting!
Loved this cute and sweet book! This story is all about second chances and getting a "redo" to do things differently. I loved it and flew through it! Highly recommend.
This one was a DNF' for me I'm afraid. I struggled to follow what was happening for the first 30% of the book and don't really know what was happening. It definitely didn't seem to be the book I was expecting to read.
I was really disappointed by this story. I’m a huge dog lover and was expecting to love this romantic story involving a wonderful four legged friend.
I was let down hugely on the romantic side, it wasn’t a feature until at least half way through. I didn’t have much of a connection with any of the characters and I’m sad to say I was happy when it finished.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t the one for me.
I got this as an ARC from Net Galley, tried a few times to start it. Now I picked it up again. I got 80% into it, then DNF'd it. I The book was confusing for me. So I stopped.
What a gorgeous cover! This was a highly enjoyable read, the concept was extremely fun and I really loved the characters.
This read was such a surprise!! When I first started it, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to get in to it. I couldn’t really see where the story was going well at first. I pushed through and I’m glad I did. This ended up being a cute, sweet read!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The cover drew me in immediately as did the blurb but unfortunately the story fell a bit flat at first but after a while I was drawn in I wanted the couple to be a couple more. With that said this is a great story that I would recommend.
Oh now look here, another doggy centered book read and she doesn't even 'do dogs!' Yep! That'll be me!..... And er, no, I still don't want a dug, no thank you! 🐶🚫

But I DID love this book, turns out dogs in book form, I like 👍 not only that, I liked the easy flowing writing style and storyline in this one. Some may say predictable but ach i didn't mind it so much (I think books set anywhere in Scotland just automatically get top marks from me so I'm probably definitely completely biased🤣😉)

I read The Dog Share along with the lovely Lucy @library_of_lucyg because we both recently read The Woman who took a chance which we both enjoyed so we decided to read this one together (Do check out Lucy's review too btw!) We both felt with this one the story flowed better, and Lucy enjoyed it the most out of the two whereas I really liked all of the dates in TWWTAC and because the plots were so different from each other I felt I couldn't really compare.

Totally recommended The Dog Share though, it was funny and.... did I mention it's set in Scotland? 🤣 No? Well that too! 👍
Was not able to read the entirety of the book and cannot give an accurate or overall rating/review . As a librarian for a big library system, we most likely have a copy of this item. I will look forward to reading it in future since I am sure I will.
I love Fiona Gibson books, and this one was no exception.
I love a good book with a dog as a main character, especially when the dog brings the people in the book together.
I think that the love story in the book could have taken a little more flushing out, but the Scotland setting was fun to read, since i have never been but that is where my family comes from.
All in all, it's a fun read and I would recommend it for a good beach read.
