I just couldn't really get into this one purely due to the fact that I didn't like ANY of the characters.

Yes I know that its obviously written in that way, I'm not meant to like them BUT I couldntbconnect or relate to them in any way at all which is s massive negative for me.

The lead character Chloe was just way to easy to be manipulated,, her thoughts were very questionable and her actions were just ridiculous.

I tried, I tried and I tried again but this one just didnt work for me.

Two Wrongs by Rebecca Reid follows the lives of two women, Chloe and Zadie who form an intense friendship whilst attending university. The story is told in two timelines, the first when Chloe arrives at university and is to be sharing a room in the Halls of Residence. Shy Chloe is looking forward to meeting her new roommate, Zadie but she doesn’t turn up as she has other plans and is staying instead with her boyfriend, Max, in a house owned by his parents. Eventually, Chloe meets Zadie and soon she is spending more and more time partying with Zadie and her crowd, as she becomes enraptured by her new friend. She falls behind with her coursework and then everything changes when Zadie disappears after a wild evening at a 21st birthday celebration party for Max.

Moving on to the present day, Chloe is happily married to Rav but she is haunted still by Zadie's vanishing and she cannot escape the feeling that she let her friend Zadie down very badly. When Max breezes back into her life she knows she must try to put things right...

Rebecca Reid's dark novel is a wonderfully riveting and engrossing read. The rather disturbing story-line contains some exemplary characterisation and it was interesting to read about how easily Chloe became obsessed with her friend's hedonistic lifestyle and the impact it had. An ordinary hard-working student, she is willing to jeopardise her university place for her friendship with Zadie. Privileged Zadie comes across as spoilt, selfish, and needy, though underneath she is clearly troubled and vulnerable. The author's tremendously good writing meant I never lost interest. Gripping throughout, I adored Two Wrongs and I’m looking forward to reading Rebecca Reid's other thrillers, Perfect Liars and The Truth Hurts as well as her next offering.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Random House UK, Transworld Publishers/ Corgi via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Chloe starts uni and meets party girl Zadie.....so vibrant and different to what she is used to....she is easily led into her party world and then she dramatically disappears. Such a great story about the past and present and the changes we all go through. Loved the way the characters were written.

This book is about Chloe who goes to university and meets Zadie who is very carefree unlike Chloe. It doesn't take long for Chloe to get involved in Zadie's lifestyle and to ditch her studies. Zadie has a boyfriend called Max who Zadie lives with off campus. One night things go very wrong........... I enjoyed this book very much

This book was a mess from beginning to end. The characters were unlikeable, the book took every cliché possible and user it, but not in a good way. The representation of mental health has not changed at all compared to books ten years ago - there's no evolving in plot and characters whatsoever. It made no difference. This book could have been published in 2010 for all I know.
I was expecting more from a thriller published in 2020/2021. I felt very disappointed. This book is not how I wanted to start my year. Please, step away from clichés and stigma. Please, let's stop tabooing mental health issues. We are here. We are real. And we are misrepresented. It's harmful.

I received a free ARC by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Chloe and Zadie are friends at Uni. They have a strange, obsessive relationship.
Zadie lives with her boyfriend Max. They are rich and very different from Chloe but Chloe quickly becomes entwined in their lives and lifestyle.
The story is told in present day and the past at university when Zadie mysteriously disappeared.
Chloe has tried to find her over the subsequent fifteen years with no success.
Max turns up in present day and Chloe is determined to find out what happened to her friend all those years ago.
I struggled a bit with the characters as they weren’t very likeable and Chloe was also unbelievable at times. Still there was enough there to make me continue reading and find out what really happened.
A good read. 3.5 stars ⭐️
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for a fair review.

This is a truly tripping, page turning thriller.
The story is told through Chloe's present and past perspectives, and Zaide's past perspective too.
I found this read so compelling, I read it within a day. The many twists and turns that are laced through this perfectly constructed plot really gets under your skin and leaves you wanting more.
The suspense levels rose as the story neared the end, and I am honestly amazed I have any finger nails left as it had me biting them as I awaited answers!

A thrilling page turner that you must read.

Two Wrongs by Rebecca Reid is her newest release, and I must say that every since her first book I have been a Rebecca Reid fan! When I was invited to take part in Damp Pebbles Blog Tour for the book I was so happy! Well thank you for asking Emma and thank you Rebecca for a copy of Two Wrongs.
This story follows Chloe in the present day were she is married to Rav and we time slip back to her University days, where we see a normal, ordinary student who meets Zadie, an occasional roommate. Zadie is everything Chloe feels she isn't and begins to get pulled into Zadie's world. A world that is almost like a balloon, it is good while it lasts but something has to give...and give it does. Back in the present day, Chloe bumps into Zadie's long gone boyfriend, Zack she receives terrible news which again, draws her onto a dangerous path.
This book is as addictive and compelling as Rebecca's other books. I personally loved the plot and the characters had me hooked. I love a story where the characters feel real and these are so believable, flaws and all. A twisty story that was well-paced with a conclusion that was satisfying for me.
So another fantastic tale from Rebecca Reid now I am waiting for her next one.

Read this book really quickly. At first I was slightly confused about the shift in time but as soon as I know the characters it all fell in place. Really enjoyed it.

This is a gripping thriller, filled with lies, deceit and regret. It’s written really well, from Chloe’s perspective in present and past tense and Zaide’s from the past.

I raced through this in one sitting because it was addictive and every twist and turn made me want more. The storyline was dark and a little disturbing, but that made it all the better. So many times you thought something else would happen as it eluded to it, but it didn’t.

The ending/ conclusion was an absolute shocker to me, not at all what I expected. In fact, when Chloe reflects on baby Rose it is in fact a cliff hanger as you don’t actually know.

Would definitely recommend!

Chloe is an ordinary, fairly boring sort of girl who arrives at university and comes under the thrall of Zadie, a self-obsessed, addicted, angst ridden girl who has little intention about what will happen in her life, other than having a good time. Zadie 'shares' a room with Chloe, but is never there; she lives with her boyfriend Max, all paid for by his parents.

The story jumps around, from past to present and from the viewpoints of (mostly) Chloe and Zadie. Apparently something dreadful happened at Max's 21st birthday party and Zadie disappeared out of Chloe's life, leaving her obsessed for years with what has happened to her friend.

The story is fairly fragmented, and I could summon little sympathy for these characters - Zadie is just on a course of self destruction and seems incapable of trying to sort herself out; Chloe is weak and swayed by whoever speaks to her last; Rav is a man with secrets and Max is smug and privileged.

Its a reasonable read, but I found the style quite disjointed and it just did not grab my interest. It was all rather predictable.

This was an okay read, but I found the characters infuriating. The storyline of a girl's obsession with a new friend is becoming very common and needs to be sensational to be remembered. This wasn't anything special for me.
I think the plot should have been more sinister and twisty to keep me more engaged.

My thanks to NetGalley and publisher Random House UK, Transworld Publishers /Corgi, for the ARC.

Although I found this book an OK read I also found it almost gratuitously focussed on the dysfunctional and distasteful aspects of the excesses of partying one's way through university - especially if you have family money.

Told from the past and present, Chloe, from humble background, is roomed with Zadie on arrival at university. However, Zadie had no intention of rooming within the campus and moves in with her wealthy boyfriend Max in a large house off-campus. Chloe is gradually absorbed into a world of continuous parties where drinking and drug-taking are the norm. Zadie seems to be born to it; Chloe regards her as her best friend, until she has to realise that things just cannot continue and has to start concentrating on her studies, leaving Zadie for most of the time. When Zadie disappears one night Chloe is convinced the boyfriend Max was responsible and fifteen years later she's determined to prove it as Max returns from Australia and wants to re-kindle friendships from the past.

But, there are some things which Chloe doesn't know about Zadie, or Max, or her husband Rav and things take a very sinister turn.

A good enough read.

This was quite a good book , no surprises but it was interesting to see the now and before stories of their lives . I would recommend the book but not the best I’ve ever read

Two Wrongs by Rebecca Reid follows a dual timeline of now and then. The now focuses on Chloe’s life fifteen years after the disappearance of her friend Zadie. While the then flashbacks to fifteen years ago when Chloe first met Zadie at university. Woven in between the now and then is insight from Zadie.

I really liked the idea of the storyline and I found it to be interesting in most parts. I found myself not really liking Chloe because I think she had an unhealthy obsession with Zadie to the point where she was only interested in partying and doing what Zadie wanted to do. Zadie was also an awful and selfish character who only cared about herself.

I think Chloe was even worse fifteen years later because she was still obsessed with Zadie and kept blaming someone else for what happened. I found the ending to not be as exciting as I thought it would be. The reveal of what actually happened was a bit flat for me and I thought that it needed more drama or something.

I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.

Two Wrongs - Rebecca Reid

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review thanks to Random House UK, Transworld Publishers and Netgalley.

When Chloe goes to university and meets wild, carefree Zadie, she is utterly seduced by her and her lifestyle. It doesn't take long for Chloe to ditch her studies in favour of all-night parties at Zadie's huge house off campus.

But when something goes badly wrong one night and Zadie disappears in the aftermath, Chloe knows she should have done more to help her friend. It's something she'll always regret.

Fifteen years later, Chloe finally gets the chance to make it right. But in order to do so, she'll have to put everything at stake . . .

This book is told in two different timelines; now and then. Then is set fifteen years earlier when Chloe was at university with Zadie, Now is set in the current time where Chloe is married to Zav.

Whilst I found myself wanting to know what had happened to Zadie, I couldn’t help but feel that more could have been done with the storyline.

Rating 3/5

A quick and easy book to read.

This was a really enjoyable book that centers around Chloe who is at the memorable time of her life and starting university. When Chloe meets her roommate Zadie she automatically wants to be her friend, the two girls are worlds apart , Zadie is beautiful, popular and rich, however Zadie also has a side to her that not many people get to see and after an incident at a party Zadie disappears never to be seen or heard of again.
A great story that unravels well and looks at friendships, lies and betrayals.

This was an interesting read. The plot is narrated across chapters elaborating events that occurred in the past and the current happenings.

Even though I found the main character, Chloe’s actions naïve most of the times, it was actually believable. The events that take place in this book are quite common in university life. People tend to succumb to peer pressure just to regret it later.

I just couldn’t figure out what was the main issue being dealt with in the book. Was it mental health? Or peer pressure? Unbalanced relationships? Or something else. Because it was as if all these issues were dumped together but none of them were not dealt with completely.

So, overall an okay read. Main highlight being the revelations at the end but not an exciting read because I felt that something was missing.

Fifteen years later, Chloe finally gets the chance to make it right. But she'll have to put everything at stake to do so.

This is an easy book to read. It has a believable plotline. The story is told in the past in flashbacks and the present day. I didn't like Chloe, she was quite naive. I did think the plotline had more potential. This is quite a dark read.
