I received an arc from NetGalley for an honest review. Any book that starts with poo will be a big hit for little kids, and everyone loves the zoo.
This book was a total hit with my kid, but how could it not be- anything that calls out smelly animal poo is 100% right up his alley. A nice balance of animal facts, humor, and lovely drawings!

I'm not sure what the real purpose of this book was. The children liked the naming all the animals in the book, but they weren't that bothered by the story, a rhyming verse story about a family day out.
The cover was a bit bland and dated, however, the kids enjoyed talking about all the animals and that was interesting.
The illustrations were cute.
My son enjoyed the pictures and wording.
A nice book about a trick to the zoo for young children.
This book is outdated as we are learning how zoos are not proper places for non-humans to live. Had this been about a visit to a non-profit wildlife sanctuary with appropriate space and enrichment for the animals profiled and I would have found it to be much better. Also need to mention that there is an additional outdated idea that fat shaming is okay. The illustrations were cute but not enough so for me to overlook the issues I found with this book.
Thank you to J.P. Pintor, Troubadour Publishing Ltd, and #NetGallery for an ARC of #WehavebeentotheWildlifeZoo in return for an honest review. Review will be posted on NetGallery and Goodreads.
We have been to the Wildlife Zoo is a gorgeous little book that kept my 4 year old son engaged throughout.
We both loved all the illustrations and the rhyming verses - A fantastic read that I would definitely recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher.for my ARC.
I dont normally read childrens books but it was about a zoo and I love animals so I just had to read it.
From the start the diagrams jumped out at me. Seeing all the different animals in the diagrams made me smile. The colours were beautiful aswell.
The pages were written to rhyme to make it easier for children to understand.
Children will love this book.
I read this book with my daughter and she loved guessing and naming the animals.
The book was well written and the story was easy to follow.
The illustrations were lovely and worked really well with the story to bring it to life.
It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
We have been to the wildlife zoo is a rhyming picture book for children about a families day out to the wildlife zoo and what they saw.
The second page in this book will give children a good giggle as will a few other pages within the book. Children will delight in seeing so many beautifully illustrated animals within this book.
A rhyming tale of a day at the zoo. Will perhaps teach children to identify different animals. I didn't love it because the illustrations were just okay and it had no real point. Plus it shames a random guy eating ice cream.
Review to be posted October 14th to my blog and Goodreads.

I haven't been able to visit any kind of zoo since early March, so when I saw this book about a family going to the zoo I just had to request it. I just had to read it. Some way at least to visit a zoo. As we probably won't be able to just freely go until next year, maybe even longer (though I hope not).
In this book we meet a family who is having a fun day at the zoo. We see all sorts of animals appear (like a llama wearing a bright red sweater which had me laughing so hard) and read descriptions of them. I am glad we also saw my favourites, like the hippos and the meerkats. Haha, and baby penguins do try to look cool, that is very true. And that bear, OMG. But how can people eat too many ice creams? There is never enough of that, believe me! This though made me miss getting ice creams. *sighs*
I have to say it was getting a bit too long in my feeling. There are 51 pages in this one. After around 30 pages I kind of had enough. I love the zoo, and yes, I was happy I could visit the zoo again, but it just felt too long-winded. I think it would have been better to have picked a top 10 or 15 of animals to show, maybe add some other scenes in as well to get to the 30 pages to fill it up a bit. Because going to the zoo for me also means getting a souvenir. Checking some other exhibits as well (they often have flowers/plants, butterflies, or museum items).
The art... it wasn't always a favourite of mine. Some things were really nicely done, especially the animals.
But all in all, I still had fun coming along with this family to a trip to a zoo. I so hope next year we can go to zoos again. *crosses fingers* I want to spy all these animals for real now.
