Wow what an emotional read this one was. It was also compelling and thought provoking, especially as a parent who is scared shitless as my kids approach their teenaged years.

From the synopsis: Grace first met Mimi when she blew into their sons’ toddler playgroup like a warm bay breeze that loosened Grace’s tight spaces. Despite differing approaches to life and parenting, the fast friends raised their kids together while cementing a sisterlike bond that neither believed could be broken. But when a string of ill-fated decisions results in a teen party with a tragic outcome for Grace’s son, the friendship is ripped apart and an already-splintered community explodes.

At its heart this book explores how seemingly simple choices can have life altering consequences and it does so through the viewpoints of two mothers who both deeply care about their children and each other. It was one of those books that makes you wonder what you would do if you were in each characters shoes and I spent a lot of time contemplating various scenarios and outcomes. This would be a great pick for a book club as there’s so much to discuss, and I think some really interesting conversations could spring from a discussion about this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Grace and Mimi, bestfriends, who's lives are intwined by love, as close as sisters find themselves torn apart by a tragedy that is felt throughout the community. As Grace is swamped by heartbreak at the tragedy that had befallen her son, rage and revenge take a hold. Mimi plagued with guilt does everything she can to help her bestfriend and her family through it, even if it's from the sidelines. This is a story of friendship, love, grief, guilt and anger. It follows these two families as they make their journey through the ups and downs and hopefully will come out the other side of it as better people and stronger than ever. Well written and a great addition to the series.

I wasn't really sure what to expect with this one although I've enjoyed the previous Potomac Point stories, I started and stopped a few times. However, once I was in the right headspace, I couldn't stop reading this story. Through most of the story, I had a really difficult time liking Grace. I know there are reasons and many of those reasons are really quite valid, but her inability to see past her own pain to others who were equally in pain was hard for me. My mind and spirit went back to my childhood and my inability to reconcile issues in my past with my Mom and how that may have affected me as an adult. Only then was I able to face the fact that I would have been just like her and perhaps I was able to have more empathy for her. Mimi in my mind was an amazing character who just had my spirit from the beginning. While painful, this story happens all the time. Families are torn apart by the smallest of decisions that become earthshattering realities and not all can make it through. Does Grace have the ability to forgive her best friend? Her husband? A community at large?

5 Stars for this very emotional story!

I could not put this book down. The story was so compelling and pulled at all my heartstrings. It's every mother's worst nightmare ... your child gets hurt and you have no control over their well-being. In fact, you feel that your choices were the cause. And Grace's life and relationships just spiraled from there. She let the guilt get to her and couldn't let go of the blame ... to herself and others. Grace's husband Sam tried to make her see reason to no avail. I felt so sorry for Mimi (Grace's best friend) ... she was trying to do the right thing and it backfired ... big time. She has such a good heart and always thought of everyone else before herself. One night changed two families lives forever.

This is one of those books that will stay with me for long time. My heart actually hurt and I have tears in my eyes as I write this review. I highly recommend this book!

For All She Knows is the third book in the Potomac Point series, but don't worry if you haven't read the first two, each book is a standalone novel.

This book touched on themes of teen-age bullying, underage drinking and partying and different styles of parenting (strict vs relaxed). I thought all the themes were told accurately and honestly, though I didn't necessarily agree with parts of either style of parenting. This is also the story of two very different women who against all odds form a lasting friendship and respect for each other.

I received an advanced copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

For All She Knows by Jamie Beck is the third book in the Potomac Point Women's Fiction Series.

This is a wonderful book that can definitely be read as a stand alone novel.

This novel is an emotional, poignant story of family, love, parenthood, and friendship in and out of marriage. At the core of the story is family and how they cope during traumatic events.

The story is told in two different perspectives, which worked really well for this story.
The characters were complex, well developed and complicated.

The author did a fantastic job at addressing the difficult topics of teen drinking and bullying.

I really enjoyed this book . Another 5 star read from Jamie Beck

WOW, this story spoke to me! I have kids entering high school this and this topic of teenage drinking worries me the most! I most related to Grace, I understood her and her reasoning from the get-go. Grace liked control, not letting her kids go into a situation that could potentially end badly or result in them making bad decisions. When she relinquished that control and something did go horribly wrong, she went in protection mode and took everything personal. Grace was looking for sides, she needed her husband and friends to be on her side even when they didn’t agree. Grace needed someone to blame and she needed justice in a bitter fight that could tear apart her marriage, her family, her friendships and the town. I was so happy Grace saw through the pain and the tragedy and realized what was important before it was too late and irreparable damage was done to her relationships and those of her children.
The author did a fantastic job writing this story and taking me on a journey with the characters! I couldn’t imagine being in their shoes and it’s a topic that should be discussed more often. I highly recommend!

This story takes you on a roller coaster ride; giving you highs, lows, and in-betweens. From page one, For All She Knows by the talented Jamie Beck, book three in her Potomac Point series, grabbed me and held me hostage until I turned the last page, finishing the story. This is a story of two mothers, different in all ways possible, from their own upbringings to the choices they make in how they raise their own children; based on their own upbringing. It is also about their friendship, their families, and the ability to forgive when an accident tears these two friends apart. What follows is a story of hurt, questions, the possible end of a friendship, and the people of Potomac Point divided, with everyone taking sides; whether their assumptions are correct or not. The adults involved suffer under the weight of blame for decisions made, causing one family to be in upheaval, their solid marriage crumbling by blaming themselves, unable to forgive anyone, as well as the effect from past mistakes. There’s also the fallout on the single mother, her business, and possibly her current custody agreement; especially when she a second chance at love affects those involved. There’s also the hospitalization, treatment and physical therapy needed by the injured son as he tries to recover, the immense expenses not covered by insurance, accusations, accountability litigation, and everyone taking sides. With their lives falling apart, the former friends stand to lose everything they love unless they learn to forgive; both themselves and each other. You will need to keep tissues nearby while reading this story.

Ms. Beck writes to the soul; the soul of her characters as well the soul of her readers. This wonderful and amazing story was emotional, moving, tear inducing, filled with wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters that is must read. I highly recommend For All She Knows to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

For All She Knows is one of the most emotional books I've read so far this year. I so badly wanted to wrap each and every character in a hug at many points throughout this book and it hit me deeply as I moved through the story. It truly showcased how life can change in an instant.

Grace and Mimi have been friends for years and they have more of a sisterly bond. When the consequences of decisions made by both of them, along with their teenaged sons and Grace's husband, Sam, set in motion a devastating accident, none of them will ever be the same. Each of the characters have multiple layers and as the reader, you can feel their pain and feel the anguish as everything unfolds. While all of this is difficult enough, living in a small town only complicates the issue when the community begins to take sides.

This is a novel that deals with marriage, friendship, guilt, blame and forgiveness. Jamie Beck has a way of writing characters that you empathize with and you feel everything they are feeling. She also doesn't shy away from writing about difficult topics and handling them with grace. There is no doubt this book is going to stay with me for some time to come.

Life changes in an instant for Grace, Mimi, and their families after an unsupervised teenage party goes tragically wrong. For All She Knows focuses on the aftermath of the devastating injury to Grace's son and how the two women, who are best friends, deal with it.

This book resonated with me because of how realistic the accident circumstances are and the reactions of all involved. Dealing with the consequences of their choices and the repercussions of a teenage drinking party, both Mimi and Grace have to face some hard truths about their lives and shortcomings. There's blame for all involved. The cost of their mistakes was severe. The contrast between how Mimi and Grace face this difficult time is stark. Mimi relies on love and faith while Grace is consumed with anger, blame, and regret. I found myself empathizing with both women as they navigated this difficult time. Although Grace did wear on me slightly towards the end, she seems to get too caught up in vengeance for her son. Regardless, both Mimi and Grace have aha moments that turn the trauma and tragedy into something that ultimately makes their lives better.

For All She Knows made me ponder how I would have handled some of the parenting and friendship challenges that the characters faced as well as my ability to forgive myself and the others involved. This book begs discussion after you finish it! For this reason, For All She Knows would make an excellent book club book with lots of rich discussions on these topics. I truly enjoyed this nuanced look at how tragedy can impact a marriage, parenting, friendships, and the community.

This was an emotional read. Grace and Mimi are best friends - they have sons the same age which is how they met. Grace and Sam are a loving couple, Mimi is divorced and raising her son basically on her own. Grace had a terrible childhood and strives to give her children an upbringing so completely different from her own. Grace blames her mother for her terrible childhood, she blames herself for her sister's decision and when an accident leaves her son possibly paralyzed, all Grace's issues with her past make it difficult for her to navigate her future. Grace struggles pretty much the entire book and finally finds peace and the ability to deal with the family crisis she is facing and move forward.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Net Galley. For All She Knows is a very timely read. It is the emotional story of a teen party gone wrong, and the turmoil and devastation that occurs afterward throughout families, friends, and the community. Important issues such as bullying, teen-aged drinking, and parenting styles are explored. This is an emotional read, and I cried more than once because I felt as if I were going through this tragedy with the characters in the story. Jamie Beck’s writing is riveting, and this book is one that should not be missed!

This was a riveting story about the divisions created after a teenage party goes wrong.

Best friends Mimi and Grace don't always see eye to eye, but they are always there for one another. They have vastly different parenting styles and home lives, but they always manage to find common ground. But when a teenage party ends in a major injury they find themselves divided and don't know if their friendship will survive this.

In Grace's household, they have structure and systems in place to keep everything running smoothly. She has a great marriage and ten year old daughter and a fifteen year old son. She is active in their community and pretty much respected by everyone.

Mimi is a single mother who takes a much more laid back approach to parenting her own fifteen year old son, Rowan. But it has always worked well for her. She and her son have a good relationship and she allows him certain freedoms that other parents may find controversial.

While Carter and Rowan were friends growing up, they have grown apart in their teen years due to different interests and friend groups. When Carter is invited to Rowan's house for a small gathering of he and his fellow jock friends, Grace is reluctant to allow him to go, knowing that Mimi allows her son to drink in the house. She ultimately relents, but never could have imagined that this gathering would turn into an actual party and that her son would get hurt.

Now, police are involved, Carter is dealing with an injury that could alter his life completely, and Grace and Mimi's friendship is in a place it may never come back from. This book shows what happens when even the simplest of choices can make a huge impact. This party that got out of hand creates ripples through the community and everyone is taking a side.

I thought this was incredibly intriguing. I could see and empathize with multiple view points in this situation. IT was a terrible situation that leave so many people shaken. It was really interesting to see how friendships, relationships and acquaintances alike were affected through the course of this book. It was like a domino effect that was changing and morphing things as it went down through.

This definitely gave me some things to think about in the realm of blame, bullying and the "boys will be boys" way of thinking. Truly an enjoyable book that left me realizing - we all tell ourselves this stuff would never happen to me or my family... but, the realization that we are ALL susceptible to tragedies and things that we never expect - really hit me while reading this.

Wow! This was such an emotional read. I realized after finishing this book that it is part of a series, but it seems each book focuses on a different family so it can be read as a stand-alone.

This story focuses on parenthood and navigating relationships. Parenting is hard and the teen years only being new things to worry about. We meet Grace and Mimi in this book, two mothers with very different parenting styles, but who have a deep love for each other and their families.

When Grace agrees to let her son attend a party at Mimi’s house, she knows alcohol may be present because Mimi is a parent who believes teens are going to drink anyway so she may as well give them a safe place to do it...but Grace trusts that her son will be responsible and leave if things get rowdy. What Grace never imagined was that she’d get a frantic phone call from Mimi informing her that Carter has been injured and that paramedics are on the way.

This single event manages to destroy their friendship and shatters Grace. She can’t move beyond her anger and lashes out at everyone who tries to get through to her to let go of this anger and focus on her son healing. Grace won’t listen to her husband, her mother, her daughter and cuts Mimi off completely. She has never felt so alone in her grief and goes to a very dark place. And the thing eating at her the most is her own guilt- she can’t forgive herself for giving Carter permission to go to the party that changed their lives. How can she move on and repair the relationships that were ripped apart...is it too late?

I could not put this book down! It was absolutely heart wrenching, but such a powerful story of forgiveness. I loved hearing from the characters and the different ways they processed what happened- they all felt so real to me. I found myself wiping tears throughout this book and can’t wait to read more from Jamie Beck.

Thank you Netgalley and Montlake for this advance reading copy. This book will be available 3/30/21.

Two mothers, two best friends, and one fatal night that changes their lives, their families, friends and the community they live in.

Jamie Beck gives us a highly emotional story about how life can change in a blink when a decision is made and the consequences have put a child in the hospital. Grace and Mimi have been best friends since their boys were just toddlers in a play group and they families lived in each other lives. This fatal night puts that friendship in jeopardy as blame they try to figure out who is really to blame for this tragedy. There are accusations are made, and people take sides, lawyers are hired and each day Grace feels her live unraveling when she feels those close to her are not taking her side. She can’t turn to her best friend Mimi, because she is part of all of these feelings.

And while Mimi is trying to help, she has her own worries as her ex is trying to change their custody agreement with their son, and she does not know who is a friend or foe, one person she never expected to come into her life, was the young police officer who just give her a new chance to find the love she always wanted to find.

Mini and Grace must try hard to forgive and build a new friendship. Grace must try to find her way back to her husband and her children. But how can they where there is so much hurt and blame.

I could not put this book down once I started to read it, and it grabbed me because it brought back a tragedy in my own family that tore a family and friends apart. It was like reliving in a time in my life that still today has not mended and what happens stays with the people involved their whole lives. Jamie and Grace must try hard to forgive and build a new friendship. Jamie Beck does an excellent job of navigating through this tragedy to get to the heart of all the hurt and blame, to heal and find their way back to their hearts and friendship. It’s a powerfully emotional book that will not regret reading.
Thank you Montlake and Netgalley for the chance to read and review this powerful story.

A powerful page-turner from a writer at the top of her game. For All She Knows examines the fallout from an all-too common community problem, teenage drinking, but it's is also close study of friendship, the ways relationships with other women can uplift or destroy us, and a heartbreaking and riveting examination of one woman at the point of shattering. Ultimately uplifiting.

Wow!!! Where do I start???
Have you ever just read a book that isn’t part of your go-to genre and be absolutely blown away by the way it effects you?

I am an avid (if not rabid) reader of Jamie Beck’s books, but I tend to go for the light hearted romance stories that all pretty much follow the same pattern. Well, that is NOT what this book is. This story has so much emotion with highs and lows and even lower lows. It has definitely made a mark on my heart. I actually found myself crying in bed the other night, not while reading, but while thinking about the situation the FICTIONAL characters were in.

Jamie - you created a world that I could see playing out in front of me and with having a son the same age as Carter and Rowan, you had me hooked! I will never forget the characters I met in this story - that’s definitely a major milestone for me because I usually can’t remember their names long enough to write my review. I’ve even found myself talking about this book to my teaching assistants and relating the events to some that have been in the news lately.

My life has always centered around people with disabilities so the fear and angst Grace, Sam, Carter, Mimi and evening Kim were going through were so real to me!

Thank you Jamie Beck - you’ve “moved” me!

Thank you Netgalley and Montlake Publishing for an advanced copy of this book. The following comments and review are my honest opinion.
This book lays out how one night can change two families and bring the parents to their knees. It tears at the heart of every parent and breaks down friendships almost to the point of never offering or accepting forgiveness. I felt deeply for the mothers, Grace and Mimi and their sons, Carter and Rowan in this tragic story. It evoked for me a feeling of how thankful I was that my children were raised. But then I thought of my own grandson, my nieces and nephews and perhaps how peer pressure and need for acceptance could be affecting their lives. Worry never stops. This is an excellent, heartfelt written book by Jamie Beck that is relevant to anyone who knows a child.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. Basically the story is about two best friends raising their teenage sons. Mimi is very lax with the rules and allows her 15 year old and his friends drink alcohol in her house because she feels they are going to do it anyway so might as well let them drink at her house. Grace and her husband are more strict with Carter. When Carter attends a party at Mimi's house with her son, Rowan, tragedy hits. The characters in this book were so annoying that I could not wait for it to end. Grace was so concerned about blaming everyone else that she only spent an hour a day at the rehab with her son. Her daughter, Kim, felt so neglected. I actually thought of her as like 5 years old instead of 10. Grace had a sister who died from either alcohol or drug usage which is mentioned several times in the book but not the details of what actually happened. All Mimi cared about was what everyone thought about what she was doing. Both of the characters were so annoying to me.
