Will and Laura have grown up together, but their childhood was certainly far from perfect. Laura was put into Foster care, but she found herself placed with a family who certainly didn't seem to want to care for a child, but the only good thing that came out of that awful placement was Will who lived next door, who quickly took it upon himself to keep her safe, so when she leaves without so much as a goodbye, Will can't forgive her.
As adults, Will has made a real success of himself and owns a chain of hotels, and Laura is the biggest lover of Christmas ever. They end up crossing paths when Laura is employed to decorate the hotels for Christmas. But can Will ever truly forgive her?
This book was so beautiful and fun to read, with a cast of interesting characters and a storyline that has you engrossed, it is impossible to not lose yourself in this story.
Sinfully Yours has the typical brooding alpha male but within the context of this story it works as the foster home background adds a really intriguing dynamic to the two main protagonists interactions, Interactions that are full of heat and passion that have you turning the pages wanting more.
Laura and Will grew up together but their childhood was far from Rosy. Laura was in foster care and was placed with a family who only wanted the money not the child, but lucky for her Will was her next door neighbour and protected her, but then one day she went away without so much as a goodbye and Will never forgave her.
Now grown up Laura is the Queen of christmas and Will owns a string of hotels, when he asks Laura to decorate them for the festive season their paths cross again but can he now forgive her and accept his past to get the future they want together.
There's a Christmas feel from the first pages of this romance. Laura is a festive event planner and especially loves Christmas. The meeting with Will her client is unexpected, especially when she recognises him. Will has never forgotten Laura, and how she left him without a word. Trust is a conflict in their passionate romance, as is Laura's lifelong guilt. Both characters have damaged childhoods but have achieved material success in life, emotionally, they are bereft.
Their festive romance is idyllic, with snow, confectionery and passion, but when the snow melts and the real world intrudes, their conflicted past and trust issues make Will withdraw from the happy-ever-after Laura wants.
This is story has emotional angst, likeable characters and passionate romance, the perfect recipe for a festive romance read.
I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Another new-to-me author delivers a steamy and sexy read. I really enjoyed this book, and I look forward to reading more from Margot in the future.
Laura and Will used to know each other as children. They both experienced a hard childhood in foster care and clung to each other to find a way through it all. All Will wanted to do was to look after Laura and keep her safe and he would do anything for her, but one day she up and disappeared. She left no note, no letter and he never heard from her again, until one day she turns up in his hotel lobby as the Christmas decorator.
Laura desperately wants Will to forgive her for leaving all those years ago, but it is clear that in the years since she has seen him he has emotional walls to keep everyone, including Laura out. When she finds herself stranded due to a snowstorm Will lets her stay at his penthouse, and she is determined to earn his forgiveness.
What neither of them had anticipated was the attraction that was growing between them when they were kids was now full blown passion. Laura has made peace with her troubled past and is ready and willing to open herself up, but the more she pushes Will the more he shuts her out.
I liked the basis of the story and felt that the vulnerability of the two characters was well handled, however I don’t get why the book is called Sinfully Yours, and I did feel that there was a lot of detail about their relationship as children and not as much about Will manging to break through the walls he had built.
I felt that Laura’s expectations on Will were unrealistic with what he had been through and that she was at times insensitive to his feelings. I also found the resolution to the story a bit rushed and think it could have been developed a bit more, for one thing the letter that Laura wrote to Will I think would have really added to show how he finally managed to resolve his past and move forward.
I absolutely LOVED this book!!
This was one of those books that had me 'hooked' from the first page and I knew I would not be able to put it down until I had read the whole thing!
This was a book that was full of feelings, truths, lust and romance - and i thought it was wonderful!
It has everything you would expect from a Mills & Boon book
It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended!!
Sexy, festive and enjoyable
4 stars
I was a huge fan of the Mills & Boon / Harlequin Blaze line and I’ve never felt the subsequent Dare line has ever lived up to Blaze’s standards. This book, however, is the first Dare book I’ve read that reminded me of the Blaze line with its strong heroine, deliciously broody male, and an interesting story that was both romantic and sexy.
Will and Laura bump into each other 15 years after their traumatic time as neglected foster kids. Back then, the pair were inseparable - protectors, best friends and each other’s safe space. Until Laura is fostered out and away from Will. Their past - and Laura’s leaving - has caused massive emotional issues in both our characters in the story.
Laura was a great character. For the most part, she’d put her difficult past behind her and had become a successful, strong and happy person. She was fairly chill, except when it came to her guilt regarding Will. Her inner thoughts show us how conflicted she is - and she knows herself well enough to know that she won’t ever be able to keep Will at arm’s length. Yet she also respects herself enough to know that she can’t accept half measures - she wants all of Will or none at all. I admired and liked her.
While Will was probably a typical grumpy, alpha billionaire - he, more than most, had reason to be a little bit wary and standoffish. He had issues regarding his past and yet he was still playful, kind and a good guy. He was my favourite kind of hero - the kind that just needs a big ol’ hug from a good woman.
I loved the connection between Will and Laura. From their first (re)meeting, they fall back into an easy friendship - this time with more adult vibes. And those adult vibes led to some very adult situations which were deliciously hot - exactly what I’m looking for from this kind of book.
We get to a very satisfying conclusion and HEA with this story…but I’m going to admit that when I turned the last page, I screamed in frustration. If there was ever a story that was crying out for an epilogue, it was this one. I can even picture it - Will and Laura celebrating Christmas perhaps 5 years later. Kiddos, dogs, fireplaces, love - I wanted it all. I’m still bitter. Give me epilogues, dammit!
And speaking of Christmas - this book had a nice festive vibe to it. New York in the snow. Family. Presents. Cookies. Christmas movies. Fireplaces. Flannel jammies with reindeer motifs. It was happiness.
Overall, this book was a fun read and while the characters were overcoming difficult childhoods, it never got too angsty or overly emotional. The writing was fresh and readable - drawing you into the story and making you want to keep reading. Sexy with emotions - I really enjoyed this book and Will and Laura’s story. Margot Radcliffe’s writing style reminded me of the Blaze of old and I will be looking out for more from her in the future. A very high 4-star read and recommended.
The story follows Laura and Will who come back together after 15 years apart. They were best friends as foster children and Laura left Will behind to join a new family.
This is the first M&B I’ve read in a good while and I did enjoy it as a quick, light and festive read. However, I would have liked more character development and I found the timeline a bit jumpy. The disagreement which splits them up in present day could have been easily resolved and I found myself frustrated, I also wish in the flashbacks there had been more detail.
This sounds like I didn’t enjoy it at all, which isn’t true- but it was only an okay read.
Many thanks to M&B and Netgalley for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
i read this ARC for an honest review

4.5 “Queen of Christmas” Stars
Margot Radcliffe brings her readers a festive reconnection for a couple with a deeper history than many, and whilst circumstances may have separated them as teenagers, the ghost of Christmas present is about to play its hand.
“This was on the books as the dirtiest Christmas she’d ever had.”
Will and Laura were fantastic together and with history comes a level of ease and rediscovery. On the surface, both seem to have life in check and rather than let their pasts hold them back, it’s driven them to be confident and successful in their careers. Inwardly however is a different story and as they grow closer, old hurts and regrets begin to bubble to the surface.
“She’d been the only girl who had genuinely ever broken his heart. When he’d still had one to break, that is.”
Sinfully Yours is exactly what I want to find when I pick up a book from the Dare imprint—an engaging story between a strong yet flawed couple who are pretty much on a level playing field, who indulge in plenty of horizontal (and vertical) refreshment and a bring a smattering of angst to what is a overall easygoing read. My only grumble is the lack of epilogue, but that aside this was bang on and why I’ll definitely be reading more from Margot Radcliffe.
They were foster kids together, with secret, unspoken deep love for each other. When they meet years later those feelings of love and deep attraction burn even stronger, but now from a mature adult perspective.
They embark on an affair, but their past needs to be reconciled with, so that the future can be welcomed with strong, solid and understood feelings. Not with the emotional consequences that come from living in foster care and all the unsure feelings that comes with those circumstances.
With a happy ever after ending, in this romantic story of love, commitment and happiness.
Just a note!
Good story, but some of the proof reading has not picked up on missing words or wrongly phrased sentences in a few places.
I loved this. I couldn't put it down and I read it on sitting. Will definitely be reading it again more than once. Well done.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review.
This was an enjoyable read: the story of two close friends who came back together after a 15-year gap. We get both Will's and Laura's POV so can see where the misunderstandings are and what they are both wanting.
The sex scenes were well drawn although I felt sometimes that Will's control freakery almost bordered on being abusive but thankfully stopped before it went too far.
