Enticing and innocently sweet, a LGBTQIA+ shoujo manga that will pull on your heart strings and make you reminisce on those adolescent crushes.

Eku Takeshima did a wonderful job at weaving the experience of feeling that first love crush in school. The setting of this book is much like any other shoujo manga I've read. It's the start of the school, our main character, Himari, fell in love at first sight with the lead singer from the light music club. A senpai named Yori.
Himari is clueless, pretty dense, and very straightforward when it comes to love. She confesses her love with ease and confidence. While Yori is the mysterious girl that loves to sing and enjoys her solitude on the roof of the school. She sings for herself because she has horrible stage fright.
It is a light read and you can easily finish the manga in an hour. The art style is cute and bubbly that can easily appeal to readers after a couple of pages. There were many sweet moments that made me go "aww" , it is sweet but not the sickly sweet for my preference. As in the plot there were also comedic moments to entertain readers. I enjoyed my time reading this book and look forward to more moments between Yori & Himari as they try to bring their relationships to another level.

If you're looking for a palate cleanser from any book you're reading and you're in the mood to read a shoujo manga about two girls awkwardly trying to impress each other. This manga is for you!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for this review copy. This manga ooooooh!!! 🥰😍 I'll be honest this was my very first Yuri/Girl's love manga and I am so glad it was.

First off, the artstyle is gorgeous especially the leading ladies. Second off, I would say that this is a combination of feels between Given and K-On so if you liked those, I would definitely recommend this.

Lastly, this relationship also is very soft and interesting although I am sure there are moments of deception, (which is something that I am not a fan of) I am interested to see how volume two resolves that. Overall though, I am truly excited about this series and expanding my horizons in Yuri/Girl's Love. 4.5 out of 5 stars

"We both say we're in love. But I don't think we mean the same thing."

A super cute story of two girls falling for each other....kind of. When first-year (sophomore) student Himari hears Yori sing, she immediately tells the older girl that she's fallen in love at first sight. Which makes Yori pause and notice how cute Himari is...but as they get together, it seems that Himari has fallen in love her her music, as a fan, and not with Yori herself. How will Yori deal with her own crush now??

Both girls have a great supporting cast of friends, and I liked seeing them actually getting to know each other past the initial "love at first sight" encounters. I worry about Yori's heart breaking from Himari's naivete!!

Great for shojo manga readers who love adorable, squee-worthy first love.

4 Stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for providing me a digital copy to review.

Himari sees Yori playing in a band and it’s love at first sight! ....sorta. Misunderstandings abound (but not the kind of over dramatic ones that cause so much melodrama and drive me nuts). And Yori might just feel something in return for her kōhai.

Okay this was a super cute starting volume of a wlw manga. Both characters are loveable and you’ll want to push them together so better. The art style is adorable as well. This is the start of a story that definitely left me wanting to read the next volume!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the e-arc

This was a cute read! Characters and art are great. The sapphic romance isn't bad either. What's preventing me from rating it more is the author sort of suffering with sam face syndrome and the fact that i wasn't fully invested in the mang

ACK! This was so cute I can't stand it! The art was gorgeous and the characters were adorable! The tone is so light and sweet dfjhafsdkjhasdfkjh! It reminds me of a more romance focused K-ON since it revolves around music and performing. The slice of life aspects of the story is really fun and really relaxing. Although the cliff hanger at the end of the volume made me want to throw my lap top OTL How can it end like that? I'm so upset! I can't believe I need to wait for it.
The miscommunication and unrequited love aspects of the story were a bit frustrating but the characters were cute and dumb enough that it was endearing instead of annoying. Overall Whisper Me a Love Song is heartwarming and adorable! It was an absolute delight to read and I recommend it wholeheartedly!

I found it rather dull - I’m sorry! It lacks enough charm to seduce me. Which is unfortunate as I love reading manga

This was okay. I am all about the plot of this one, and it was fine. The execution just wasn’t as...something as I thought it would be, and I didn’t like the protagonist as much which lead to me being less interested.

I was worried at first that this manga would go to the cheesy side, but, while it is adorable, it is also really funny, and had me laughing out loud on a number of occasions.

A cutesy lgbtq manga that gives butterflies in the most ridiculous ways. The cat references were the best & there’s little bits in here that make you wanna know the characters a bit deeper.

I got an ARC of this book.

This book is so cute. From the meet-cute to the last page, I was giggling and amused.

The characters were very much first vol manga flat. They were young, excitable cute girl and older, cool girl. They started to get fleshed out more as the volume went on, but like a lot of manga, the story is meant to be told over many volumes so the full character is not shown yet. It didn’t hinder my ability to want the two together and it didn’t hinder me loving the manga. I am hoping that the depth will grow.

A lot of the f/f manga that I have read that have an age gap tend to be dubious on consent and have a more forceful character. This is far from that. The characters are both really adorable and nervous. They both get excited. It read as a more equal dating situation and I enjoyed that a lot. It felt cute. There were no fan service shots or anything else that would oversexualize the teens. It allowed the romance to grow more slowly while they got to know each other.

This is the sort of love at first sight that I love. They had a reaction to each other, but they are taking the time to get to know each other before they settle down forever. They go on cute dates. They talk. It was wonderful to see just how cute they were and how they both worried about what the other meant when they said they loved each other at first sight (especially after one of them made a further move and I was like DAMNIT JUST SAY YES, there was a bit of “oops, what if we mean different things, can’t get too excited now”). It felt real and sweet.

Overall, this was a very sweet and wholesome love at first sight story. I liked it.

Such a sweet first volume. Both main characters are unique and enjoyable. Super interested to see where the series will go from here.

It's my first time getting an ARC of manga, even though I've read so many mangas before. Seeing cute lesbians on the cover absolutely had me.

First thing I noticed when I opened Whisper Me a Love Song was the lovely, detailed and so, so sparkly graphics. The characters are adorable and the shojo style is immaculate. This is absolutely a feast for the eyes.

Plot-wise, I gotta be honest - if you've read one shojo high school romance manga, you've read them all. If you liked it, you've read at least 20 and absolutely don't mind reading 21st so what should I even explain? Whisper Me a Love Song is exactly the type of cute teenage first love hijinks that you expect and love to see in a manga of this type. It's nothing exceptional but it's adorable and heart-warming, like good comfort food.

While Kino was pretty much that energetic, clueless lesbian (or pseudo lesbian, looking at all those idols anime) protagonist, I've found myself liking Yori much more than a typical love interest. She still fits the dark-haired cool stereotype but she isn't the one to deny her feelings and ends up being the one pursuing the romantic relationship. Plus, under that cool sempai vibe, she was also absolutely soft and adorable. And she loves cats.

What I liked a lot was seeing the girls bond over their mutual interests and build an actual friendship that isn't only based on attraction. I feel like in a lot of romance, not just manga and graphic novels, the characters have nothing in common besides their attraction and I really don't like that.

All in all, I will absolutely keep an eye on the series and recommend it to my friends, as the ending teased that we will see more from side characters and they do seem interesting.

Super cute! I liked getting to look at the initial events from both perspectives, and I'm excited to see where it goes from here.

I really enjoyed the premise of this yuri manga. The love interests have a major misunderstanding that was really adorable, though it left both girls wondering, does she or does she not?

I like that the plot revolves around music. I found it appealing that one of the main characters is a singer, and I love her personality. She's talented and adored by her fans, but she's shy. Her crush is a fairly generic cute-girl type, but I enjoyed the story anyway and am eager to read about how their feelings grow.

The art in this manga is beautiful. I can't wait for more!

If you still haven’t read a Yuri—the Japanese term used in manga and anime to describe romantic relationships between women—this would really make for a nice start.

Imagine someone professing their love for you, and you suddenly realise that you feel the same way. But what happens if you find that maybe you are giving the word ‘love’ two different meanings? That’s how Himari and Yori start their heart-warming journey, one that drags readers in from page one. Whisper Me a Love Song immediately catches your eye with a truly gorgeous artwork, and then it completely absorbs your attention with a story that isn’t just sweet, but also amusing. The misunderstandings provoke lots of laughs throughout the read, and it’s hard not to giggle even after the last chapter. Indeed, the bonus scenes at the end are full of hilarious moments filled with extra cuteness. Oh, the cuteness!

Adorable and funny, the perfect combo that never fails to reach our hearts . . . Have you ever fallen in love at first sight? You might when you put your hands on this manga!

This was the fluffiest fluff. So darn adorable. I've been getting a bit more into Manga of late, thanks to my kiddo and this little gem happens to be my first Yuri read. And I loved it. Himari is a total fangirl for Yori who sings in a high school band, meanwhile, Yori is completely smitten by Himari. it's a love at first sight girl-love-girl cotton candy treat you can devour in 30 minutes or less.

Yori (a third year) sings with a band on the first day of school. Himari (a first year) hears her sing and "falls in love at first sight", except not in the way Yori thinks she means. When Himari manages to speak to Yori at the end of the day, she can't wait to tell her how she feels, but this just leaves Yori confused. Yori begins to develop real feelings for Himari, while Himari is just in love with Yori's singing and overall coolness. Himari doesn't realize how Yori feels about her. What will happen after Yori admits her true feelings for Himari?

This was a super cute manga about two girls mistaking what love at first sight means to them. The artwork was really wonderful, I especially loved the few color pages. I really appreciated the notes in the back that explain certain aspects of Japanese culture (ie the use of senpai, how the school year runs, etc).
