Ilsa did it again with another fantastic book!!! This book is everything!! I couldn't stop reading it. Devon and Giselle have the greatest chemisty that you could want in a book!! I love the way they had the push and pull to eachother. I loved how he was so protective of her and she was so sweet and pure. This book was so amazing and I love everything about it!!
You will not be able to put this book down.
One of the best things about this book too is the fact that you fall in love with the secondary characters as much as you do the main ones!!
I highly recommend this book!!!
Wow... Just WOW!!!
I think every review for a book I've read so far by Ilsa Madden-Mills has stared the same and that's me being speech less. I can not wrap my head around the fact that with every book she writes, I fall head over heels in love with her leading men and women.
Devon ... I don't have words to describe how much I loved him. His childhood has left him with some scars and I wanted to wrap myself around him and never let go. Giselle was a bit quirky and he needed her in his life. I loved the friendship that they had and the chemistry and the slow burn was driving me up the wall. But when the spark finally ignited the flame? Pure bliss ❤️
I see a pattern that is starting to take pace with Ilsa's books and that's that this is (I say this almost every time) my favorite book so far!!!

Isla Madden Mills has nailed it with this book. This Sports Romance is one you won't be able to put down.
I Devoured it in one sitting. I Highly Recommend it to all Readers. A Must read for all Readers.
Ilsa and one of my favourites when it comes to sports romance and this one is another reason why I enjoy her books .
This slow burn friends to lovers sports romance was a little bit sad, super sexy and a whole lot of fun. Devon and Giselle stole my heart. I loved it so much!
Funny, sweet with all the feels…
And I mean ALL the feels! This is the second in the Game Changers series and I loved this one even more. Game changer is right as both Giselle and Devon were at crossroads in their lives. Luckily, they converged at the right time…
The vibes between Giselle and Devon were spectacular as they moved out of the friend-zone to more. In Devon’s case it was kicking and screaming (silently, of course) but you could hear it for sure… His demons plagued him and coloured any future he might hope to have with her.
My thoughts on Giselle really took a 180 degree turn – well, maybe 145. I felt there was much more to her story after book one and, happily, there was much more. She was not a home-wrecker but had her own issues to sort out. Overcoming birthday curses was only of many things they had to deal with – and all of it with a whole lot of meaningful (and spicy) conversations. With Aiden, Giselle’s and Devon’s family it was a wild, awesome mess of read that I couldn’t put down. The feelings, the connection, between Devon and Giselle were magical and their strong ties weathered all the family, friend and career complications plus their own doubts as well. Yes, a lot packed into these pages! And altogether, it made for one of my top reads of the year.
*I joyfully reviewed this story
**Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley
Physic Ph. D candidate Giselle was on a date from an app. He is not what she was looking for and she needed a way out when her new brother-in-law's best friend comes to rescues her from her horrible date, she was thankful but something seems off.
Greek god like NFL wide receiver Devon was her partner for her sister's wedding and they had pretty good time until his date showed up. She was attracted to him but his cold/hot temper towards her didn't make it better. She finds Jack (new brother-in-law) told rest of his teammates she off limits and told hime she was a virgin. She was fuming when she left his club and when she saw her down stair neighbor Myrtle she shared her horrible date story and little bit of her run in with Devon. Myrtle wanted to hear more about her alien romance novel and she pours her story to her.
Giselle is not only a physicist, she enjoys writing paranormal romance novel. Writing has been her stress relief and while she was writing a story, her apartments basement catches fire. She is quick to get everyone out however, she goes back to her room to get her pearl. When she gets out of apartment, Devon rushes in and kisses her. She is confused why he kissed her..
Devon knew Giselle is off limits but he can't help offering his penthouse. He decides to become her wingman except he can't stand her dating other people and his teammate Aidan wants to date her. He is trying to keep her at arms length and keep all the guys off her but she is easy to talk to and she is different from all the other girls and he can't keep her off his mind..
Giselle and Devon are keeping as friends/roommates but chemistry is off the chart and things gets more complicated.
This has so many trope within this one. (Roommate, friends to lovers, virgin, angst, etc) I love Myrtle, her mama and her aunt. They are a hoot. When her mama says prayers it's is one of the laugh out loud moments for me. This is great read. Thanks to netgalley and Montlake for ARC.
This is such a beautiful, sweet, friends to lover, heartwarming story. Devon and Giselle are the perfect couple and the chemistry, banter and respect between them was amazing.
This book is EVERYTHING!!!! I seriously cannot describe how much I loved this book. It had ALL the feels, it had me swooning and wanting more like never before.
Giselle was everything I love in a heroine, she is so strong and so sweet. I loved that she didn't let anyone change who she was, she had that fire in her that made her so amazing. Devon is that bad boy who has the biggest heart, I loved that he knew right away that he loved Giselle. I loved the banter, these two not only had me swooning, they also had me laughing so much. These two are so different from each other, but they are also what each other needs. When Devon offers to help Giselle, the last thing he expected was for her to change his world.
This book was so much more than I expected, I twas everything I needed. I didn't want it to end, I wish I could give this more than 5 stars!!!
After reading not my Romeo, I fell in love with Devon... he was funny and charismatic, and I knew I had to read his book!
Ilsa madden mills never disappoints! I really enjoyed this book! There was so much chemistry between Devon and Giselle! The will they won’t they the whole time kept me on the edge of my seat!
I loved how we see Devon in a different light. He’s still funny, but oh so caring and possessive. He has his own struggles through out the book that make you feel for him....He’s a true book boyfriend.
Giselle I was probably like everyone else who read not my Romeo and probably disliked her at first. This book really does make me see her in a different light. She was quirky, smart and loving. Plus She writes alien romance novels, haha I did come around to her and ended up liking her! You will seriously root for her and Devon the whole time!
This book is a friends to lovers, insta lust with a little bit of slow burn. Giselle’s apartment catches fire and she has no where to stay, so Devon has her stay at his place, and I bet you know what ends up happening. As I said I truly loved Devon and Giselle together... and Devons way of being sensitive and caring around her had me swooning so hard! Ilsa madden mills write the most passionate character, and let’s me feel every emotion the character feel for each other! I cannot wait to read more from her in the future!
I loved every moment of this book, from the first moment with Rodeo to the end, and each moment of crazy in the middle. I loved Giselle and Devon, but the supporting cast of quirky characters, are my favorite. I am hoping that Aiden gets his own book, he is the best wingman.
I love all of Ilsa Madden Mills’s books since the first. She never disappoints me with anything that she writes. She always brings the best combination of quirky and steam. I never wanted this book to end, but alas the end came on swift wings.
I am not a huge fan of new adult romance, but this author always hits her mark. Between new adult angst, drama, and witty banter, her stories are the best entertainment. Highly recommend.
Absolutely adored Devon and Giselle. This was a different kind of friends to lovers book full of innocence, angst, protectiveness, adoration and love.
Giselle is quirky and considers herself to be kind of a nerd. Devon is a rich, successful and hot as hell football player. Together they are everything! The inner conversations with themselves were super cute. Giselle thinking why would he pay attention to her and Devon trying to talk himself out of his feelings.
Let’s not forget Devon’s football buddies and Giselle’s family that definitely add to the story. This is book two in this series but can be read by itself. I was waiting for more of Devon since we met him in Not My Romeo and Isla definitely delivered.
Not My Match is the perfect slow burn, friends to lovers romance that captivates the reader from the very first page. This beautifully written story is heart warming, intense, hilarious, emotional and full of steamy angst. I loved every word and was sad when I got to the last page. Devon and Giselle were perfect for each other. I was entranced by their navigation and evolution into an epic love. This book solidifies why Ilsa Madden-Mills is an automatic, one click for me as she consistently delivers awesome five star reads.
Oh my. Giselle and Devon captured my heart! Giselle is trying to figure out her life and now find a home, but Devon steps up and lets her stay with him until she figures things out. From the moment these two are in a room, the looks they give each other, the thoughts they have about the other, you just want to shake them and say come on!!! Devon and Giselle will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, that will have you on the edge of the sit. Both have pasts and future goals they are aiming for, but what if those change? Read Not My Match to see what happens between Devon and Giselle!
I absolutely adored this story! Emotional with moments of humour weaved throughout, I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended!
Let me start out by saying that I have a girl crush on Giselle. She is, without a doubt, the best heroine I’ve ever read about. I want to be her best friend. She’s so unbelievably smart, sweet as pie, so understanding when it comes to Devons faults. She loves unconditionally with absolutely no remorse. GAH! I just love her so much.
Devon is her perfect match in every way possible. He’s fighting some demons from his past, but truly shines when Giselle is around. They bring out the sunshine in each other and I loved reading about it. Their buildup may have been longer but so worth the wait.
Ilsa. My giiiiiiirl. You KILLED it with this one. I’m left reeling, wanting more of these two. I CAN’T WAIT FOR AIDANS BOOK!!!!
Dans la lignée du 1er tome, j'ai adoré Giselle et Devon. Beaucoup d'humour, une vraie complicité, cette romance est vraiment sympa, je vous la recommande !
Not My Match is about Giselle and Devon. She’s a super smart PHD student in physics and he’s a famous wide receiver. Devon is on the same team as her new brother in law, and he’s been warned by Jack that Giselle is off limits. Giselle is trying to get over the break up with her ex, Preston, but finding a descent date isn’t that easy. Giselle runs into Devon at his club while on a disastrous first date. From here, their adventure kept me riveted. I loved this book!! I can’t wait for Aiden to get his book!
I didn’t want to like Giselle, I really didn’t, after all she wasn’t very nice in the first book ! But holy hell, damn the author cos I loved her !
Her sassy, fiery, sarcastic, yet shy and reserved personality was brilliant add to that the quirky nerdiness that surrounded her and you had a fab heroine that really gave Devon a run for his money !
Devon, Jack’s best friend ! Giselle his sister in law ! Yep you no the score, no touching ! But there’s just something about that chemistry ! Then there’s the fact that he just can’t stand to see her with anyone else ! Even though he’s the one that sets her up !
A great read, great chemistry and great wingmen !

"Not My Match" was a delightful slow burn, friends-to-lovers romance between physics grad student Giselle Riley and NFL wide receiver Devon Walsh. Despite being surrounded by people, Giselle and Devon both seemed lonely when the story began, and I think that was a big part of why they were so drawn to each other. Giselle was in a particularly tough spot, wracked with guilt over betraying her sister Elena (the female lead of book #1) with her ex, Preston, and essentially homeless after a fire drove her out of her apartment. All she wanted was to get her life back on track, but it seemed like she couldn't catch a break.
There was an obvious spark between Devon and Giselle from the start, but Devon kept pushing Giselle away and trying to keep her in the friend zone. Not only was he struggling with past abandonment issues, his best friend Jack (the male lead of book #1) had made Giselle off-limits in an effort to protect her from the guys on his team. Giselle had a lot of bad experiences with men, so I understood where Jack was coming from, but Devon was a good guy and didn't seem to be nearly as much of a player as his reputation suggested. He took care of his family and went out of his way to look after Giselle while Jack and Elena were away on their honeymoon, even though that made it more difficult for him to fight his feelings for her.
Giselle was kind of the "bad guy" in the previous book of the series, but surprisingly, I really liked her after I got to know her better. Given more context and an understanding of her side of the story, Giselle seemed to have been a victim of Preston's manipulations just as much as her sister Elena was. That's not to say that everything Giselle did was right, but she was truly remorseful and genuine in her desire to repair her relationship with Elena.
There were a number of emotional moments in this story, but plenty of funny scenes as well. Much of the humor was thanks to the book's charming secondary characters, including Giselle's pot-smoking landlady Myrtle, the students from her Intro to Physics class, Corey and Addison, and Elena's best friend Topher (who also appeared in book #1). My favorite, however, was Elena and Giselle's mama Cynthia, whose passive aggressive prayers at Sunday lunch made me laugh out loud. Finally, I enjoyed Devon and Jack's teammate Aiden and hope that he will get a story of his own in the future.
Overall, I loved this heartwarming, funny, sweet yet steamy story and highly recommend it for all contemporary romance readers. I look forward to whatever Madden-Mills writes next.
