Juliet is a dog-groomer doing a favor for her best friend. The favor is being a 'seat filler' at a Hollywood awards event. Apparently when televised awards show occur, it's bad to have empty seats. So they pay people to sit in the seats when the stars are not there. Juliet ends up sitting next to an actor (Noah Douglas) that she has had a movie star crush on forever. Except she tells him that she has no idea who he is and he believes her (she had her reasons). And they hit it off. And then his date comes back, so she leaves the seat she was filling.

Except Noah remembers her, tracks her down, and she finds herself filling a seat next to him at a noter awards how. And then she's grooming his dog, and then they're talking about her fear of kissing and he's offering to help....

This was a really cute romance. Juliet is endearingly awkward and, since the book is told from her perspective, we always know what she is thinking. We are also wondering along with her what Noah is thinking, because she has no idea why he's helping her. What she does know is that she's really enjoying his company and is wondering if it could ever go anywhere....

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Seat Filler is stereotypical Sariah Wilson, meaning the rom and the com are well balanced and the pages practically flip themselves.
A humongous teen crush and a bad case of philemaphobia are the driving forces behind Juliet's adoration and subsequent take-down-the-cocky-actor attitude. Juliet takes on a side job as a seat filler at an awards show. She's meant to be seen and not heard as she stands in for attendees that have left their seats. She sits next to none other than Noah freaking Douglas, one of the hottest actors in LA. She might be hangry and in need of a snickers (let's be fair, I always do myself), but Noah definitely needs a little set down.
Juliet's interactions with Noah and the supporting cast made me laugh out loud several times. I can always count on Sariah to deliver the funny. And I simply loved the Acknowledgements and ode to Ben Solo aka Adam Driver. It's so sweet that Sariah's interactions with him led to this fun novel.
Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

The Seat Filler is the latest swoony rom-com from bestselling author Sariah Wilson of Roommaid. In her feel-good, addictive new novel, Wilson shines the light on what it might be like to fall in love with a movie star.

The two instantly fall into a flirtation, but with Juliet’s intense phobia of kissing and a few communication issues, they quickly run into some conflicts. But you’ll root for these two to get through it.

Some readers may find the characters immature at times. Others might relate to them. Despite a few frustrating choices from the characters, I think most romance readers (who aren’t expecting explicit love scenes) will enjoy this one. Both teens and adults should appreciate this fun read because it’s a page-turner with familiar rom-com tropes done in the best way possible. Fanfiction fans will especially love this light and fluffy read.

Content Note: It’s a clean read with pretty intense kissing sequences!

Who wouldn't dream of being a seat filler at an awards show and meeting movie stars. Where do i sign up? A friendship develops between movie star, Noah and dog groomer, Juliet in this fun, touching and heartwarming read. I just fell in love with Noah and his dog, Magnus. There's so much chemistry between Noah and Juliet. Just perfect. I couldn't help but smile. I could really see this as a film, please film gods make my wish come true.

When Juliet's best friend ropes ropes her into being a seat filler at an awards show, she ends up sitting next to her childhood crush, Noah Douglas, an ultra famous actor. He comes off pretentious and cocky, so Juliet pretends she has no clue who he is when they meet. After her reaches out when he needs a favor and the two start spending time together, Noah wants more, but Juliet just doesn't date. She has a hidden secret that keeps men at an arm's length away. When Noah offers to help Juliet with her problem, the two realize it's going to be hard said than done being "just friends."

The Seat Filler had me hooked from the first page! I absolutely loved the premise of the book and loved that the author was inspired by her real-life interaction with Adam Driver. The characters have amazing chemistry that is driven by their quick witted, adorable banter. This book is hysterical andI found myself laughing out loud constantly.

Juliet is such a dynamic main character. She is outwardly strong and defiant, but deep down, she struggles with self confidence and doubts herself at every turn, feeling unworthy of love. I appreciated how she turned a hard time in her life into a seize the day moment and never looked back. She rolled with the punches and never, ever gave up without a fight.

Tall and strong, confident and trusting, Noah was the perfect hero for Juliet. He loved his dog, was gentle and caring with Juliet and had a quirky side all the way down to his adorable sock choices. SWOON. I appreciated how he stayed true to his word; what you see is what you get and there are no games played. He had so much restraint and tenderness when helping Juliet past her issues.

I also adored the relationship between Juliet and her best friend Shelby. They truly loved each other in every sense of the word, but were also not afraid to push each other outside of their comfort zones. I was just as invested in Shelby's story as I was with Juliet's.

The Seat Filler is an absolute must read. I loved it so much!

The Seat Filler by Sariah Wilson
.
This was a cute rom com that will be available on 4/27/21.
Juliet volunteers as a seat filler and winds up next to movie heartthrob, Noah Douglas. What’s a fangirl to do but pretend like she doesn’t know him?
.
What I liked:
-There were so many funny lines in this book! I highlighted a bunch in my copy. Juliet’s sense of humor was great.
-I loved her friendship with Shelby. They were there for each other through thick and thin.
-I loved all the dogs. ❤️❤️❤️ Magnus, Blueberry, Sunshine. They were all awesome.
- I also loved that Juliet was a self employed lady with her dog grooming van. She determined that her accounting degree was not going to make her happy and dogs would! Good for her!!!
.
What I didn’t like:
-Some of the obstacles in this book were hard for me to feel were realistic.
.
This book was very entertaining and it was a solid 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the chance to read an early copy of this book!

This book was a completely delightful, fluffy, escapist read and it is so zippy and charming. The dialogue and characters sparkle and it was like watching the perfect rom-com, just in my head instead of on the screen. Do you know pretty much exactly how the entire book will play out from the end of chapter one? Yes. Is the book absolutely worth reading for the journey along the way? Also yes, that's how rom-coms work. Is the ending a perfect, heart-melting Hollywood ending? Yes!

Seriously, read this book, picture your favorite actor you'd love to banter with and your best friend helping matchmake, and enjoy. It will make you so happy.

The Seat Filler by Sariah Wilson is an adult romance set in the beautiful and lively city of Los Angeles (LA), we see our main characters Juliet Nolan, a dog groomer who runs her own company. She stays with her best friend Shelby. She has been kissed ever and not much into dating since a couple of years.

Noah Douglas, an well renowned actor, who stays at the Hollywood's porch area in LA. They both meet at an award show, hosted by Shelby's mother I guess, she is a seat filler and sits next to her childhood crush Noah Douglas, who is well known for his superhero trilogy based show. She pretends she does not know him and hence starts a slow burn romance.

I really really liked the author's narrative style and the book is definitely promising. Hooked from pretty much the first pages, I liked it alot. The concept of dog groomed and Noah's dog - Magnus was practically an add-on for the perfect plot. If you are a romance lover like me you would definitely enjoy this book keeping in mind the perfect plot and good writing style of the author.

This was one of my favorite meet cutes (a seat filler at an awards show ends up next to an A List celeb) along with my top romance trope! The characters have fun banter and the author writes the best kissing scenes. The only thing I didn't love was the over the top, inevitable rom-com conflict at the end. However, the author redeemed it with a great happily ever after ending. I really enjoyed it! Grab this book when you are in the mood for something fun, light and sweet.

4.5 /5 stars

The Seat Filler is my first book by this author. I think that I would categorize the book as somewhere between a contemporary romance and a rom-com. The story is quite emotional.

The narrator is 24 year old Juliet (1st person POV). She has her own dog grooming business.

Juliet and Shelby are roommates who live for celebrity gossip.

Shelby is an interior designer who has an amazing boyfriend named Allan. Allan's mom Harmony owns SeatFiller Nation a company that provides volunteers to fill empty seats at big Hollywood events.

I loved this book. It made me laugh. It made me cry. Juliet was such an enjoyable heroine. She doesn't date. But she ends up at an award show.

Noah is a movie star. I really enjoyed everything about him. And I loved everything in the story to do with dogs.

There were some really fun and surprising developments in this book. But honestly I do not think that I would have enjoyed this book as much as I did if I had read the book blurb prior to reading the book (it gives away too much).

Overall, when rating a book I think about how much the book made me feel. And I'm honestly very surprised how emotional this book was. It made me feel so much. I would definitely recommend this book.

Talk about a meet cute! Juliet owns a business that caters to dogs- grooming, walking, and so on- and. as a favor to her friend's ,mother, she agrees to be a seat filler at an awards show. Noah is not only a big star, he's Juliets secret crush and...they're seated next to one another. Oh but the course of true love does not run smooth! Noah pursues Juliet but she holds back for perhaps the oddest reason I've read in a romance novel- she has a fear of kissing! You know this couple will overcome her fear and that there will be a happy ending but what I'd like to highlight is that they get there with good cheer and a nice touch of humor. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A fun book for a lazy day.

The Seat Filler was such a swoon worthy romance! It was sweet as a snickers and so endearing. I adored it.⁣

I just loved Noah and how patient and kind hearted he was. There was such fun banter that had me cracking up at times.⁣

I truly felt for Juliet with her anxiety and fear of kissing, but at times did feel she was a bit childish. I adored her best friend who always seemed to set her straight and tell it like it was, and I always love real person like that. ⁣

I also absolutely LOVED Magnus, and the fact that Juliet was a dog groomer and got to pet all the dogs all the time.⁣

Let’s also not forget Gladys, I love a grouchy old lady. ⁣

However, let’s get back to Noah and how he could very well be my new book boyfriend. He loves dogs. He’s tall, built and sexy. He cooks. He reads. He’s patient and open. All on top of being a movie star.⁣

I loved that these two became friends, and he worked with Juliet and her fears and always tried to make her happy. ⁣

This book was just absolutely precious. I loved Noah so much. He was just so kind and gentle with Juliet. Yes he got mad when he realized she knew he was all along but then the end just made me swoon so much. Oh, and of course I loved Mangus too!

Ok, the chemistry of these two characters leaps right off the page in this one and I am here for it! Probably the biggest flaw that a romance read can have is a relationship that feels forced. This is dangerous territory for any romance book. This one does not suffer from this malady at all. Nothing about this feels forced and everything about it feels swoony and romantic. I.loved.this.one!

The premise of this one is very cute and the meet-cute at the beginning immediately won me over. As the story progressed I was not at all disappointed. Probably my favorite thing about this read was how patient, respectful, and consent-seeking our man leading man is in this one. Juliet Nolan has a phobia of kissing and this could be treated as a joke, but is instead treated with respect and care and I really appreciated this. It was so well-done.

I stayed up way too late on a work night reading this one because I could not put it down and I was invested in the characters. I regret nothing! I loved this and it gave me a bit of a book hangover. This is always the BEST praise I can give a book.

I actually hate award shows, I never watch them because I think they’re super boring but this book was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it because I love a good celebrity/regular person love story.

The story is told from Juliet’s POV and I believe this would be considered a clean romance.

Likable characters is always important to me and I really enjoyed both Juliet and Noah. Juliet has a very take no shit attitude and I love that.

Noah was a tad bit dramatic there towards the end but he’s an actor so that makes sense.

The last chapter was so sweet that I got a cavity just from reading it and this truly was such a feel good read. I really loved it.

Be sure to grab a copy when it publishes on April 27th.

This was the dose of SWEETNESS that I needed in my life! It's cute, charming, and just a little bit sexy. I loved the slow build from strangers to friends to lovers, and somehow this author has again made a "clean" book simmer with sexual tension. This hero is almost too good to be true, and I loved his kindness, patience, and single-minded focus. Our heroine makes a somewhat unreliable narrator, but it's so easy to see our hero falling head over heels. From the meet cute to the HEA, these two are absolutely ADORABLE together. And any reservations I had about that blurb evaporated as the intimacy between them grew.

The story follows Juliet, a 24-year-old woman who has never really been kissed. After a traumatic "7 minutes in Heaven" during her teenage years and the disastrous events that followed, she associates kissing and relationships with anxiety and fear. So when she meets Noah, a Hollywood heartthrob and the former child actor who starred in her teenage dreams... she's not as starstruck as she probably should be. While filling in as a seat filler at an awards show, Noah and Juliet strike up a conversation that leaves the actor wanting more. And as they continue running into each other - and Juliet keeps rejecting Noah - they form a connection that starts to feel a lot like friendship with the hint of something more.

I'll openly admit that I was a little hesitant about this blurb, though still very much interested in the story. I typically love her writing, so I dove right in - and do not regret it! This was a low angst delight with the kind of slow burn romance I love; it's about friendship first, with subtle hints of more throughout. There's no real "steam," but it's a sexy book with a whole lot of kissing, and the chemistry was definitely there. And even though we never get Noah's perspective, I felt like I knew exactly what he was thinking along the way... even if Juliet didn't. Noah is what makes this book what it is; he's patient and loving throughout, entirely respectful of Juliet's anxiety, and consistently a genuinely good human being. I loved him so much. There were maybe one or two moments when this was a little too sugary sweet, but you know what? I'm not complaining. It was exactly what I was in the mood for, and just a charming, compelling read. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this Hollywood romance.

The Seat Filler was the first book I have read by Sariah Wilson and Oh my gosh I was not disappointed ( I have become a fan ) Wilson brought on the swoon factor in this story, I am still floating along after putting it down a few days ago.

Both of the main characters Juliet and Noah were wonderful and likable, and the chemistry between these two...Out of this world. But it wasn't just chemistry between them that hooked you in, it was their conversations, their banter, and their way with each other.

This is a book you will begin reading and you will continue reading until you get to the last page with no regard to the time, and you will laugh out loud while you are doing it.

The Seat Filler will be your new favorite book so don't miss it.

If you've ever fantasized about your celebrity crush falling in love with you, then you will absolutely adore THE SEAT FILLER. This "kissing lessons" romance between a famous actor (inspired by actor Adam Driver) and a part-time award show seat filler/full-time dog groomer is a perfectly sweet and sexy page-turner. I can't recommend it enough.

This book wrecked me. I did not want this book to end and I melted the whole time. I am devastated that I now have to move on to reading books that surely won't compare. This is exactly the kind of romance I want to read.

There were a few spelling errors and formatting issues with the texts between characters but other than that, it was perfect.
