Thank you to NetGalley for an electronic copy to read and review.
This is such a cute book that introduces some basic yoga poses and concepts. Crab's friends help him explore new poses to calm his mind and body. A great book for a child who wants to learn yoga.
This is a fab book for little ones.
We had so much for fun with a three and a five year old, it was colourful, it had a great layout which flowed throughout the book, it had great ideas to encorporate yoga into the book such as using animals and what to do with thoughts and feelings in relation to relaxing or calming down which I thought was such a great way in showing young children how to deal with their thoughts and emotions.
But not only that, we had such great fun doing them all, being like a gull and a sea otter, it was really inclusive and there is nothing I've seen so far that beats this. I am very into yoga and so encouraging young kids to be as well, its a great way to do some reading and exercise at the same time! Thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend this book to all, it would do especially well in a school or nursery. We will be recommending this to everyone we know, especially the nursery!
Thank you to netgalley and publishers for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review. We had so much fun!
I absolutely love this book, for its colourful and educational content and because the concept of yoga for a younger audience is so important and it has been introduced so well in this story about crab and the sea creatures he meets. The story is complemented by pictures and text describing how to do each yoga pose and at the end of the book are details of how each pose is beneficial. I would definitely buy this book and encourage others to do so to encourage children to feel grounded, benefit from breath work and stretch their bodies. A solid 5/5 stars from me, and my thanks to Netgalley, publisher and authors for a digital copy in exchange for my review.
I honestly loved this book. As a family we enjoy watching and following online yoga videos from different sources. This book reminds me of a Cosmic Kids routine but with more focus shown on the moves and their benefit for an individual, rather than the moves in how they relate to a story.
The step, by step instructions make it simple for a child to follow by themselves, or as a group, and being a book it means everything can be done at an individual pace when in videos we're challenged to meet the same pace as the creator.
All in all, I love the concept of the book, the benefits for mindfulness and the prospect of further books in the series is something we, as a family, would appreciate.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Ivy Kids for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely adored this book, the premise and story are so cute and I think it's so important to give children a way to release their emotions and provide these alternative ways for children to relax and be calm.
