In this third instalment of the Sweetpea series, Rhiannon has escaped the country and eventually gone into hiding.
I enjoyed this better than book 2 as I liked her internal battles of whether to kill or not.

This is the third book in the series. I did enjoy this book but Sweetpea is still my favourite in the series.

The book is written well and is fast paced and a page turner. The ending makes me think that there will be a fourth book in the series. I just wonder whether the series has run its course now.

I absolutely loved the third book in the Sweetpea series and Rhiannon Lewis is my favourite anti-heroine.

Dead Head took a slightly different turn to the previous books but it still had the trademark dark whit. I really enjoyed how the book still included Rhiannon’s diary entries and the documented events. The internal thoughts are always funny and I love the attitude.

I liked so many of the other characters too. Every serial killer needs allies and friends!

I can’t wait for the next book! Team Rhiannon - but not in a creepy way!

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Blimey! I have just finished reading Dead Head, the third in the Sweetpea series, by CJ Skuse. What an absolute rollercoaster I’ve just been on.

Do you ever get flashes of anger or frustration when someone says or does something? Then have an internal monologue, of what you would love to say? Rhiannon is that person. The one who doesn’t have those conversations in her head, she voices them loudly; and much, much more.

In the final book of the trilogy, Rhiannon has gone on the run, in the slowest possible manner. She is on a cruise. Surrounded by infuriating idiots.
Each chapter still starts with Rhiannon’s daily kill list. I have to say, I agree with many of her choices, though I’m still not sure what Rita Ora did to offend her.

Rhiannon is a very sweary murderer, without doubt, but she is many other things too. She is funny and fun, also lonely, desperately seeking loyalty and love.

Dead Head is deliciously dark, oozing with black irreverent humour. I felt the book was a fitting end to the Sweetpea story. 5⭐️

This book is the final novel in The Sweetpea trilogy. It follows the story of the self-confessed serial killer Rhiannon Lewis,
following her journey from childhood to adulthood and all the killings in between.

I love how brash she is, her ability to say what she thinks without consequences and that majority of her targets are bad people. To truly appreciate her journey you really need to follow through all three books.

A truly brilliant dark crime, comedy thriller series that is something quite different to anything else written that I’ve read so far.

Had I not already posted my top five reads of the year, Ivthink this would have made it. It’s definitly in my top 10 of 2022.

I didn't know what I was really getting into when I started this book, and I was quite surprised by it, however, I persevered, and by the end of the book I liked the main character of Rhiannon, who is literally a loveable psycho.

The whole book is crazy, nuts, quirky and unbelievable, but that is what makes it unique and special. Rhiannon is a serial killer, and throughout the book, we have her murders described to us in detail, but in a funny way. Throughout all the dark humour and craziness, Rhiannon is actually a loveable person with a heart of gold. She is ying and yang combined, and one minute I hated her and the next minute I loved her. Her adventures had me cringing and covering my eyes one minute and then the next minute I was laughing out loud. The whole book was like a big rumble in a tumble dryer, but it was very enjoyable.

This is book 3 in a series, and I will now look into reading the first 2 books.

𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝘾𝙅 𝙎𝙠𝙪𝙨𝙚

I’ve been desperate to get hold of this ever since I finished IN BLOOM and I think this was probably my most anticipated read for this year. If you’re gonna break your book ban this year, make it for this trilogy.

John Marrs said Rhiannon “makes Hannibal Lecter look like Mary Poppins” and to be honest I should just leave it there as I couldn’t put it any better myself. This is the third book in the trilogy and I just think these are SO unique and really stand out for their originality. We rejoin Rhiannon with her incredibly dark humour, witty sarcasm and hilarious “kill lists”, this time journeying over seas whilst on the run. Rhiannon is as blasé as ever about her actions and Skuse takes you on such a wild ride with a book I physically just could not put down.

I just LOVE these books. I can’t praise them enough and this definitely lived up to my expectations (though to be honest I had no doubts). If you have a questionable sense of humour, a love of gore and enjoy an outrageous unpredictable narrator, you will love Rhiannon (yes I know we shouldn’t, she’s a serial killer but she’s just funny okay). I love that we see a softer side to her in this book and even though she gets loved up, she still keeps her token sardonic attitude throughout. I’d definitely recommend reading the first two books first and then getting stuck into this. And.. Skuse has done it again with a KILLER cliff hanger so all I can say is I’m praying there’s a fourth (please?)

Grateful for receiving this for an honest review. I have read the entire Sweet pea series so was excited to read this one. Although I was disappointed, the writing style seems different to the earlier books and the character of Rhiannon not as funny amongst all the darkness. I still would recommend if you have read the others to find out the conclusion!

I absolutely adore this series, Rhiannon Lewis is such an incredible character, I love her!
The third installment did not disappoint, it's brutally brilliant and I can't wait for more!

This was a really interesting book that took Rhiannon's story to a completely different place that I didn't expect.

The settings that were introduced to this story really different to the past two and I found them very intriguing, I loved travelling with her and meeting these interesting people that she met along her travels.

I also really like to seeing more of her without the narrative of baby Ivy because it allowed for more story than inner monologue.

I thought this was going to wrap up as a trilogy but after that ending I desperately need a fourth book to see where the story will go

I decided to start this series as I have heard so many great things about the main character & everyone seems to love the series. Unfortunately I didn’t click with Rhiannon. I found the book easy to read with short chapters but I didn’t love it. I often find this with books others seem to rave about, maybe I go in with too higher expectations.
A good read just not for me.

Loved it. Proper loved it. Also slightly concerned that it makes me want to be a serial killer… and then be able to reinvent myself and move to Mexico.

Don’t stop reading this series at Book 2 because I really thought this one was much better. The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is because I enjoyed the first one, Sweet Pea, slightly more - mainly as that one was the main focus on getting to know Rhiannon. She’s such a one off character. I’m gutted that there’s gonna be a wait for book 4, which I need right NOW. It better land in my grubby mitts soon!

There’s such a fabulous level of humour involved in this series and anything by CJ Skuse and what I’m assuming is her slightly twisted mind, is going to be an auto buy for me. I’ve got The Alibi Girl to read (there’s a nod to that book in this one!) so I’ll have to bump that up the list.

I really love Rhiannon, she's my favourite serial killer and I was so delighted to read another instalment of her escapades, even if she does make me feel a bit strange about Sylvanian Families now.
There was plenty of dark humour and laugh out loud moments, and I really did feel sorry for her losing her mojo.
I really hope there's another book...

Oh how I just love these books! I have missed the brilliant Rhiannon so much. When I started reading this book I was worried as I had read the previous two so long ago but I soon got back into the hilarious storyline . These books are so good, it's so refreshing to have a book that's based on a serial killer but is also actually laugh out loud funny as well...don't think there's anything else out there that comes close really and the way the book ends just screams out that there's got to be more coming! If your thinking of reading this book you must start with the first book Sweet pea to get the glorious full effect!

I didn't realise until about halfway through that this was the third in the series but what an amazing roller coaster of a book this is. Instantly loved the main character and the dark humour in this series and I devoured the book really quickly. I have now purchased the first two books in the series to read more about Rhiannon and her earlier life!

Another fab rollercoaster outing for Rhiannon. Lots of humour, lots of twists, perhaps a little too much introspection for our favourite sociopath. It leaves the door open for more so I hope there's another instalment.
