The third of a series about serial killer Rhiannon! My word this lady is completely bonkers... if you’ve read the other two you’ll know what I mean. This book was shockingly funny, page turning and hopefully will lead to book four.

Book 3 did not disappoint...OK so it wasn't as funny and I did miss that but there was SO much going on that it definitely steered you away from being hung up over it.

Yes Dead Head was absolutely action packed with some new characters you met along the way who I totally fell in love with - Caro and Tenoch, Awkkk I just LOVED them ❤

Without giving anything away, it was quite surprisingly refreshing to see a different side to Rhiannon Lewis and although a different book to the first two, CJ Skuse has expertly pulled an absolute blinder once again whilst at the same time engineering the story in a slightly different direction which for some stories may not have worked. In my opinion anyway it absolutely did work! Pure skill.

I've been pacing back and forth through my house since I finished In Bloom, waiting for this fella to come out. Thanks to Netgalley I didn't have to wait until February.

We pick up the story a little while after Rhiannon flees the UK, in New York where she meets up with the journalist who she sent her confession to. The majority of the story that follows gives us the missing section of how we got to New York.

While there's not quite the same murderyness in this book as the first two, we do delve a lot more into Rhiannon's character and see her develop a lot during the course of her story. I've seen reviews that suggest this book is not as good as the first two but I disagree entirely; this book holds up just as well as the first two. Rhiannon's tale of escape has many twists and turns, and with plenty of new characters to love and hate along the way. I'm sure anyone reading would love to see Caro again, and the way this book ends there's a lot of scope for at least a fourth book, which after finishing this one I can't wait for.

Dead Head is the third, eagerly awaited book in the Sweet Pea series, which do need to be read in order (Sweet Pea, In Bloom, Dead Head).
Rhiannon Lewis has made arrangements to flee the country and is making her escape on board a cruise ship. She is on her way to meet up with someone who can arrange a new identity for her, and it seems as though she is going to give up her old murdering ways and start a new life.
I absolutely loved Dead Head, I admit it may not be for everyone as it contains lots of swearing, the subject matter is intense and the descriptions pretty graphic. If, however, you are like me and you like your heroines dark, a bit twisted and you are not a fan of sex attackers, you will love it!
I would give this book 5⭐️, more if I could! I loved it and I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

Rhiannon Lewis is back!

Her story picks up sometime after her escape. She is now in New York where she bumps into an old friend who is desperate to know how she escaped. Rhiannon shares her story starting with the cruise ship.

Whilst I miss the Rhiannon of the first book, I like that you get to see a different side to her. I loved Caro and the relationship that they built during the cruise. I also loved Tenoch and how he seemed to know and understand Rhiannon. I think this book showed how desperate Rhiannon is to be loved and showed us a softer side.

I really enjoyed it and hope the qween will be back for a fourth installment.

Excellent third instalment of the series of Rhiannon Lewis. I was surprised to still be as entertained by her tales and I continue to laugh and empathise with her quirky and morbid personality. This account was very fast paced and I’m already eager to find out what happens next after being left on a very intense cliffhanger!

I waited for this book after reading the first 2 books, I couldn't wait to read this one and see where Rhiannon ends up and what happens to her.
The characters were amazing as usual, you really get sucked into the plot lines and they keep you wanting more, the need to know where it is going without the boring slow parts like some books do. We get to know some information from the past with some of the characters that just makes you either love them more or really want them to be killed off. I love how the author added reference to their other book 'The Alibi Girl' in the book.

C J Skuse has done it again!

Readable, funny, shocking - this is everything you expect from the Sweetpea series. If you loved the previous two you will love this one.
So enjoyable.

As a huge fan of the previous books in the Sweetpea series, I was so excited to see that Dead Head was available for request, and as soon as my request for access was granted, I bumped it straight to the top of my reading pile!

There's always a bit of dread with a sequel for me - and even more so when it's the third instalment. Is there enough of a story? Do we really want/need more of this character? And more importantly, can the author keep the story original and engaging rather than repeating the same plot in a different way?

THANK GOD, the answer in this case to each of those questions is a resounding yes. CK Skuse has created such a unique and brilliantly drawn character in Rhiannon Lewis, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of her incisive humour, dark observations, and absolute inability to suffer fools. Dead Head picks up where In Bloom, the second book, left off, with Rhiannon on the run following her murder spree, thinly disguised on a cruise ship she boarded at Southampton, and waiting for her new life to start. I don't want to say too much as the plot unravels gradually, but I loved the story in this one - Rhiannon has definitely changed over the course of the books, but I love that although she adapts and starts to feel differently about certain things, her essential character isn't diluted. It was great to see her establish real functioning relationships in this book, and I loved the continuation of the story so much. The ending (no spoilers!) was great but clearly left an opening for more Rhiannon - and I for one cannot WAIT.

Unique and sparky character, witty dialogue, and dark dark DARK - loved it.

I ADORE Rhiannon! I love her split personality, especially the ‘maniac’ side of her and was so thrilled that CJ Skuse brought her back.

I admit, it’s been awhile since I read SWEETPEA and IN BLOOM. So it took me a little while to piece together her victims names with their wrongdoings and ultimate deaths. But if you’ve just finished them, you’re in luck because this one picks up exactly where book 2 ended- boarding a cruise ship from Southampton.

In the same way that Rhiannon struggles with her split personas the story felt split also.

‘When she was good she was very, very good’... When Rhiannon isn’t fighting an urge to hunt down, maim and destroy. She’s a sweet, homely, girly-girl who loves Sylvanians, flowers, kids and ultimately just wants to be in love and adored. DEAD HEAD sees her cruising around the med, sightseeing, eating glorious food and helping old ladies. I felt this took up a lot of valuable real estate and was just too vanilla for me.

‘When she was bad she was horrid’... Now this is what people pick up the books to read! The lists are back! The whole other half of the story is this bubbling chess pit of hate that ends in what can only be described in a pure Tarantino technicolour. Rhiannon, for me is at her most funniest, interesting and daring when this side of her gets air time. Unlike the previous novels, this side of her was on the back burner for a long time and I was ‘dying’ for her to unleash the beast!

A hilarious novel, full of witty insights and dark humour - CJ Skuse is an excellent writer and I’ve never read anything quite like her. This book is such an entertaining read but I wonder if anymore from this series is stretching a good thing too thin? This book hints towards a 4th and I know I will be first in the cue to read it. But SWEETPEA is still the ultimate Rhiannon. So much so, this book has made me want to go back and read it’s predecessors again!

My thoughts of this brilliant powerful thriller was outstanding a nail biting ending that was just mindblowing the characters were just unviable highly recommended with its powerful story.

This was another great instalment in the sweet pea series.

As with the other two books I loved the writing and Rhiannon as always.

This book is definitely not for the faint hearted or the easily offended. There was some hilarious parts of this book, which had me chuckling away

However, this book was quite different from the other two in the series.

I can't say too much as I don't want to give any spoilers, but Rhiannon isn't quite the same as she is in the first two books because of what's happened to her. It's great to see the character development but I miss the old Rhiannon.

I also think this book was too long. I wouldn't say it dragged or I was bored because the plot was constantly moving along and was fast paced. But it definitely felt long.

However, I still really enjoyed this book. There was a link to one of C.J Skuse's books which I completely missed before and thought was really clever.

Also, the ending. That ending. No spoilers but I don't think we've seen the end of Rhiannon yet.

Overall, even though it wasn't my favourite book in the series I still loved it

I’m a big fan of the Sweetpea series so I was thrilled to receive an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

Book three picks up where we left off. Rhiannon has escaped the UK. The book takes you through how she managed it and what life on the run has been like for her.

Rhiannon is the same vile, bizarre, weirdly likable character as ever with her trademark humor and lack of concern for murdering people. Still talking about murder like it is a daily routine such as brushing her teeth.

This book is spectacular and you do see some really significant changes in her outlook and her ambition for the future. I loved it.

Another roller coaster ride featuring your favourite girl next door serial killer Rhiannon Lewis.
I'm not saying I liked Rhiannon in this book,but I definitely preferred her to the last book, she faced everything straight on,and seemed to have grown as a person.. a bit.
Still good to have the hit list at the start of the chapter,and a little concerning how many times I agreed with them.
It's definitely a fun ride.

The third in the Sweetpea series and has Rhiannon lost her mojo? Well, not exactly but she does appear to be turning over a new leaf. So, what’s next...? Enjoyable reading as usual although missing much of the fun and games of the first two books in this series.

I was really looking forward to reading this as I absolutely loved the first two books in the series. I love the way they're written - Rhiannon's observations always make me laugh and worryingly I find her to be such a relatable character!

I really enjoyed seeing Rhiannon make some genuine connections in this book - I absolutely loved Caro from the cruise ship and I also liked her dynamic with Tenoch.

The only thing I would say is that I missed the murders!! I understand that this book was to show that Rhiannon has moved on and developed but I loved all the gory details from the first two books. There was still a little of it to be found in this one but I did want a bit more.

I thought this was a really good third chapter to the series. The ending left room for a fourth book but I would also be content if it finished there.

We're back with the third instalment of serial killer Rhiannon's exploits. I vaguely remember the events of the first two books but remember them enough to know where we'd left off with Rhiannon giving birth and then going on the run. We pick up virtually where the events of the second book left off with Rhiannon making her way off on a cruise.

I both loved this book and did not love it; I love that we're back with Rhiannon because I found her to just be entirely nuts and enjoyable. I also loved that the lists were back, honestly they're one of my favourite parts of these books because I find them hilarious but also slightly relatable... we all have those pet peeves in people that drive us a bit nuts, fortunately most of us wouldn't go around killing everyone on those lists.

I liked aspects of this book when we saw Rhiannon as Rhiannon; I read this series because I love how nuts and relentless she is, I didn't really want to read about her falling in love and becoming part of a family who had no idea who she was. The book felt like it was two personalities, which to be fair, is a good representation of who Rhiannon is. She's trying not to kill but there is always part of her that wants it.

The book's open ending definitely sets you up for their being a book 4, but I am wondering a bit just how long this series can go on without Rhiannon being caught. An enjoyable instalment but perhaps not my favourite.
