A good book with information about a lot of topics.
However, where this one fell through for me was that, while it speaks about a lot of things, it never goes into any depth with any of of it. Much of it all is an overview...and then telling you to see your doctor or talk with your GP. While I get it that this book was written by a British doctor and targeted for the NHS system of Britain, it does feel like a let-down to read such a long book and not really come out with much more information than 'speak to your GP/doctor about it'.
I was expecting more actionable advice in here, and while there are nuggets of advice, they are pretty 'standard' and common sense like eat an anti-inflammatory diet, reduce stress, prioritize sleep, and maybe meditate a little.
Still, for someone looking for avenues where they might address their health post-40, there are a lot of talking points here that they can then bring up with their doctor
Lots of detailed information on the health problems women over 40 face and what to do about them. Interesting and well written.
Loved this book. Loved this doctor's approach to explaining how to be radiant and deal with issues many of us face after 40. The author was warm, friendly, and engaging, with the science and research told in an interesting way. Lots of great information. Reading this book was like sitting down and talking with a good friend about health and well-being.
I’m impressed with this book. It’s content is broad and comprehensive, giving women over 40 lots to think about or try. It was interesting to read about the author’s background and experiences and to hear from other practitioners about their practices. I will have to purchase a paper copy as there’s so much information that it’s impossible to remember everything I’ve read. I’d highly recommend this one.
Honestly I got this book to help the ladies I work with. They are all wonderous women over 40. Somehow there aren't many nearly as many science based books for women over 40 as I made the assumption there would be. When I saw this was available I jumped on it. Now I've recommended it to all of them. I loved how easy to read this was, but it's sciency enough for those of us who need to see cited studies. There are tons of practical tips, ways for women to advocate for themselves, and ways to empower women over 40 to take better care of their health. It was a fantastic read regardless of if you fall in this category. If you are female, this is a good read, or you have a spouse who is female: also read this.
I would like to thank the publisher, Troubadour Publishing LTD. and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of "Your Best Life- A Doctor's Secret Guide to Radiant Health Over 40, by Louise Wiseman.
I was very curious from the title of the book and consider myself so lucky that i received an ARC of this absolute must read of this book. This book is a great reference for all women of any age as the earlier we know how to take care of ourselves, the better. And let us be honest, changing habits take time so the earlier we start the better.
The book deals with most health issues and issues affecting women particularly, such as the psychology of aging, health screening and beauty, mental health, dental care, skin care products, hair loss, the importance of female bonding, diet and exercise, supplements and muscles and joints.
This book essay to read and the information is presented very well. This book serves as a reference and thus does not have to be read all in one sitting but rather over time or when an issue presents itself in your life.
I highly recommend this book!! It makes a great present to all of your female friends and family members.
Having seen this mentioned on the Absolute Collagen website I knew it would be a great book to read. I’ve only had a brief look so far but it looks fab and I can’t wait to read it properly

Thriving over 40 doesn't have to be as difficult as they make it sound. I loved this book for the realness and honest inspiration to be my best even as I age!
A really all encompassing guide to women's health, including nutrition, exercise, mental health, etc. Very thorough and packed with useful information.
Praise for Doctor Wiseman, she is very careful, which I like, and does not make statements without evidence, having said that she gives tips gleaned from her 15 years working as a general practitioner, on subjects like meditation, which she outlines in a straightforward manner, and vision issues, which are common in people over 40. Her inspiration came when she was ill with pneumonia, and wanted to improve her health in the future.
