I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Picks up where Book1 ended and it was nice to get back to this world and its characters. Ms. Redland writes with her own brand of emotions and delving deep into the characters and their lives, and the twists and turns along the way. It's a good one, just feels like you 'know' you're in the middle of a story that's gonna be very long now (at least 2 other books out in this narrative, I believe - possibly more) so it does feel like a stopgap, and I missed that 'clear ending' part in this read. Still, it's a good read and really sweet and encompassing, so don't let the long-windedness of the series put you off

Favorite Quotes:

If I could turn back the clock… I’d have been honest about that choice right from the start. We’re not time-travellers, though, and life’s about learning to live with the decisions we make and the impact of those decisions.

I’ll always love that man but I’ve come to realise that he was my northwest. Almost perfect but not perfect enough to last forever.

I’ve come to the conclusion that life is pretty strange and sometimes we just have to roll with it.

My Review:

Another winsome and engaging Jessica Redland read that kept me happily entertained and pleasantly amused all day. I am enamored with this delightful series and being a true animal lover, I’m now curiously fascinated and borderline obsessed with hedgehogs, which are creatures I’ve never seen but now have gained an exceptional amount of usable knowledge of their needs and care should I ever meet one in the future.

Jessica Redland is a deft hand at smoothly weaving endearing, easy to fall into, and distinctively satisfying stories that effortlessly pull me into her characters’ uniquely involved vortex where I experience their perils and thrills right along with them as if I were an invited guest with first-hand knowledge. Her characters are so fully inhabited I feel I could reach out and touch them, and often wish I could. I hope this series lasts into perpetuity, as I doubt I could ever grow tired of their oddly complicated family dynamics.

The main character of Samantha is the type of lovely and generously spirited person we all wished we could be but few could ever possibly achieve her level of thoughtful and innate kindness. She is far too empathetic and forgiving of her obnoxious and malicious family members' repeatedly vile exchanges, intentional slights, selfish behaviors, and venomous personalities. While I espouse to the theory of what goes around comes around, I am more the type to grow impatient with the wait and help karma along.

Jessica Redland is definitely one of my favourite authors her books are always full of great characters and really warmhearted and uplifting so you always have a smile on your face when you are reading them. Samantha and Josh are lovely characters and the descriptions of the hoglets are so cute that you definitely look at hedgehogs in a new light after reading these books. Looking forward to the next one in the series

One thing I love about Jessica Redland's books is they are an instant pick me upper, an instant put me in a happy mood kind of book, the perfect escapism.
The setting is delightful, the farm with the sweet little hoglets, the meadow and the cast of characters which I am just meeting now as I haven't had a chance to read the first book in the series.
The characters , human and hedgehog alike will settle into a special place in your heart.
Our main character runs a hedgehog rescue center and it takes up a lot of her time. Well it's impossible to save them all and it really makes her so sad if she's unable to .
Like most people I never really thought one way or another about hedgehogs but after reading this I see what a sweet personality they have.
She tries so hard at her hedgehog rescue center almost single handidly and some just don't want her to succeed going as far as being destructive to her property and destroying food for the hedgehogs. That made me feel bad.
With all she has to deal with and family issues creeping in will it be more than she is able to handle?

It was so good to revisit Hedgehog hollow and Sam and Josh and all the drama the little hedgehogs bring.

I was still routing for Sam and Joshs relationship and was glad to know it was going well. They seem to be a strong and lovely couple, so loving and care so much for one another.

After the trouble she had in 'Finding love at hedgehog hollow', it's really Sad that poor Sam is still getting trouble from the attackers. It would really frighten me in that situation but she has some amazing people around her and they always rally round and help when needed.

I really connected with Fizz's character and she was definitely in the right place at the right time. It seems like serendipity that they met and that Fizz knows so many people that she can get on board with things. She's a really exciteable character but she was calm and level headed when Sam needed her to be.

I always love a happy book, there are parts of this book that are sad and I welled up a couple of times but for the most part it's a happy one and I loved it.

I really enjoyed learning about hedgehogs in this book because in the first one Sam is getting to grips with things but in this one Sam and the author explain more about whats happening with the rescue hedgehogs.

It's a lovely heartwarming story and a the saving of hedgehogs and other wildlife is something close to my heart so I love it all the more.

How lovely is this read!!! i had such a nice time with this 3rd book in the Hedgehog Hollow series! If you love hedgehog this book is for you! This 3rd part is full of them! and it's so lovely! but there is so much more happening in this book, they are family drama and issue, romance (of course!), some misteries are going on and there is even a touch of crime/detective novel in this book which I absolutely loved! I have the 4th book of this series in my TBR and I cannot wait to dive into it! Really good books!!! I totally recommend this series!!

Jessica Redland returns with a fantastic new novel that is simply delightful: New Arrivals at Hedgehog Hollow. Uplifting, heartwarming and wonderfully romantic, settle down in a comfy chair and get ready to lose yourself in this immensely enjoyable tale.

As the owner of the rescue centre Hedgehog Hollow, Samantha has certainly got a lot on her plate – and she simply couldn’t be happier. Everything seems to be finally coming together for Samantha. All of her dreams have come true, the centre is thriving and she has the love of her life, Josh, by her side who is always at hand to support, encourage and help out whenever needed. Samantha feels like she is on top of the world, however, this doesn’t mean that life for her is a bed of roses as she quickly discovers when things begin to get more and more complicated for her. Will Samantha crumble under pressure? Will Josh still be by her side as life begins to spiral out of her control? Or will all of their problems and difficulties end up putting Hedgehog Hollow in jeopardy?

As the centre prepares to welcome an influx of new hogs and hoglets, Samantha wonders whether she can continue to keep all of these plates spinning. With a full time job and a plethora of family issues that are cropping up with rather alarming frequency, Samantha cannot help but wonder whether she has spread herself too thin. Has she taken on far more than she can actually chew? Are her dreams about to be dashed to smithereens? Or does she just need to trust her instincts and follow her heart?

It looks like Josh will not emerge from all this turmoil and trouble unscathed either. Josh has also got skeletons from his own family’s closet to deal with and when he finds himself forced to make an impossible decision, he wonders whether the time has come for him to do the one thing he swore never ever to do: forgive his father. Can Josh move on from his past and lay old ghosts to rest? Or is he going to end up trapped by past demons and never forgotten fears and insecurities?

Change is well on its way to Hedgehog Hollow, but will Samantha and Josh be able to weather all the storms coming their way? Is their love strong enough? Or is heartache and disappointment in both of their futures?

New Arrivals at Hedgehog Hollow is such a lovely read! Jessica Redland has written a book that will make you smile that is also peppered with plenty of emotion, drama and pathos that will have you reaching for the tissues at certain moments. A talented writer who can make readers laugh and cry on the same page, Jessica Redland has penned a believable, heart-warming and engrossing read about two terrific characters who are so three dimensional and realistic that they will feel like old friends by the end of the book.

Full of hope, humour and heart, Jessica Redland’s New Arrivals at Hedgehog Hollow is superb escapism at its feel-good best.

This is the second in a series. You don’t have to have read the first book as Jessica gives you an insight into what happened in the last book.
Samantha owns the Hedgehog Hollow rescue as well as working at the local University . Her boyfriend Josh helps her out he is also a vet.
Both Samantha and Josh have personal problems with their families.
This book has everything in it . It was a joy to read.
Can’t wait for the next book.
Thanks NetGalley

Loved Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow so was very excited to hear there was another in the series and I wasn’t disappointed. The love story played out nicely despite many obstacles in their path and those hedgehogs were an added cute dimension to an otherwise great story. On top of that there’s a cliffhanger setting us up for another book in the series. Can’t wait!

A fabulous second book in the series, in fact it’s an actual continuation from the first book. I enjoy a good series, and this has definitely started to become a firm favourite, with some really great characters and a brilliant, cute setting – Hedgehog Hollow!
If I thought Sammie and Josh went through a lot in the first book than brace yourself because this book brings plenty more ups and downs! Written from both Sammie and Josh’s point of view, we rally get to see how each feel, understanding them in more detail.
I couldn’t put this book down, I was well and truly hooked from the start. I have really taken these characters to heart. Jessica Redlands writing is great, easy to get along with and the story moves along at a great pace.

Samantha (Sam) Wishaw is the proud owner of Hedgehog Hollow, a hedgehog rescue centre located in the Yorkshire Wolds. As well as managing the rescue centre which is tremendously busy with a new influx of hedgehogs and hoglets, Sam also believes she can continue with her full-time job at the local university, but juggling both is proving tough though she has her boyfriend, Josh, willing to lend a hand. However, life for Josh is not proving to be plain sailing either and he has a few issues of his own to deal with.

Although New Arrivals at Hedgehog Hollow is the sequel to another book, Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow, this one is complete in itself so you can dive in here should you wish to. In a story written in alternating viewpoints from both Sam and Josh, I felt I got know these two main characters very quickly and easily warmed to them both. Sam showed how big-hearted she is, even whilst struggling with her own challenges. Josh has some extremely personal and difficult problems to work through involving his father and a girl from his past.

In her compelling tale, Jessica Redland realistically portrays complicated and painful family relationships and I adored the author's descriptions of the charming setting. Along with the pleasing characters and dashes of romance, I really enjoyed the tidbits of information about hedgehogs and their care. In a tale that was all about families, friendships, kindness, forgiveness and general life, there were dramatic moments as well as touching scenes. All in all, New Arrivals at Hedgehog Hollow is a lovely, heartwarming, as well as an emotional novel that I have no hesitation in recommending. I look forward to reading more from Jessica Redland.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Boldwood Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

I read this a while ago and have been sitting on the review for some time. I had a lot of fun with the author's original Whistborough series and binge-read them. The first book in the Hedgehog hollow, however, was not my thing. This second book is an improvement on the previous one in many ways.
The story is set around a hedgehog rescue that was set up in the first instalment. This book should not be read out of order, since it picks up immediately after it left off in the first. Hedgehog Hollow is officially open for business, and our leading lady is recovering from the after-effects of things that happened the last visit. Majority of the content focusses on the actual day-to-day of a hedgehog rescue. It was quite enlightening, to say the least. The inter-personal relationships continue to be a little unbelievable(to me). It is a testament to the writing that I still enjoyed the book. Each character is individually one that you might have met and liked before (the good guys) in other books of this genre. I just am unable to buy their interactions. I do not go into the people's details in the review because that is what the reading experience would be for.
Luckily the most significant sticking point, the mother-daughter vicious feud had only a few episodes, and an explanation or two were given for the history of it all. Overall, it ends on a pretty dramatic note laying the groundwork for the next book.

I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

Another fantastic book by Jessica Redland, I’m quite new to Jessica’s books but she is very quickly becoming a firm favourite. Each book grabs you into her world from the very start.
This is the second book in The Hedgehog Hollow series and tells the story of Sammie and her boyfriend Josh as they open up a hedgehog rescue on the farm that she inherited from her friend Thomas.
It also introduces us to Josh’s dad and his partner Beth (Josh’s ex) and a few other favourites from the first book.
Jessica also shared a lot of Hedgehog facts and made me fall in love with the little creatures too.
This book is a must for fans of Jessica Redland and anyone who enjoys a feel good story of love and romance.
Thank you Jessica, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the early download.

We begin as we ended...and grow to so much more.

No time has truly passed since we said goodbye to our new found friends from Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow, and we're all the better for it! (QUICK NOTE: If you haven't read the first, I definitely recommend it, but the author has you covered with a quickie catchup portion at the start of the book!) Sam and Josh are getting the grand opening underway with the help of the community that had embraced them...but that doesn't mean everything will be a bed of roses minus the thorns. In fact, they are in for some severe growing pains both personally and professionally as the charity comes under attack (several gruesome acts, but they are given less than detailed moments to help avoid total heartbreak), family ties thought severed attempt to be rebuilt, new friends are added to the brood, and life choices are altered by new understandings. It's a prickly ride full of heart that, yes, has its moments, but that's life! They're all the more REAL for it. One small thing though...I've still not warmed to Chloe. Honestly, I know Sam is saint-like in patience, but between Chloe and the mom? Ugh! I'd have ended that LONG ago. Perhaps we'll (or I'll in case I'm in the minority here) get a better relationship built with her in the next installment because it looks like there'll definitely be some drama!

All in all, a lovely addition to a series that has captured my heart. If you're a fan of Contemporary, or Women's Fiction, I highly recommend this charming series for a reading escape you just might not want to come back from...
