This is a heartwarming tale set in the picturesque backdrop of Aysbury, where the magic of Christmas weaves through the lives of its inhabitants. The novel is filled with warmth, charm, and a sense of belonging and paints a quaint and idyllic picture of Christmas in Aysbury. I found the absence of significant challenges faced by the characters a pleasant surprise because that's what I want from my Christmas themed novels, a bit of happiness and escapism.
Overall this novel is filled with vivid descriptions and well-rounded characters in a community brimming with festive cheer and community spirit. I listened to an audio version while I baked and found it a delightful escape to a snow-covered landscape filled with love, laughter, and the magic of the holiday season.
Lovely feel good book to listen to. It was a joy to hear. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book to all. lovely location, to set the scene Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season.
This was the cutest, most Christmassy book I have read! I completely fell for the couple and it put me in such a cozy and cheery mood. I appreciated the chemistry of the characters greatly and saw a lot of myself in the main female character.
This was a brilliant read and is being featured on my blog for my quick star reviews feature, which I have created on my blog so I can catch up with all the books I have read and therefore review.

A cosy story based around the tight-knit Aysbury marina community in the Cotswolds. Imogen (Immi) lives with her grandfather Tollie, having been abandoned by her mother as a baby and orphaned after her father’s death. Secrets abound, but the Aysbury marina community is supportive and there are plenty of characters to like, including Immi’s reliable boyfriend Gray Adams.
The narration is gentle, enthused and brings to life the wide cast of characters within the story. However, the pace of it is too slow for my taste – I need more drama and jeopardy. That doesn’t mean it isn’t told with warmth and enthusiasm and if you want a hug within a book, then this is it.
Perfect for those looking for a festive read in the winter months, a warm-hearted cold weather feast!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for my feedback.
Absolutely gorgeous story. All the feel good factors. Easy to listen too , the narrator sounded great.
Absolutely loved it
Highly recommended
This is an amazing Christmas book, which I really loved and enjoyed. The story is about a woman called Immi who is in love with a man called Gray and together they have to find a way to stay close, even when they have to live apart. I loved the Christmas cruises where Tollie, Immi's grandad, played Santa and Immi played an elf. The story is so cute and heartwarming and I especially enjoyed reading about Immi getting close to Mrs Price. The narrator of the book was great and told the story well. Overall, this is a wonderful, cosy Christmas read which will warm your heart on a cold day. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading book 2 of the series soon, to catch up with Immi, Gray, Tollie and all the rest of the Christmas gang.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
A really lovely festive read. Nothing horrible happens just clean romance with loveable characters set in a lovely location.
I enjoyed listening to this book on my daily lockdown walks. The narrator was easy to listen to but the sudden change to a male narrator towards the end puzzled me. Not overly festive it was a nice relaxing read.
The perfect village Christmas full of friendship, love and family. Lots of Christmas cheer but some deep family secrets too.
Lovely story, ggod book for a night by the fire in your bedclothes, I couldn't put the book down, made me laugh and cry with an unexpected ending, Well done Lucy
This was a nice, simple, festive read set in Cotswolds. The description of the town and surrounding was very good. I found it a bit slow at the beginning, but after a while I got into it and it was lovely with a cosy, happy ending.
The narrator is also very good, a beautiful, calming voice.
This audiobook is perfect for someone who is looking for some lighthearted, easy festive read.

I thought this was a nice, simple, heart-warming festive audiobook, albeit a little twee and predictable.
Personally I wasn’t very keen on the narrator’s voice, which took away some of the enjoyment for me.
Nice festive read, however, I found the story line to be quite predictable which ruined the book for me. I also felt like not much happened. I loved the characters and the family vibe.
An easy to read book for the Christmas period. Loved the characters and enjoyed the unexpected ending! The narrator was great too.
I enjoy any book set in the Cotswolds, I listened it via audio which def changes how you follow along in a book. It was an easy listen but felt slow at the start. I loved the little descriptions of the town and the surrounding area as it felt like I could imagine the place well knowing some of the area. It is a place I love to visit so although we are not able to travel at the minute, it felt a little like a trip. The overall story was slower than some I read but if you want something light to read, it provides that. My only disappointment is a mist the last chapter as I was listen through the net galley app and it won't let me rewind.
Hope it ended well :)
A sweet little festive story set in the Cotswolds. I wasn't particularly engaged in it and listening to it in January, after all the festivities were over (even the limited lockdown version) I just felt a bit 'urgh'. It was all just a little too upbeat and twee. Maybe I'll give it another go this December...
*I would like to take a moment to thank the publishers and netgalley for an audio arc in exchange of an honest review*
I really wanted something lighthearted and sweet when I requested this, but I actually found it too twee. No one is struggling, everyone is happy and gets along and loves one another and it all kinda makes you feel like the author has never met another human in their life. Like even the issues the characters are facing still seem like everyone is so okay and happy happy.
The main character Imogen I didn’t feel any connection with at all, she’s way too obsessed with her boyfriend and pretty much attributes him with her entire personality and her reason to be alive which is really concerning. Especially as her boyfriend is super bland and goody goody. I’m not saying I want him to be an asshole but there’s no evidence of conflict or anything between them even though there should be.
So basically nothing was happening other than people being happy and twee and I got annoyed so I had to stop listening.
The narrator has a nice voice though with a good range, and is one of the few narrators that doesn’t speak at -15 miles per hour so I didn’t have to listen to her on x3. Overall, very disappointed though.
I listened to Christmas at Lock Keeper's Cottage on audio.
This is such a lovely story, lots of strong characters and wonderful descriptions. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this, it added some well needed warmth and escapism to the dull January days!
Immy is an entertaining protagonist and the story line is absorbing and quaint. Ideal for a binge read/ listen.
