Elijah Weston is dreadful at feuding. For one, he prefers horticulture to horses. For two, he's been desperately in love with his mortal enemy ever since he kissed her. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Erica Ridley is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.
This fun Regency romance is the eleventh book in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series by one of my favorite romance authors, Erica Ridley. While the stories interconnect, each book focuses on one couple and can be enjoyed on its own. Each book also features a different “duke,” but the duke might not be what you were expecting. And watch for the relevant reference to “The Twelve Days of Christmas” carol in each book!
The main characters are two exceptionally talented people living lives shaped by past trauma and their fathers’ decades-long feud. Horse trainer Olive Harper and scholar and botanist Elijah Weston initially seem like opposites, but they are equally passionate in pursuit of their individual interests. I adored how willful and competent both of them are. Eli isn’t perfect, but he becomes a swoon-worthy romantic hero. It was exciting watching him slowly reveal his secrets to Olive and earn her respect, and seeing her gain self-confidence and learn to trust him.
The story is told in chapters alternating between Olive and Eli’s perspective, which worked well here. I loved how the plot kept revealing new twists, and I wanted to cheer at the gratifying Epilogue. I also appreciated the author’s note about the history of sign language and the challenges of language interpretation.
I recommend this book, and the entire series, for fans of Regency romance.
I was provided an ARC through NetGalley that I volunteered to review.

It’s no surprise to me that this is yet another hit in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series. I very much enjoyed the interactions between Olive and Eli. It was a shame that Eli’s father was such a retched beast to force his young son to be so cruel to Olive when they were impressionable teenagers. I was frustrated that even as an adult, Eli allowed his father to rule his actions as he presented Eli with a huge moral/ethical issue... is it ok to hurt 1 or 2 people in order to possibly save countless lives? I wanted to know what caused the feud between Olive and Eli’s fathers, but it wasn’t really important for this story. This is a must read in this series but as with all the others can be read as a standalone.
Will the past and scheming parents keep them apart ...
Oh my!
I adored this one.
This series is fabulous and each new installment is a marvel to cheer the mood.
After I am a sucker for romance with scholars as they are the male counterpart of Bluestockings or wallflowers as often overlooked with disdain.
And Elijah is seen as unworthy by his cruel father.
How he made do with such an ugly soul, is simply astonishing, a proof of his resilience.
Yet sure, he was ready to follow his father’s scheme but it is for a greater cause.
He is such a good man but embroiled in his sire’s need of revenge, he is torn between two fires when he wants only to make things right for the woman he wronged a decade ago and has never stopped to think about.
Olive emerged stronger from the issues of her youth, and while she made a cross on some of her dreams, she rebuilt herself in a more successful and liberated version of her old self.
She is suffering from the after effects of her encounter with Eli’s demonic father, yet, she is no more the young girl of 14 who ran away.
And what began as a lark with Elijah, turns into an exploration of their feelings and the healing of their twisted relationship.
I just loved them together, they chalenge one another, reopen festering wounds to better cure them but also smooth their scars.
I just does not agree with the non punishment of the Marquess, he deserves to be thrown from a horse and trampled by it, or the less bloodthirsty version a bit of groveling to request his son and Olive’s forgiveness.

I was granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Ten Days with a Duke is part of the 12 Dukes of Christmas series. They can be read in any order, they are romantic fun quick reads. I've enjoyed every book that Erica Ridley has written.
Sure this was an okay regency romance. It had a good obstacle to the romance and some standard cheese but it was a bit too nice and safe for me. I prefer sass and spark and banter.
I prefer my heroes more charming and confident than Eli, he didn't just own his attraction to Olive, he didn't try and stand up to his father but then he didn't just own the duplicity for this good and worthy cause. Eli mate, man up a bit.
It was a fine afternoon read but I probably won't remember it in a few weeks.
Another super cute 12 Dukes of Christmas story! Olive is the famous horse breeder and trainer. Elijah would much rather be in his plant world than ever ride a horse again, but due to their fathers he is back. After hurting her years before he falls even more in love with her over time! They grow to like each other and also understand their backgrounds.
I'm going to be so sad to see these novella be done soon. I just loved this series and hope Erica writes a new one like this. The town and people are just wonderful to see flashes of during these books. They are cute, heartwarming, Christmas-y, and we get HEA!!
Overall, 5 stars and 3 steam
This is book eleven in the Twelve Dukes of Christmas series. Olive just wants to inherit and continue to run her father’s stud farm. Elijah just wants to study Botany looking for medicinal cures. When their fathers decide to end a feud by arranging them to marry, sparks fly. They agree to spend ten days together to deny any attraction and move on with their lives. I received an ARC from NetGalley and WebMotion for my honest reviews.
Another winner from Erica Ridley. This Regency novel contains an unusual duke, plucky heroine and studly but sensitive hero. Things are not always as they seem, but never fear, there just might be a happily ever after waiting at the finish line. Contains steamy scenes if you prefer your stories on the sweet side and disturbing references to child abuse.
Kids and teens can be very cruel. It's worse when they are being egged on by an adult.
Eli is torn, you can feel his struggle. Olive is also for a different reason. I love a happy ending. All of the Duke books promise to have the best.
A witty enemies to lovers story.
Olive doesn't want to lose her stud farm to the son of the rival farm, nor does she want to lose her heart to him. He had humiliated her before, twice. Now she has ten days to get rid of the knave, but that doesn't mean she can't enjoy toying with him meanwhile.
Elijah doesn't want a stud farm, he'd much more like to study medicinal herbs. He lost his heart to Olive before he even kissed her for the first time, right before he humiliated her the first time. With marriage license in hand, he has ten days to win Olive's heart. He's willing to grovel, he's even willing to face his biggest fear for her.
Both characters are scarred from previous encounters. Both have had difficult pasts. Both are hiding part of who they are. Both characters are overcoming their fears and growing towards a happy ending.
This installment of The Twelve Dukes of Christmas is a charming, easy and quick read. It has more of a fairytale feel to it than the other books, which I enjoyed. Olive and Elijah were a likeable couple and I enjoyed their story. I received an ARC for my honest.
Ten Days with a Duke By Erica Ridley is the eleventh book in the series 12 Dukes of Christmas. I have enjoyed each of the books in this series. The books are light hearted love stories with unique characters and fun situations. The village is Cressmore but called Christmas with all the variety of characters makes it just a fun place to visit. The fact that all the stories in this series are set in Christmas is just icing on the cake.
In this particular novel we are introduced to Olive Harper and her famous horses. She is all about the training and caring of her horses and looks forward to continuing her life in just that vein. Her father however, has a different idea.
Elijah Weston is a scholar and botanist. His family owns the largest horse farm in the nation. A long time ago, Olive and Elijah’s parents were friends and partners. His father is forcing him to participate in a scheme to make the Harper’s pay.
Elijah and Olive have no desire to marry or even form a relationship, but they are forced together. Both feel forced by their family, but slowly are feeling more for each other. I loved them together (perhaps even they might be my favorite pair). Ten Days with a Duke by Erica Ridley was a good read.
I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review
Both sweet and sexy, this author just keeps getting better and better! Looking forward to the next one
Ten Days with a Duke
Book 11 in the 12 Dukes of Christmas Series
Rating: 4 stars
Thank you to the author/publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this one. I'm usually not a fan of second chance at romance tropes, but this one was so good. The circumstances in which Eli and Olive are driven apart when they were younger were so sad. Especially for her since he is the one who hurt her feelings in a very cruel way. We later find out Eli's reasons for doing that and the author did a good job in making us feel bad for him too.
It is ten years later when both their fathers decide to intervene in their lives that Eli and Olive are brought together. Both parents have their own reasons for doing so. I felt Olive's pain for not trusting whatever Eli would say to her. It is as the same time that we get to learn Eli's true feelings towards her and all that he had to endure in order to please his father.
Olive fought her feelings for him, but it was Eli's determination to prove himself that finally gave them that opportunity to finally find their HEA.
Ten Days with a Duke by Erica Ridley
It is about a feud between the Harper’s and Weston’s their respective son and daughter are completely opposites one only lives for horses the other is a complete scholar and that’s when the fun begins when they are to become betrothed.
Another great book from Erica Ridley in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series.
All the stand alone books I have read so far from have been good.
This book is well written. Funny a bit sad in bits but a fun read very enjoyable
Olive and Elijah's story is one of great passion.
It has great characters and a good storyline. It is one of the best in the Twelve Dukes series.
It's Erica Ridley at her best. Humor and love abounds
Erica Ridley has done it again! I've loved every one of the 12 dukes of Christmas series. They're the perfect length to read if you only have an hour free, and so heartwarming. The characters each have things holding them back but it's nice to see them battling these so that love wins out in the end. I would definitely recommend this book to others and advise to read the whole series as, even though they don't follow on from each other as they're each about different characters, the story is equally heartwarming and enjoyable in each, so you wouldn't want to miss out
Opposite attracts in this book! :) The horse mad Olive and the intellectual Eli are great characters. I love how sweet and loving they are once you get to know them. There are a lot of schemes and feuds in the background, The ending is so wonderful and ties things up nicely.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
I really enjoyed this! I thought I loved the previous two 12 Dukes of Christmas books but nope, this one's my favorite. Where Erica Ridley shines is creating characters that are interesting and unique and that grab you from the first page and make you root for them.
I love everything about this novel. I love how competent Olive is and how she knows her worth (as far as running a horse farm is concerned). I love how Eli dreads horses and wants nothing but to be left alone to study botany and discover cures for childbed fever. I love how they're drawn to one another despite being sworn enemies. I even love their fathers' feuding and manipulations.
All of it was grand and made for an extremely satisfying romance. Five enthusiastic stars from me!
