An enjoyable , easygoing and heartwarming read to lose yourself in for a few hours. Another beautiful setting , with descriptive writing bringing the seascape to life .
We've met Aiden before in previous books and this time around it's his turn to find his happily ever after., with chef Abby
This is definite escapism , but that makes it all the more enjoyable. The chemistry between Abby and Aiden was obvious from their first meeting. And the attraction grows as the story progresses.
Abby and her sisters inherit their mothers beachfront restaurant and have to decide whether to take a chance and reopen or sell . Aiden offers business advice and there are some misunderstandings along the way that have to be overcome.
If you've read Melissa Foster's other books, you'll find some old friends pop up in this book too :) I love the interconnections. Maybe We Will is sweet, with it's family drama, romance, work-a-holics, and more this just hits all the buttons for a good sit down get lost romance.
I loved the book. It was long...which I like. If I have a bad thing to say about this book it was a little too detailed in the sex scenes. I can wait to read more. Abby is a chef who quits her job to move home after her mom dies. She meets Aiden who is on the island for a vacation that was set up my his sister. Aiden helps Abby with opening her family’s old restaurant. Abby helps Aiden learn to relax and they both learn about true love.
Good book! This book had all the feels!! It was filled with plenty of heartache and heartbreak! But also some laughs in there too! I definitely recommend reading this book and series! It's well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
This one had plenty going for it, but ultimately, for me at least, it fell a bit flat. The romance between Abby and Aiden is very sweet, Aiden is almost perfect in so many ways. That's perhaps where I had a bit of a problem with the story, he's too good. I can cope with and have really enjoyed stories when one of the characters is too good to be true, but there was something else with this book that just stopped me from really enjoying it. I couldn't help but feel that the book was incredibly long-winded.
To begin with, I was enjoying the build-up of the relationship between Aiden and Abby, but we had multiple scenes which were really very similar to one another. I got nearly half of the way through and things were just dragging. When they mentioned how they'd only known each other for two weeks, I could hardly believe it, I'm sure that I'd been reading it for twice as long as that. The longer that it went on the less invested I got in their story. When we finally got to the make or break moment, that seemed really rushed in comparison. I'm sure that there are lots of people that will love this book, but it just wasn't for me.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Reading Ms. Foster is like comfort food, I enjoy them and read much too fast. Maybe we will is a lovely, heart warming read. Abby and Aiden are destined to meet, they have a common upbringing of loss and forced responsibility. Now is their time. We get to catch up with former characters, and meet new. Will the secrets discovered derail the romance?
Still in the Sisters in Bloom world, but we are a now on Silver Island.
Maybe we Will by Melissa Foster a five-star read you may fall in love with. This is a traditional romance and not everyone will enjoy it for that reason, but honestly you can’t go wrong with it. This is a great story about what happens when Fate brings the right people together at the right time. Aiden is just sublime, he works hard, but he has responsibilities and that’s why he is so hard working, Abby is similar in that she has responsibilities and she kinda needs an Aiden to lean against. Someone to help her learn that she doesn’t have to fight alone, and Aiden needs someone to show him how to have time to himself, to heal, to learn to grow. This is sweet and the setting is sublime, and you will wish away hours wishing you were there with them.
This is a sweet and romantic story that follows Aiden, who is a prior character from Melissa Foster’s Harmony Pointe series and Abby, a new character who is moving back to Silver Island, the setting for another of her series. Throw in some of the characters from her Wicked series and this one was a beautiful integration of some fantastic characters across Melissa Foster’s wonderful series. I received an early copy from NetGalley and I loved how romantic this story was. Aiden was a dream- always postured as a workaholic, we saw a different side of him as he worked to overcome Abby’s walls. Abby is a sweet and fun character and I loved her joyful personality. Aiden’s interaction with his sister Remi was funny and In fact, the familial interactions throughout were all so great to read. I will be buying the audiobook for this book (as I have done for many of the prior books in this series) because I will want to relive this book again.
While this is a solid romance, nothing about it really engaged me as a reader. I loved the plot and the set up, but the characters fell flat. They had their moments, and I loved learning about the world, however, the execution and the dialogue between Abby and Aiden was not natural. Their conversations felt forced. Like the point was to explain things to the reader...but I can’t ever imagine people speaking and revealing things to each other they way they did.
All that said, it was a solid romance and I can see how this style would work for certain readers. I’m just not one of them.
Thank you to netgalley for the advanced copy.
Another great book by this author. Her books are great. Love the story. Like the romance too. Thank you
I loved Abbey and Aiden's story. What a great pair. Also Remi Aiden's sister for creating the list that gave them such joy and comfort. Family was the underlying theme and you can never go wrong with that.
A lovely contemporary romance from Melissa Foster. This was an easy read romance between two people who make slow progress to bettering their lives for themselves. I enjoyed the romance of the book and camaraderie between all the characters. It felt like a big family coming together after not-so-great histories. I really enjoyed the charming setting and how the two came to be there. And I enjoyed their back and forth chemistry. This was a nice read to start on Valentine's Day. A light and happy romance.
This is a story that will capture you from the start. An Instant connection that leads to a love for the ages.
Aiden and Abby are some of the most genuine and engaging characters I have read in a very long time.
I love how Aiden is truly a caregiver. He loves and cares deeply for those that matter to him. His sense of responsibility I think was ingrained in him from early on in his life. Even with the loss of his parents and caring for his younger sister is just continued and became who he is. Aiden is a wealthy guy who is into finance and investments, and a real-life workaholic.
Abby is such a wonderful character, who hasn't had an easy time in life. Abby is a fighter. Her Dreams matter to her. She wants to be her own person. Because of the hardships in her upbringing, it has caused her to rely only on herself. While she wears her heart on her sleeve she does not trust easily. Abby is someone you get one chance with.
Abby goes back to Silver Island after her mom has passed away.
Aiden is in Silver Island on a holiday because his sister insisted, he should take some time for himself and stop living for work.
They meet as a coincidence outside Abby's father's restaurant, and from then on, all the missing pieces start making sense, as if all this were meant to be from the start.
This book is the story of two people who likely would never have met if it happened by chance. Their journey is so natural and easy. Things for them just click. It is as if their souls brough them together.
Maybe We Will is a true love story for the ages. If ever there were two souls that were meant to be it is Abby and Aiden. This story had my breath catching and my heart just full of love.
I finished reading Maybe We Will on Valentine's Day and if books were candy, this would have been a delectable delight for my sweet tooth. The fun and flirty characters balance out the heavier themes of past hurts. From the start, I liked the sparks between Abby and Aiden in a setting so real I could smell the salt water and feel the northern chill. Foster writes a super sweet romance yet doesn't let that get in the way of some serious steam. Abby is positive and endearing while Aiden is charming with a slight case of alpha billionaire. Their vacation romance is fast and interrupted too soon when Aiden's has to reconsider priorities. There were plenty of other characters for future Silver Harbor stories. If Cait and Brant show up later in this series, I’d be interested in knowing their story!
I enjoyed this story but found it slow going at times. For a relatively simple plot line there is a lot of explanation. Abby and her sisters are on Silver Island settling their mother's estate. What they discover brings them closer together and helps heal events in the past. Abby also meets Aiden, a workaholic sent on vacation by his worried sister. Aiden doesn't really know the meaning of relax because he's been taking care of his sister since their parents died. Abby and Aiden become inseparable quickly and after they overcome some issues they find the true meaning of love and family.
Her father must have been much older.
What is bearberry?
Hahaha!
I think they would know if their mom had tattoos.
Aw, poor Cait. I love you, Abby.
Deidra runs hot and cold.
Remi is really lucky in many ways.
He would be the angel investor.
I'd go to this restaurant.
Good excuse to be late.
Just say thank you and shut up.
Cait is the only one who isn't crazy.
I liked Abby. I couldn't get interested in the descriptions. I didn't care for the name Deidra. I enjoyed the pace and characters.
This is the first book in the new Silver Harbor series. Abby is back home on Silver Island and trying to get her family restaurant back in business after her mother's death. She and her sister also find out about the existence of a half sister. Aiden is on the island for a forced vacation by his sister, Remi, who we met earlier in another book. This was another great book by Melissa Foster. I loved all the references to people we had met earlier and how they fit in. Abby and Aiden have a great relationship. I highly recommend this one!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this story of a mature couple who have always put others before themselves, both have lost parents and Abby has trust issues, whilst Aiden is a workaholic. She wants to resurrect her fathers cafe and he helps her, overstepping in places. Her trust in him is broken when she finds out he originally wanted the cafe for himself her, but reflecting on how he has helped her and their relationship in general,, brings about a happy ending. Abby also finds out she has a half sister she didn’t know about and it is lovely to see that relationship develop and how the island inhabitants all work together even when competing against each other. I am sure that sisters Deidra and Cait will be having their own stories soon.
4.5 stars
I love a good contemporary romance story and Maybe we will market all the boxes in my cards.
From the beautiful setting to the first sparks of falling in love, their banter and chemistry were just perfectly balanced with the angsty past of each one of them.
Trying to protect their hearts, each had flaws and falls in being able to fully open up but, let’s be honest, who hasn’t hesitated when a relationship is at the beginning and there’s so much to learn about the other person.
A charming and entertaining love story that will take you on a ride to chase the happily ever after.
