I really liked the idea of the plot of this book, it sounded really current and had not been done before.
The writing was good, a certain level of intensity was built, the really strange character watching was both creepy and threatening. The different perspectives was a good idea as it allowed you to get a feel for each character and added to the horror with the strange thought processes.
However I feel it a fell a little short, it did not really ever get going. I felt I was reading a description rather than feeling the events or seeing them.
On times I felt like deciding not to finish reading as it didn't pull me in.

I really enjoyed reading this book about a murder during lockdown whilst in lockdown itself! Two completely different women - thrown together by chance. One with a secret and the other a not so secret alcoholic. Who end up working together to solve the mystery. Refreshingly different and unpittdownable.

Stay home is the first book I have come across that is set in the current pandemic. It is fascinating to read an innovative psychological thriller that is based in extraordinary times with the added stress and extreme impact that lockdowns have had on family relationships. The plot explores characters who are isolated before lockdown but circumstances mean they come out the other side with a much more fulfilled life than before. Also the impact on teenagers and couples relationships. The murder plot and ultimate reveal are a little off the deep end but I can say that I was guessing to the end, which is rare from a book such as Stay Home. Definitely worth a read.

Reading a book that is taking place during this pandemic has been such a cool experience that I have been waiting for and I can't wait to read more books with this setting. This book is pretty perfect. I felt that the climax to the end was a tad bit rushed, but I prefer that than to have it drag out way longer than needed. I did not really expect this ending. It wasn't too much of a crazy twist, but still a great ending.

A good read following Caitlin who has been having an affair and then the UK enters our now well known lockdowns!!

We also meet Ali who is an alcoholic and she notices Caitlin on her journeys to her lovers home.

Caitlin finds her lover dead, in a gruesome murder. The book follows the characters throughout the first lockdown of March 2020 and I will not give too much away. I did find this book took me a while to get into the story but once I did I was hooked. A good read with good story telling.

Thanks for an advance copy of this book.

Caitlin finds herself struggling during lockdown. Between being stuck at home with her husband and her twins, and making time to sneak out to see her lover who also lives nearby, things are certainly beginning to take their toll.
Ali seems to spend much of her time drinking and watching what goes on through her window. And she see's all that is happening with Caitlin.

This is a truly unique read, and is my first thriller themed around the lockdown we are living through. The characters in this book are realistic, the storyline is well detailed, and the story itself flows brilliantly and keeps you engrossed throughout..

Caitlin is struggling during lockdown with her husband and twins and having to sneak out to see her lover who lives nearby. Ali struggles with drinking and spends too much time watching out of the window. She watches Caitlin and their stories intertwine.

This was my first lockdown read - I love the idea and it's great premise and characters are well drawn but for me there was too much monologue and I wanted to skim read to get to the action. Despite that i liked the writing style and the plot and would read this author again.

Set during the Covid-19 lockdown. Caitlin has been finding it difficult to sneak away from her family to see her lover Daniel. When she finally manages she is horrified to find him dead in a pool of his own blood. She can't report the crime without it their affair coming out and her family being torn apart. With the help of Ali, a barely functioning alcoholic who lives opposite Daniel, Caitlin embarks on her own investigation to find out what happened to her lover.

This book has quite an unusual writing style, some I am sure won't like it but it worked for me. It's very much "narrated" mostly by the main two characters. It's not usually a style I go for but here I think it added to the feeling of lockdown isolation that the characters were experiencing. The book manages to include enough excitement in the story despite the lockdown setting and I did find myself reading it into the night wanting to know what would happen. I liked the plot, I liked the fact it was set in lockdown, I liked the characters and really enjoyed reading it. I would certainly have a read of anything else by this author based on this book. Thank you Netgalley and Hodder & Stoughton for allowing me to preview this book.

4-5 stars! I think that this was a well written book and completely unique in its use of the pandemic! I do think something was missing, as I didn’t find it to be a complete 5 mind blowing star read, but overall it was riveting and fun! It had some great character development, which really made me want to know what happens! Definitely provided the much needed thrills, chills, twisty turns, and shocks! Not sure if I loved or hated seeing characters in a pandemic, but give credit for it being utilized! Recommend to my fellow thrill seekers!

This is one of the few books I have read that takes place during the pandemic and calls it out as such. I only hope it ages well so that future readers know what the world situation was during that time. The story centers on Caitlin, who finds the man she was having an affair with dead, and Ali, who watches her neighbors from her window and sees all of this go down. Caitlin and Ali forge an unlikely friendship, based on Caitlin not wanting to get blamed for a murder and Ali just looking for something to do.

I thought the story moved at a pretty fast clip, despite the fact that there is a lot more internal dialogue than there is actual action. I liked Ali better than Caitlin, as I never could figure out why Caitlin was cheating or what she saw in Daniel; it appears she just wanted to take a walk on the wild side. I do wish we would have gotten more information on Daniel- he was an extremely 2-dimensional character.

The end of the book is somewhat predictable but there were still a couple things that surprised me. The ending tied up the book almost too neatly, but I generally appreciate that. This is a quick read and I'd give it 3.5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Caitlin has been having an affair with Daniel for almost a year. When the country goes into lockdown, spending time together without her husband finding out is almost impossible. But she manages to sneak out ....

When arriving at his home, she finds Daniel lying on the floor, blood surrounding him. He is obviously dead.

She can't report this .... or her husband will discover her secret. What she doesn't know is tht a neighbor, Ali, sees Caitlin running out of Daniel's house.

Afraid of being accused of Daniel's murder. she starts looking for a reason that someone wanted Daniel. What she finds is that maybe she didn't know him as well as she thought. And how long can she keep her secret? Especially when her neighbor jumps to conclusions?

There are so many layers in this novel ... love, angst, lies, secrets, affairs, addictions. It explores the dark parts of people's lives, while at the same time leading us on a breath-takingly twisty race to find a killer. It's well written with characters that stand out in swirl of twists and turns that lead to an unexpected, surprising conclusion.

Many thanks to the author / Hodder & Stoughton / Netgalley for the digital copy of this psychological thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

This book had so much potential. In a world where we are all currently in lockdown, the book felt real and scary. It was hard to believe that the book I was reading about being confined to the house was actually life at the moment. However, the book felt flat. After the first chapter, I was already guessing what was going to happen and I was right. The book did not grip me and I was quite bored reading it.

This is the first book that has the pendemic in it. It is quite interesting how the author uses it in her story.
The story is primarily about Caitlin and Ali.
Caitlin is from an upper class home. She's married and has fifteen year old twins, a bit and a girl. She also has a lover, Daniel.
All this is during the pandemic when we have been told to accept and acknowledge social distancing and stay home, be safe. Doesn't look likes that's happening here. A neighbor that lives across from Daniel, Avi, is a lush, stay at home, used to be teacher. Her life is reading, drinking and spying on the neighbors with her binoculars. She knows more that she lets on about her neighbors. Even though she doesn't let on. She even knows about Daniel's girlfriends. She may not know their names but she knows what they look like. Very much needed information since Daniel has turned up dead. She knows this because she snuck into his house and saw him lying there in a pool of blood. No one has missed him yet.
A great psychological thriller, interesting and hard to put down.
I was given this book to read and review by the publisher through Netgalley.

Two women become unlikely friends and amateur sleuths as they try to figure out what happened to their handsome neighbor Daniel. One of them is the drunk neighbor next door who has nothing better to do other than spy on him and the other is his lover although she is married. This book was okay and I found it to be a quick read, but I also found it to be unsuspenseful and it was easy to figure out who the killer was. It is your typical, pretty uneventful whodunit story. Thank you NetGalley and the 'pubisher for this free sample. This review is stricly my own and voluntary.

I really enjoyed this book. Very fitting title to what we have going on in the world in 2020 but overall I couldn't put this down. The characters are very interesting and gripping and would really like to read a lot more from this author!

The plot sounded so good and I was so excited to read this book but in the end it just had me putting it down and not finishing. I didn't like the characters much and the story just didn't hold my interest at all. Definitely not the suspense I was hoping for. DNF for me.

I received an Arc of "Stay Home" from Hodder and Stoughton and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and first off I want to say thank you for the opportunity to read this book. "Stay Home" was a page-turning thriller that kept me intrigued from start to finish as I completed the entire book in one sitting.

"Stay Home" takes place in the United Kingdom during the pandemic lockdown so most readers will be able to relate with the struggles of living through of a lockdown as we have all been part of this pandemic and it's lockdowns. The story focuses on some of the lockdown activities that we have all become accustomed to including working from home, homeschooling, social distancing, and staying home in our one household bubbles. However, in "Stay Home" main character Caitlin throws these rules to the wind as she uses her one hour outdoor exercise time to engage in an affair.

One morning when Caitlin arrives to find her lover Daniel laying dead in a pool of blood, her world is turned upside down. She then tries to figure out who murdered Daniel, while trying to keep her affair hidden and not implicate herself in his death.

Daniel's neighbor Ali across the street is an alcoholic who sits in her bay window watching everything that happens around her. She knows about Caitlin and when she suddenly notices Daniel is not out and about in his garden and Caitlin is acting strangely, Ali starts her own investigation and discovers that you truly never know what is happening behind locked doors.

Caitlin, Ali, and Daniel all harbor secrets and as you read on, the secrets begin to unravel. Will Caitlin find out who killed Daniel; or, will she be pinned for his murder?
