Mysterious moving island and talking animals, you got me Milo McGivern.
'Monsieur Le Chef' is a feel good book with 5 short stories revolving around the same characters. It essentially falls in the middle grade category but believe me, adults will enjoy this alike, if not more. The book made me chuckle throughout.
This story is set in a mysterious, position shifting island and the best part is that the author mentions the coordinates each time there is a shift and one can locate it on google map. This is sequel to 'The Island of Animaux'. One can directly get into this book without reading the first one. Overall the book is a potboiler with equal ounces of humour, darkness and happiness.

The premise of the book is great and the author really delivers. Great read. Highly recommended. .

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Monsieur Le Chef is a funny children's book with 3 stories in 1 book. This is the first book by Milo McGivern that I have read and I am so glad that I requested it as it has given me a good giggle. The illustrations spotted through the book are funny too and very much in the stylebof Quentin Blakes style of illustrations.
If you want a fun, silly and lighthearted read, this is definitely a book for you to enjoy.

I really like how the island of Animaux moves and you can search in Google Maps actual latitude and longitude coordinates to see what Island they're talking about. I like how the chapters are simply written and easy to read at a quick pace without really thinking about it. I find that is easier to follow the story in my head.
