The book talks about how sex is a taboo subject in America and the negative affects of this. Sex is good for both your physical and emotional health and yet we rarely discuss it with our doctors or even our partners. Lack of sex is one of the main complaints in marriages especially as people age. The doctor notes that he's in the habit of asking patients about their sex lives but tells us that doctors aren't trained to do this and often don't have the time to ask such questions. Many doctors focus on addressing symptoms instead of understanding the full health situation of a patient, which includes their sexual activity or lack thereof. He makes a case for rewarding doctors for helping keep patients healthy and not just seeing as many patients per day as possible in order to earn a living and pay off student debt.

It's a good guide to the basics of sex understanding things like your libido and what affects it and how men and women mentally and physically react differently.. It also addresses at a high level things like fertility, STDs, and other basic concepts.

Overall, a good basic book that has an admirable goal of getting us to talk about sex and help us living healthier and happier lives.
Note: I've downloaded a bunch of free, (mostly) random, pre-releases of books with the idea of expanding my range and helping authors get reviews. #netgalley
