This is a short but focused book about starting a business with the objective of doing social good. It starts with theory and ends with specific recommendations. There are parts of the book that may not be applicable to every business person (for instance, if you're a sole proprietorship, you probably won't benefit from the sections on hiring or employee benefits). Still, it's good information in the areas about which the author has personal expertise.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received.

I could not finish this book. I stopped reading 20% into the book. I felt like I was reading a paper written for an English class. The writing distracted me so much that I struggled to pay attention to the content. Nonetheless, the book's academic-like structure allowed me to skim the book for the key takeaways while avoiding all of the personal anecdotes. If you can get past the writing style, then this book is a short read that will show you one person's path to becoming a purpose-driven social entrepreneur.
