Ah the ultimate easter egg and a disguise for Ready Player Two! There are similarities to the first book, jumping into a new quest for Wade and his friends but I was more than happy to see how this played out. The tech has been upgraded and with it the scope for computers and AI to mess with the world at large. Without giving any spoilers, when the reveal came about the mission we were in for, I actually gasped. Stuffed once more with pop culture references it's a delight for a pop culture nerd like me, especially the deep dive into the filmic world of John Hughes. Proper fun, with a dark undercurrent about reliance on tech in 21st century life.
