Miles Cookson, a tech billionaire has just discovered he has a debilitating and terminal illness, one he could pass onto his children. As far as the rest of the world is concerned he has no children but he knows a visit to a clinic over twenty years ago means he may have quite a few offspring out there. So now he decides to look for them, to warn them and hopefully help them with his vast fortune, whether or not they have the illness or not. But as he finds and connects with the first, Chloe, it becomes apparent someone else is looking for his children...and their intentions are far more sinister.

I first read Linwood Barclay around 2008. My librarian friend excitedly foisted No Time For Goodbye on me, telling me I would love it. And boy was she right. And for the next few years I devoured his books. And then I don't know what happened, I stopped reading his books. When I saw this and loved the synopsis I tried to work out what happened. Was there a book I didn't like? I don't think so. Did I change the type of books I read....a little maybe but even though I love a British police procedural I read other genres. I can only assume I just forgot his books. And now I'm full of regret, how the hell did I forget these brilliant stories? This novel is filled with twists, action, double crossing and everything you could desire in a great thriller. There's loads of great characters, plus it's fast paced with great dialogue. A great read which reminded me what a great storyteller Linwood Barclay is.

Miles is a millionaire who years before as a struggling student donated his sperm to a fertility clinic.
20 years later he discovers he has a terminal illness which he could have passed on
As Miles has no family other than his brother he decides that he will try and find out if he has any children as a result from the donation and leave them his vast fortune to make their lives better and easier if they have inherited the disease , Once Miles has the list he starts to track them down but then they start to disappear without a trace
This started off well and I was hooked but then it started to loose the plot and reality I finished the book but to me it was a farcical ending and it spoilt the book for me

Tech billionaire Miles has more money than he can ever spend, but he can’t buy more time. Diagnosed with a terminal illness, he is forced to take a long hard look at his past.

Somewhere out there, Miles has children who don’t know it, but they might be about to inherit the good and bad from him – possibly his fortune, or possibly something more sinister.

So, Miles decides to track them down. But a lethal killer is one step ahead of him. One by one, people are vanishing. Not just disappearing, every trace of them is wiped.

I’ve read a couple of Linwood Barclay books previously, but many years ago, so was looking forward to reading his latest title. It did not disappoint! Like the previous books I’d read, Find You First was engaging from the start and a fast paced page-turner.

The main character Miles Cookson, made a good team with his long lost daughter Chloe and I quickly got sucked into the storyline. A great crime thriller and would highly recommend it.
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for an advance copy in return for my honest opinion. I have also shared this review on Goodreads.

Find You First is the first Linwood Barclay I've read in a long time and I'd forgotten how good a writer he was. I was gripped from the start and remained gripped throughout. Tense, compelling and dark, Barclay exposes both the worst and the best of humanity. This is one of those books I dare you to put down, because I know I couldn't

Wow what a page turner. Lynwood Barclay is back with an amazing suspense novel. I loved all of his earlier work but not so much the last couple. He is back with bang with this one. Had me gripped from the first page. Loved it!

As usual Linwood Barclay doesn’t fail to deliver. His characters are always well drawn and the plot is delicious. I raced through the book reading through the wee, wee hours.

Am I the only person to hate this...?

I absolutely love Linwood Barclay. He's an excellent thriller writer and never disappoints. Apart from this one.

I don't mind a storyline that is out there and unrealistic. But this one was absolutely next level ridiculous. For me, there was no twists and turns, just confusion and disbelief.

I wasn't gripped by the storyline and it took me weeks to finish (very, very rare for me). Honestly if I'd read this blind and you'd told me that it was Linwood Barclay, I would have laughed in your face.

Goodness me did he miss the mark on this one.

This was the best ride I had with a book, this is story of Mills Tech billionaire that starts to reflect on his life after diagnosed with terminal illness and wants to leave money for his children but he starts something that so dangerous and the children start to die one by one.

Every time you believe that you know what happening, you get the shock of your life. I couldn’t stop as everything happens so fast and you don’t have time to even stop reading.
I read the writers other books and I loved them ,but this was one of the best. He can write human emotions and ideas ( you actually believe you can hear them ).
This was wonderful book .

There was enough intrigue , mystery a lot of action. Mills was perfect character caring and you empathies with him, other character were outrages but believable. There is a lot of twists and I thought couple of times that I know who is doing these stuff but I was wrong. You would not understand until the end .

Miles Cookson has everything money can buy.
But he can’t buy his health . He has been told by his doctor he is dying.
20 years ago Miles was a sperm donor and he feels it only right to get in contact with the children he fathered to tell them he is dying and they could also have the disease as it’s genetic .
An aspiring film documentarian Chloe Swanson is trying to find her father who is Miles.
But what should be a happy time is overshadowed by the heirs to his fortune vanishing.
Lots of twists and turns
Thanks NetGalley.

This is Linwood Barclay at his absolute best!

A fast, pacy story that leaves you breathless.

I've read many of Linwood Barclay's books, I think this one is the best so far.

I was hooked from chapter 1.

A pacey race against time thriller. Tech tycoon Miles Cookson discovers he is dying. He never married and has no children, so sets out to trace those he fathered as a young sperm donor, to share his inheritance. But someone else is ahead of him and erasing all traces of them. A cunning plot and interesting characters make this a great page-turner.
