I've read several other of Ms. Brogan's book and have loved them. They are fun and cute and sweet. My Kind of Perfect was no different.
Thank you to Netgalleya nd the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book!
Lily returns home a little worse for wear after a short-lived pre- midlife crisis and is now trying to figure out what's next. She meets sweet, thoughtful Matt who's got his own baggage that he hauled along with him to Trillium Bay .Then she also has an unusual interaction with larger than life Jayden and now she has a dilemma.Recurrent encounters between her and these two men has Lily faltering in making a decision as to who she wants to have in her life long-term.The community involvement in everyone's lives and the camaraderie between them makes for an entertaining ,heart-warming read. Stealing the show was the grandmother and the grand-daughter,both of whom I could not get enough of.The descriptive imagery provided of the town and its inhabitants makes it very easy to visualize the enclave and the events that take place there. This was a slow, steady read with bits of irreverent humor interspersed throughout and the ending was satisfying.Go ahead and grab this one you won't be disappointed.
I can always count on a Tracy Brogan book to be entertaining and charming! I have to admit I enjoyed the first 2 in the series more but I was happy to hear about Lilly and what happens with her! Brogan did a good job of reminding what happened in the prior 2 books which I appreciated because it had been awhile but may possibly be a little repetitive if choosing to read back to back. This book was cute and I will continue to read Brogan's books but as it wasn't super memorable I would find it in the 3-3.5 star range.
My Kind of Perfect is an interesting read! The heroine has three love interests: a May-December one with wealth to leisurely travel; a movie star with whom she gets to enjoy as an extra on set and off; and a hunk who traded modeling ads for a hammer and has made her island home his home. The quirky support she gets from family and friends adds depth to the small town setting where secrets cannot be hide or long. A great story about choices as the heroine explores what type of lifestyle she really wants. Great plot for discussions!
My Kind of Perfect by Tracy Brogan is the third in the Trillium Bay series by the author. In this novel, Lilly Callahan returns home after ending her relationship with a much older man. While trying to find her place in the life she had left behind, she agrees to help out her sister with her business. She winds up meeting Matt, a lovely man who loves the community and shares many of her goals and dreams. But when a movie comes to shoot in town, she also meets the exciting Hollywood star, Jayden Pierce, who embodies excitement and fun. After just getting out of a relationship, is Lilly ready for a new one? Should she choose one of these men?
An enjoyable, comfortable story, which would make a great, easy beach read. Thank you to the author, Montlake and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
My Kind of Perfect is charming, funny, and well written just like all of Tracy Brogan’s novels. Readers are provided with the opportunity to return to Trillium Bay. This time it’s Lilly’s turn to find true love. Lilly begins a romance with Matt shortly after returning to Trillium Bay, but actor Jayden may get in the way. Matt’s history makes it hard for him to trust, so Lilly will have her work cut out for her!
Fortunately, Lilly realizes that Matt is the man for her and works hard to make Matt realize that she can be trusted. I’m looking forward to Ms. Brogan’s next book!
This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Lilly Callaghan returns back Trillium Bay after her romance with Tag, who is much older than her, ends due to their age difference. Lilly ends up bing a movie extra, helping her sister with flipping houses and helping her sister with her wedding. Lilly ends up being caught between two men. Matthew - who lives on the island. Jayden - the movie star, who has taken a liking to Lilly. I enjoyed this book and catching up with everyone that lives on Wenniway Island. It is very believable with the Jayden storyline. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the E-ARC. This is my own opinion.
Why haven't I read Tracy Brogan books before? Nee to remedy this right away.
This book was wonderful. All quirky characters in funny situations. I loved them and the writing.
This book was my kind of perfect.
Thanks to Netgalley, Tracy Brogan, and Montlake for the ARC.
If you have not picked up a book from this series, DO IT NOW!! Tracy Brogan is Ahhhhh-mazing at weaving tales that are so enchanting and so encompassing, that you feel like you actually know the people and know the places without that contrived feeling.
I got swept up in this book and in this story (Lilly is my favorite sister) - I didn't want it to end.
Thank you Netgalley, for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are mine, and mine alone.

How did I miss this series and come in on the third book!!
I loved the Bell Harbour series and feel I am equally going to love this series as much. Tracy Brogan has the ability to give you all those 'feels' over and over. Will absolutely be heading over to Amazon and buying the first two books in this series
This was the first book I have read by the author, and I really enjoyed how fun, breezy, and enjoyable her writing style is. Apparently this is the third book in the series, but I do not think you have to read the others to enjoy this one; however, I sort of wish I had so I could have more background into Tag (so juicy). This was the perfect book to read in the middle of winter while pretending to be on a beach having a cocktail. I finished this book in one sitting, and I know others will, too. If you're looking for a fun beach read, this is a great pick. Oh, and I absolutely adore Gigi!
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the ARC.
If you want a light, vacation inspired read with movie stars and minimal conflict, than you may feel differently but this book was not for me. The most difficult thing in Lilly's life is that too many men love her - her much older ex-boyfriend, a movie star, and a former model turned yoga loving town hottie. After moving home to her island in Michigan town, Lilly navigates finding herself and a job, while being a highly sought after extra on the set of the movie that has set up camp for the summer. The most drama Lilly encounters is (for lack of better phrase) slut-shaming gossip in town because how *dare* she go on dates (and only dates may I add) with DIFFERENT men. I could forgive this if Lilly stood up to the gossip in any way but instead, she acts in ways as to not instigate additional talk. Conflict is resolved within a matter of pages and our heroine really goes through no real trials or self discovery. She just has a wealth of avenues in careers and love, and chooses the best option
My Kind of Perfect is a perfect addition to Trillum Bay series! I loved going on Lilly’s journey to find happiness.
Tracey Brogan knows how to deliver a book that has humor and a lot of heart. I can’t wait to see what adventure she will take us readers on next!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
As a small town Michigan girl,
I appreciated the trilogy set in a fictional version of reality. The story was an easy quick read as it explores Lilly’s return to the island and a love triangle. Beloved characters from the previous two books make their reappearance. I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher and this is my honest review.
This is a sweet book and definitely expands beyond the romance to really highlight relationships as a whole, including familial relationships. I really liked the interaction between Lilly and her family, as she returns to find her place in this small town. Lilly returns after realizing that she won't be able to get what she wants out of her current relationship. She then meets two men- Matt, a local, and Jayden, a visiting actor. I thought it was obvious who she was going to end up with eventually but the journey there was fun, if a little drawn out. Also, although the relationship building was well done, I felt like it concluded a little too quickly and abruptly, given how long it took to get there. But overall, the likable characters, the great descriptiveness of the environment and supporting characters really make this a good read. Thanks to NetGalley for a fun read.
Though I haven’t read the previous books in the series, I feel this can be read as a stand alone.
With that said, I enjoyed getting to know Lily and found her to be a likeable character. Though at times she made me want to shake her, she kept the story going with her witty, quirky and humorous ways. Loved the romance aspect as Lily tries to figure out where her love life is going.
My Kind of Perfect is a well written, humorous and engaging book to read.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
My Kind of Perfect is the third book in Tracy Brogan’s Trillium Bay series and focuses on third Callaghan daughter, Lilly. Lilly has come to realize that she wants marriage and children, things her much older significant other is unwilling to provide...so she has come home to regroup and help her sister prepare for her wedding. There also is a movie crew in town that certainly has given folks new things to talk about! Lilly gets caught up in the excitement and one of the headliners, but is this to be her forever relationship or will an old friend slip into her line of vision? Ms. Brogan’s books always are well written and descriptive. This reader didn’t find this offering as funny as some of her others (The Best Medicine immediately comes to mind) but it was an enjoyable and engaging read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
Lilly comes home to Trillium Bay when her romance goes south, and she needs to go home. While Lilly is welcomed home, she is swept into the town’s current chaos including her sister’s wedding and the movie being taped on the island. It doesn’t take long before Lilly is being pursued by the local yoga/handyman, Matt, and the famous actor, Jayden. While Lilly is trying to make up her mind, the secondary characters help make this book such an enjoyable read. I really enjoyed this book. This is the last book in a trilogy but could be read as a standalone.
Traversing Wenniway Island, Michigan with Lilly is like running around with the friend back home in your small town that you have had since high school. She’s slightly judgmental but not malicious about it and she’s really fun.
Exhibit A:
“I bit back a giggle at the thought of this drop-dead diva having to plant her fancy ass down on the basic toilet seat at this gas station, but my solidarity with all women came first.”
I felt that and honestly, I aspire to be Gigi, the martini-drinking grandmother, that sings painfully flat renditions of “The Sound of Music” tunes.
I’ll be adding the rest of the Trillium Bay novels to my bookshelf very soon!
