This is a gripping modern take on the posh dinner whodunnit with an unexpected resolution. A fresh and interesting mix of both snooty and gritty characters brings the family mystery to life, with clever use of different voices. Moral of the tale: be very careful who you invite to book club....

I was so excited when I got approved for this book! Thanks NG and Publisher!
This book was great! For sure a good one I've read so far in 2021!
The suspense is thrilling! And the characters will have you saying WTH?!
Writing was also very good! BP did an outstanding job on this one!

The Dinner Guest by B.P. Walter, published by One More Chapter / Harper Collins UK, is not the usual thriller. It's a story that gripped me with both hands, wrapped me in a snuggly blanket of suspense, lead me through twists and turns, and at the end it pulled the carpet of " I think I got eveything sorted out " from under my poor readerfeet. And I enjoyed every second of it. The Dinner Guest is one of the books that makes me read them, cover to cover in one sitting, breathless, unputdownable sitting on the edge of my seat. I mean, who needs sleep anyway.
I started reading and had an insta-connection to all the characters, and that doesn't happen very often, if at all. But the Dinner Guest managed to pull me into their story very easily.
The Dinner Guest is one of my favorite reads in 21, excellent written, with an outstanding storyline and plottwists that I never had expected.
I recommend this book.

A good read. Go for it.
Four people walked into the dining room that night. One would never leave.
Matthew: the perfect husband.
Titus: the perfect son.
Charlie: the perfect illusion.Rachel: the perfect stranger.Charlie didn’t want her at the book club. Matthew wouldn’t listen. And that’s how Charlie finds himself slumped beside his husband’s body, their son sitting silently at the dinner table, while Rachel calls 999, the bloody knife still gripped in her hand.
Thanks to NetGalley and One More Chapter for giving me an advanced copy.

I received an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review
The first 70% was a very solid thriller, but then it just went off the rails with one “what the f@$& did I just read” after another. This is not to say that it’s a bad book. It just wasn’t rational.
It just wasn’t rational.

This incredible thriller kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. The characters draw you in and the plot is fast paced. Readers will definitely enjoy this pick.

This thriller starts with a murder and an arrest on the first page. Then comes the twisty, unpredictable, flashbacks and flash forwards explaining or not what lead to the events on the first page. If you like the trope of rich people behaving badly then you’ll like this book.
