Picking up a Heidi Swain book you know you are going to be in for a treat, the new characters to Wynbridge fit in brilliantly. Fliss who discovers she has family she never knew about in a letter from her mother makes the decision to travel from Italy to England to find herself and them. Beautifully written with Just the right amount of sentiment the right amount of drama all coming together in a very enjoyable book. It's always good to come back to Wynbridge and this series could really improve go on and on.

I absolutely loved meeting fliss and her grandad and Eliot and how she comes to fenview fruit farm after only finding out about her family when her mum dies. She decides to visit her grandad as her mum instructed in her letter and wow what a lovely take of a family coming together she really helps her grandad get the farm sorted and her mum was right that it's the perfect fit for her. I really can not wait for my next trip here.

I’ve read a few Heidi Swain books and have enjoyed them all, however not so sure about this one. A Taste Of Home is about Fliss Brown, who has been brought up in Italy by her mother and her Italian family. However her mum dies and she finds out that she has a family she never knew about in England. Her family in England own a fruit farm, which sadly needs a bit of new life breathed into it. Along the way of bringing the farm back to life Fliss learns a lot. You read some books and they immediately give you a feeling and sometimes that feeling is more of a slower burner but eventually it’s there, however sadly with this book it just didn’t hit the spot and the best word to describe it is nice because by no means was it an awful book that i couldn’t finish. It just felt like a bit of a flat read. At first I thought that perhaps it was just a slow burner, waiting for the grip that pulls you in but sadly that never came. Unfortunately it was in the last 10% of the book that it started to get a little interesting when the story and all its threads came together, which redeemed it slightly and I felt that perhaps there’s more books to come involving these characters. If I was recommending Heidi Swain I wouldn’t recommend this book as a starter as I feel she’s written better books. This would perhaps be a good holiday read but for me it lacked any depth, it was a slow burner that never got started and when it seemed like there was potential it was to late as the book was ending, in parts it was predictable and actually the ending without spoiling anything was predictable. Not only do I think there was potential in the story itself but I think that’s true of the character Fliss, who is strong minded and brave, in the sense that she finds out about this family she never knew existed and after her mother’s death leaves everything she knew and trusted and just turns up on her grandfathers door without warning. At points I did feel that Fliss’s integration into her new life is a bit to easy, kind of happening without question or many struggles, at times feeling like she kind of bulldozed into her grandfathers life, making alit of changes, which any normal person would find hard to cope with but again it seems to all happen all to easy. A good book but not my favourite.

So amazing to be back in Wynbridge. Heidi's books are always so easy and pleasing to read and I can't wait for the next one. A story of friendship, love, family and finding your roots whilst uncovering the odd snake in the grass!

I’ve posted a lot about Heidis books since creating this page so I was super excited to see the email in my inbox to say I had been approved to read this before publication.

I put down the book I was reading and instantly started reading this! I was hooked within the first few pages, as per!

We get whisked back to Wynbridge to meet new arrival Fliss. Fliss finds out about her Grandad and their family fruit farm through her Mums letters after she passed away. This is all new to Fliss but she leaves the Rossi’s in Italy and takes the plunge into a new life.

When Fliss turns up in Wynbridge she’s swept up into a whirlwind of emotions and new adventures but that’s not to much for Fliss, she rolls up her sleeves and gets stuck into farming life with her Grandad and new friends.

We meet Bill, Bec, Louise and of course charming Elliot who are all new characters. As always in Heidis books there are familiar faces from The Cherry Tree Cafe and Skylark Farm. This is one of my favourite things about Heidis writing, we get to read about the adventures of characters from other books!

This book is a perfect Spring/Summer read and I can’t wait to see it on the shelves from 29th April! (don’t worry not long to wait!)💜

This book made me crave summer and without saying to much, I can’t wait to go strawberry picking in the summer 🍓☀️

I can’t wait for you all to read this and thank you @ for making this available to read early 💜

Love Heidi Swain books. Fliss didn't know anything about her English relations until her mother died and left her a letter. Fliss decided to go to England only to discover that her grandfather is ill after a hip replacement and didn't know anything about her,.

A beautiful sunny story which is about Fliss, who finds out in adult life that she has a family that she didn’t know about, and how the relationship develops. A perfect form of escapism and brightness as the story develops. Another brilliant book from Heidi!

This is a feel-good romantic family drama about a woman from a fruit farming family. It is well written but the plot is a bit predictable. A relaxing read.

Heidi swain you have done it again!
Oh how I wish wynthorpe was real because just like every character that lands up there its won my heart over. Yet another fantastic story by Heidi that had me not putting the book down from the moment I opened it. A love story with twists and turns and left me wishing for the success of fenview farm. A 5* star rating never seems enough ♥️

Heidi Swain has done it again. Another book from the the lovely village of Wynbridge.
Fiiss moves back to England from Italy's where she grew up to find her grandfather which she never knew she had. Upon finding her grandfather she also met up with Elliot his mother and sister. She also made friends with the residents of Wynbridge. Her grandfather has a fruit farm and when she arrives she realises that it could do with a bit of help to start making it profitable. She has a family in Italy that also have a farm where she use to live so was not ignorant to how a farm works,
I could go deeper into the story but if I did I would ruin the story for you.
This book is as enjoyable as the rest of Heidi's books it makes you want to keep reading as at the same time you don't want it to end.
You get to meet the characters you already know and to meet new ones.
This book is my No1 for 2021.

I received a copy of this from the publisher Simon & Schuster, and Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This is the first of Heidi’s books I’ve read, even though I have so many friends who love them, and wow do I agree! I loved this book and was pulled in quite quickly with the descriptions of lovely Puglia, then Fenviw Farm.

Fliss, or Felicity, is left a letter by her mum when she passes away, telling her about her childhood home back in the UK, and the farm she grew up on. Fliss’ mum never talked about her home life, after leaving and going to Italy at a young age when she fell pregnant. She heads back to the UK, and meets her Grandfather who runs a fruit farm. I loved this farm. Heidi draws you in to the surroundings and makes you feel like you’re there, in the warmth picking strawberries, siting under the apppe trees with a slice of cake and cup of tea.

Fliss is a very likeable character, as is her Grandfather Bill. There are other characters in the story whom I wasn’t fussed on, and a big twist which I thought I had seen coming, but turns out I was wrong!

I’m definitely recommending this one, and I guarantee I will read more of Heidi’s books.

As always with Heidi's books, this was like a big hug. Perfect reading for the present time with a gentle storyline and a sense of community spirit which may have become a bit lost these days. Another book centred on Wynbridge so a chance to catch up with much loved previous characters and to meet new ones

Yet another brilliant book by Heidi Swain.

After Felicity/Fliss loses her mother she thinks she has no surviving blood relatives. But a letter she is given after her mother's funeral changes her life. As she travels from Italy to the English Fens she has no idea what the future will bring.

This book features characters from Heidi's previous Wynbridge novels, but can equally be enjoyed as a standalone 5 star book.

A wonderful, heart warming read. The sense of family and friendship really comes through and I loved how Fliss was brave enough to take that step to visit a grandfather she didn’t even know she had. Eliot is a great character, his love and friendship for Bill is obvious from the out set. The descriptions of him in his motorbike leathers are certainly mouth watering!
All the ideas Fliss has for the farm and the barn are amazing and I loved seeing it all come together. The connection with the Rossi’s in Italy was nice and I felt that maybe Fliss was forgetting them a bit too easily, but then I realised that she’d only been away from them for a few weeks, she’d just accomplished so much. However seeing the families blend together was a moving moment and seeing Bec and Marco’s mutual attraction mean the families will always been intertwined.

A beautiful, easy flowing read that the couldn’t put down.

Fliss's Mum dies from cancer & she leaves her daughter a letter about her family in Wyndridge. A family Fliss didn't know existed as she was brought up in Puglia in Italy, living with the Rossi family. Fliss takes the journey to Wyndbridge & meets her grand father at Fenview Farm. An emotional begining with a great conclusion. Loved the characters in this book, Fliss, Eliot & Bill. Always lovely books from Wyndbridge & this will not disapoint. Enjoy reading about fruit farming, secret supper clubs & new friends.

So good to be back in Wynbridge for the Summer and A Taste of Home. In my opinion this is Heidi's best book, I have loved and enjoyed all her books, but this is definitely my favourite.
The story had me captivated from start to finish as Heidi skilfully wove familiar Wynbridge characters seamlessly together with new ones, which will become much loved favourites in any future tales of Wynbridge
It was a delight to read how the special bond between Fliss and her Grandfather Bill blossomed along with the fruit orchards at Fenview Farm after a poignant introduction.
I do so hope that Heidi will be taking us back to Wynbridge again before too long, as I look forward to catching up with this delightful place and its people once more.

A wonderful story about love and family members finding each other. The descriptive language is so perfect, I could practically taste freshly picked strawberries as I read. This book is the perfect read to take you out of lockdown and into spring, and I defy you not to want to devour it in one sitting. Heidi Swain has a gift for the written word and I just can’t wait until the next book, wondering if we will revisit former characters, or meet new ones..

Floss is devastated by her Mother’s precipitous death. She has left her a legacy though, in the form of a letter, telling her about her own Norfolk fruit farm roots. Her last wish was for Fliss to leave the Puglian farm that she calls home, to go and visit her Grandparents on their farm.

Fliss’s Grandmother had unfortunately passed away, but her Grandfather acceptance her with open arms. Fliss is full of ideas to get the farm trading and making money again. Romantic interest abound, in the firm of the mysterious Anthony and with Eliot, her Grandfather’s carer.

There is however something not quite right about Anthony though, and he has nothing good to say about Eliot and his family. The outcome though – you will have to read for yourself to find out.

An easy to read book which I read in a day. Florence lives in Italy, where her mother made her home, having run away from her father in England,30 years earlier. After her mother's death, Florence goes to stay with her grandfather on his fruit farm and soon settled down to a new life. This would be a perfect beach read.
