Thank you so much to the publisher, the author, and netgalley for sending me an e-ARC to read. I gave this book three stars.

I love a romance and this was perfection! This author has quickly become a favourite of mine! A great well written book with great chemistry

Make Up Break Up
by Sandhya Menon
A well written story . About two rivals next door doing the same thing just in a slightly different approach. An enemies to friends genre. A reasonably fun sweet story with a steamy bit thrown in . An easy fun read 3.5/5

I loved Sandhya Menon's YA books so I thought I was going to love this as much as I loved those books but something about this book I could not connect with. Even though this book is quite short, it felt like I was reading it for so long because of how much it dragged and how bored I was throughout. I could not connect with the relationship. I am glad I read it though and will definitely keep reading Sandhya Menon's books as I loved so many of her previous books.

I loved this enemies to lovers story with a twist and couldn't put the book down! The characters were well rounded and the story was believable and easy to see happening in todays world.
It was steamy with real passion going on between the characters, something I haven't felt a lot of recent rom coms have had!

I found this to be a quick read and quite enjoyable. I liked the concept of two neighbours pitted against each other whilst trying to ignore the chemistry they obviously had for each other. This book did lack a certain level of punch for me and I had hoped for a little more depth to the story. Nevertheless I still enjoyed it.

It was a different genre from what I usually read but it was fun and enjoyable!
Thank you NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton for this ARC!!

I really enjoyed Make Up Break Up!
It was great fun, fast paced and I particularly loved the modern setting of two software/app development companies.
A found parts were a bit repetitive or predictable but it didn't ruin the flow. The characters were great, strong female representation, and a father who was so lovely. It delivered on the romance and the happy ending.
If you want have happy, fast paced romance, then this is the book for you!

A really solid addition to the genre; reliable, if a little predictable in places. Would recommend if you know what you want from this sort of book, as it definitely delivers that. Writing is a bit clunky but a good beach read.

If your looking for a cute summer read then you need to add Make Up Break Up to your TRL. It's a book that easily could become a comfort read that you read again and again. It's warm, funny and full of romance and is a very lovely and enjoyable read.

It was a good book the usual rom-com.
I enjoyed the characters in the book their love hate relationship. Annika develops Make Up app with her friend June who is the programmer and Hudson has developed an app called Break Up which you can guess what this does. What they get up to try and sabotage each other to try and get investors into the business.
I enjoyed the book it didn’t grip me but didn’t make me think this isn’t what I expected.

This is an enemies to lovers story about two competing app developers. I loved the premise of this book. The banter between the MCs was fun, the chemistry was great, steamy scene was sizzling!. I really liked the secondary characters and overall enjoyed this read!

I am disappointed with this book. I was expecting one thing and received another. It had potential but it was not well written.

As a debut adult romance by an author who has given young adult gems, this story not only delivers on what is expected from an entertaining love story established on a summer fling and moral rivalry, but also gives an ardent recognition to young women in the tech industry. A lighthearted tale filled with fun banter and a miscommunication trope that doesn't read frustratingly, this fiction acknowledges and even appreciates significant differences between the protagonists, not just on where their ambitious compasses point but even on the inevitable distinctness that exists in interracial relationships. Though, the characterisation often turned a little irrational in it's effort to be idealistic and that led to underwhelming explanations. A quick read with some great insight into BIPOC women navigating the tech and entrepreneurial landscape while also tackling familial expectations.

I liked the idea but I struggled to get into this book, I feel like it has potential but I couldn't get into it and didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for approving me for this arc!
This book was good and I did enjoy it even it if wasn’t my usual read.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me.
I didn't feel the plot moved quick enough to keep the reader interested .
The romance felt somewhat contrived especially the love/hate element at the beginning, I felt Anna was childish and it took away from the romance.
However, it was defiantly a light hearted read. I appreciated the female CEO as the main character.
This book will undoubtedly find success with the right reader but I could only rate this 2 stars.
Thank you for supplying the ebook in exchange for review and best of luck to the author.

Hugely enjoyable! A great read, I loved it
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for my feedback.

3.5 star read
It was a slow read for me but i wished i could have more plot towards the characters as it was a bit dry for me. Though most of the community people enjoyed it.
I will have to pass for this one!

Description 🔖
Annika Dev believes in fairy tales, true love and happily ever afters and all of that is the inspiration for her app; Make Up. It’s been called Google translate for failing relationships. Hudson Craft’s app is a direct contradiction of that. His app Break Up has been called Uber for break ups. Annika and Hudson’s week long fling in Vegas was fine at the time as their opposing beliefs didn’t matter.
However Hudson moves into the office next door and the two clash time and time again. Competing within the same business with opposing ideas makes them enemies right? However the closer Annika gets to Hudson, the more she questions whether Hudson really is the playboy millionaire that he’s depicted to be. Will they forever be in opposition or will they teach each other what happily ever after really means?
General Thoughts 🤔
I really needed a book to put a smile on my face and this book popped to the top of my TBR list at exactly the right time. It was funny and romantic and gave me all of the feels. Don’t get me wrong there is a certain amount of cheese but there is always a time and a place for cheese; and this was it.
I thought that this was a great play on a classic enemies turned lovers plot line that was fun and flirty. There’s some raunchy bits in there to spice it up a little but then some pulling on the heartstrings to give a lovely full rounded rom com.
Characters 👬👭👫
I’m pretty sure everyone can relate to Annika in one way or another. She wanted Hudson so badly, but fought against herself because she couldn’t get behind the ethics of his business. But her physical want for him did betray her at times and haven’t we all been there? I loved the passion that Annika had for her own business and how strongly she believed in it.
Hudson sounded like a heart throb and I have no shame in admitting that. I totally understand why Annika struggled to control herself around him. I had a suspicion from early on that there was a sweet and soft side to him that Annika was failing to see and I’m so glad it got to shine through.
Writing Style ✍️
Once I’d started I struggled to put this book down. The relationship between Annika and Hudson was captivating and I thought it was developed by the author brilliantly.
I enjoyed that this book gave me all of the warm fuzzy feelings but also made me laugh with the odd feeling of sadness. There was just the right amount of each to make it a fun and engaging read.
Conclusion & Scoring 🎖️
Just when I was in the mood for something lighthearted, heart warming and fun, this book came along. The characters were great, the storyline was endearing and I would definitely recommend this book for curling up on the sofa on a weekend.
