I have enjoyed all of the Rebel Girls books so far, and this was no exception. I enjoyed having a selection of female leaders specifically and appreciate how Rebel Girls has begun categorizing their books. This makes it easier to select a title for oneself or for a gift.
I have seen many books of Rebel Girls in the bookstore. I wonder what they wrote inside. After few years my curiosity was fed well. Rebel Girls Lead introduced me to 25 great women who came from different background and profession. I recognized 10 of them and I have read their stories but it is still nice to read about them from Rebel Girls version.
I like the illustration. It took sometimes to realize that each page was drawn by different illustrator. All of them are great. It suprised me there is also an illustrator from Indonesia who participated in this book. Well done, girl!
Rebel Girls Lead is my first book and something for sure I'd love to read another series of Rebel Girl.
I can't stop recommending the Rebel Girls series of books. These stories really highlight what has been missing from normal history books. I love these female role models!
I give this series of books to my best friends daughter so it was great to read it before I buy it for her. I wish we had books like this when I was younger. I would have loved them and it would have made my journey so much easier. Brava!
An amazing compilation of introduction of the women who has made history and made a difference in one way or the other for the betterment of everyone.
The writing is summarised in a page describing one personality alongwith a colourful portrait. It's a simple yet powerful read as all the rebel girls series books.
So grateful for this book.
Thank you, publisher, the author, the artist and the team, for the advance reading copy.
I love the Rebel Girls books, and this was as great as expected. I can't wait to read the next one, and thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an EArc of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
This is a wonderful compilation of stories regarding the many women leaders that we have as examples. Each story is inspiring, and the illustrations that go with each story make the words come alive. This is a fantastic installation to the series, and makes the reader aware of many women leaders in our world.
This book would be a great gift for any little girl who aspires to make a difference, Its packed with stories of how many great women reached their goals and made the world a better place with their actions.
I highly recommend this!
We love every Rebel Girls book! They are fantastic stories about real people and my daughters and students return to them time and time again. I look forward to adding this to our school library collection!
Love this so much! It's easy to follow along. The stories are captivating and inspiring. This is the perfect book for young girls and even women alike.
I loved the style of this book as well as hearing the short summaries of the women and what it was what made them so wonderful
Great collection this is also good to show and read to girls as they grow up to show that they have no limit and they can achieve anything they want to I personally read this although I am a white British female I think it is important to learn about other races and the achievements they have especially as I love to support other women as we all are just trying to achieve our end goals in the life that we have and I love that this is dedicated to women
Rebel Girls Lead - 25 Tales of Powerful Women.
For her twelfth birthday just a little over a year ago, I gave my niece the first two volumes in the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls series of books. Gorgeously hardbound and illustrated by various artists, I won't be surprised if they become collector's items one day.
The books contain succinct, one-page biographies of various real-life women and girls from history and the present day who have made and are making an impact in business, politics, sports, the arts, entertainment, media, etc. worldwide. Each story is accompanied by an illustration of the featured person.
Rebel Girls Lead revisits some of the fierce and fearless females spotlighted in the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, plus eleven new ones. It was written following the global outbreak of the Coronavirus, because it describes how Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand's young Prime Minister, handled the pandemic. It also features Kamala Harris and briefly describes her path to becoming the first female (and the first woman of colour) Vice-President of the United States of America.
It's written in an easy to read conversational style suitable for tweens and young teens. (But this dinosaur of 47 thoroughly enjoyed it too!) The last few pages of the 64-page book contain quizzes and tips on how to become a leader. There is also room for the reader to write her (or his) own story and draw their own portrait.
I highly recommend this book, and any in the Rebel Girl series, for any young person in your life.
This book was a very fun and interesting read. The fact that some of these biographies were found in other Rebel Girls books was interesting, especially since this was a smaller book. It will encourage kids to look for these ones in other Rebel Girls books enticing them continue reading. The fact the pictures are all drawn by different artists was another fact I loved. The different art styles always brings light to the different types of art in the world. I loved this book and cannot wait to read another!
I always enjoy the Rebel Girls book. This one is focused on leaders, and really spans the ages - from Cleopatra to Kamala Harris. This was an inspiring book for young people who dream of making a difference and becoming the future leaders of the world.
Rebel Girls Lead: 25 tales of String Woman is an awesome collection of short biographies of 25 very powerful women. This book includes female leaders in politics, sports, business and more. Written in fairy tale form, I love how every one-page story gave insight into each womanβs background, and ended each entry with their most prominent achievement. There is so much power in the notion of inspiring young girls to do great things and fulfill their dreams, showing them they can do it too even when the world tell them they can't.
Each story has an accompanying portrait of its subject, done by various female illustrators from all over the world. Very cool, yes?
The book concludes with a series of worksheets, encouraging young readers to write their own stories and draw self portraits, and to consider their own leadership skills, style and aspirations.

My only issue (aside from the e-ARC not available to Kindle and is not compatible to read in mobile phones probably because of the heavy graphics π
) is that there are hardly any girls from other places. 16 out of 25 are Americans, probably because this is published in the US and is targeted to middle-grade American readers. I hope in future installments, they will have a broader collection of inspirational women all over the world to really justify the title 'Rebel Girls'.
Empowering, informative, and motivational, this book is highly recommended to readers of all ages.

Huge thank you to the publishers for sending a copy my way for review. This is a fun and informative book that is full of inspiring women, both past and future, and is an absolute delight to read. Made for younger readers the stories of these women are summarised into short and punchy profiles with beautiful art pieces. Though I do feel bad for the Elizabeth I portrait as all the others seem quite flattering to their subject but the art work is well done!
The writing is easy to read and everything is set out in a clear and informative way. I really enjoyed this and would highly recommend! I canβt wait to share this with my little cousin, sheβll love it!
I love this book! I've recently been into feminism, and not many books could be aimed at kids. This is definitely one of them that are!
Thank you to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC of Rebel Girls Lead.
Rebel Girls Lead: 25 Tales of Powerful Women focuses on stories of female leaders. I always love learning about more amazing women with the Rebel Girls books. Again, I learnt about more inspiring women and that's all I want from the books of Rebel Girls.
