Forbidden Hawaiian Nights is a M&B Modern novel written by Cathy Williams. This is the first novel in the Secrets of the Stowe trilogy. Set in the luxurious setting of Hawaii, billionaire tycoon Max Stowe must find his missing sister and run their hotel until he does so. Landscape gardener Mia Kaiwi is his temporary assistant. He is a workaholic whilst she is determined not to have her heart broken again. The sparks fly and there is a definite attraction between the pair, but can this attraction survive?
This novel is very slow to get going. Perseverance is needed to get through the first few chapters, then the storyline becomes more enjoyable. The characters don’t particularly catch the readers attention so it shall be interesting to see how this series develops in the next two books.

I do love a steamy romance, and this book certainly delivered on that front.
Max is a brooding tycoon boss who is commanding, and more importantly he is completely off limits as he is Mia's temporary boss. However, when working so closely beside one another, there is only so long that they can resist temptation. When Max is open about his desires, the choice is left up to Mia - does she continue to resist temptation, or does she give in to her own needs too?.
This book was certainly a fast paced read that kept me well and truly engrossed throughout. The characters were great, the storyline was fun, with a great mixture of romance and steam, which in all made it a great read!.
For brooding tycoon Max Stowe, Hawaii is no holiday. He must track down his missing sister and take over running his island hotel until she reappears. His first task? Enlisting the help of headstrong landscape gardener Mia Kaiwi…
Max is everything Mia shouldn’t want – commanding and completely off-limits as her temporary boss! But there’s no escape from temptation working so closely together. And when Max declares his desire, it’s up to Mia – dare she explore their connection, even if just for a few, scorching nights? This book was tempting from the story description, however, for me it din't quite live up to the promise. Cathy Williams books are normally immediate 'go to' books , but this one didn't quite hit the spot.
The exotic setting of this novel was what drew me to request to read it. The setting may have been exotic but the pace of the story and characters was slow and rather laborious.
There's fantastic chemistry between Mia and Max from their first encounter, but Max is all about work, and Mia isn't anxious to risk her heart again. Hawaii weaves its magic, the elements and proximity conspire to make sensual encounters inevitable.
This is a conflicted romance Max and Mia have a professional relationship, should they compromise it? Both have to change their outlook on life but are they ready to change enough for a happy ending?
This is a great start to the Secrets of the Stowe family series. It romantic and sensual and has a lovely happy end.

Oh dear! This ought to have been great. Exotic setting in Hawaii. Luxurious, sumptuous lifestyle details with private jets, luxury hotels and designer clothes. Beautiful, environmentally friendly, surfer female and gorgeous, alpha, cold billionaire. Alone together touring the islands with growing sexual tension culminating in......
But it took ages to get going and then I started to skim because it was slow and boring for much of the time. There were some lovely segments in it but I was never really engaged in the characters or the story. This was a disappointing read from the normally brilliant writer. Sorry , not for me!
