I had been looking for a simple beginner's guide for head massaging for a while and found this book very insightful with great illustrations and instructions that were no-nonsense and easy to understand. A fantastic book for newbies.

As a person who suffers from sinus and head issues, this book captivated me! The illustrations were easy to follow and I was able to feel some relief at home. This book is a great book for those who want to learn about a new form of massages to help migraines or to help relive some tension from stress .

This book is useful and eye pleasing so, it would make a nice self care gift. I’m not entirely sure it’s enough for me to feel confident in applying the techniques though.

This handy guide packs in a lot of info, and does it in a clear, easy to follow way. You'll learn about not just the health benefits of head massage, but the spiritual and psychological benefits as well. At the beginning, you learn about the basics: doshas (elemental body types), marmas (energy points), how to prepare yourself, including stretching your arms, hands, and shoulders, and the basic movements involved. There are hair oil recipes for different treatments, and step-by-step rituals to help with various ailments or complaints, clearly illustrated and explained for performing on yourself or someone else. Whether or not you get into the spiritual aspect of these techniques, they'll be very helpful in relieving stress, easing headaches, and more!

This books teaches different types of head massages. The diagrams and descriptions were great and easy to follow. I particularly enjoyed the recipes for different oils to use.

Press Here! Ayurvedic Head Massage for Beginners: A Practice for Promoting Overall Health and Wellness by Hillary Arrieta, is a very interesting book. I found this book easy to understand with wonderful pictures to help you. Ayurvedic Head Massage has so many wonderful benefits. Sleep disturbances, reducing stress, ease muscular tension, increase blood circulation, and ease depression, just to name a few. I highly recommend this book, if head massage is something you want to know more about.

I really liked this book. I am really intrigued by head massage and always feel such a huge benefit but never really understood the process or practicality of doing it.

This book was really lovely. Great words and pictures balance and extremely easy to follow whilst being very detailed. I learnt a lot and definitely benefited from this book so thank you so much for allowing me access

Absolutely gorgeous and very educational book. I really enjoyed the 'Massage' book in this series and ended up buying a hard copy as I really wanted a copy on my shelf. This is probably going to happen again! I really love how it covers giving a massage to others as well as yourself. As well as for relaxation, it includes tips on health and beauty - included how to ease a headache. Really enjoyable and look forward to reading more in the series.

A well written and easy to follow book. Unfortunately, our budget is tight and I can't justify buying copies of so specific a topic.

[Book Review] "Press Here! Ayurvedic Head Massage for Beginners" is a lovely, illustrated text on giving yourself self care & performing massage on others. Performing a massage on others does come with clear instructions & contra indicators for when it shouldn't be done.

The illustrations are well drawn & helpful as visual aids.

Having had an odd headache, complete with dizziness & nausea for the last 15 hours, I can attest that some of the pressure point massage referenced, did bring some relief. I would rather use pressure points than drugs as often as possible.

This is a great starting point but it is not a replacement for trained therapists & doctors. Do try & use common sense before trying any of the things in this book.

--Lovely Intro to Head Massage--

I received an advance review copy from the publisher through NetGalley, and here are my thoughts.

This book is beautifully organized and is full of precise, simple instructions accompanied by drawings that show you where to place your hands, etc. I actually think I prefer these drawings to photographs, because the placement of the fingers, etc, seems to stand out more this way. And I love how some of the "models" have green or pink hair.

In addition to massage, there is information about different oil types to use for different situations, as well as how to give self care to yourself.

All in all, if this is a topic you are interested in exploring and are new to it...this is an excellent resource.

This is an easy to follow book and the illustrations are bright and clear.

It would be more helpful to have step by step guides of the actual movements maybe three steps instead of 1 picture so you know you're doing it correctly.

There were also a lot of repetition but I suppose that is because the author wanted to include different variations.

Massage therapy is a great way to connect and engage with your loved ones, applying healing techniques to reduce pain and tension while increasing relaxation and enjoyment.

This book is perfect for those who like me who like to learn new things and indulge in a bit of self-care. The book is full of colour, easy to use, easy instructions to follow and I would adore a physical copy.

Ayurvedic Head massage is the first book of this topic I have read so far and to be honest I went into it blind because I had never heard of it before. I'm so glad I got the chance to read it.
The illustrations are lovely and simple and blend well with the information and instructions given throughout the book. The book itself is broken down into four areas - Basic Principles (which includes information on chakras and more), Before you begin, Herbal Hair Oils and finally Massage Rituals.
This book was clear and easy to understand and follow and I can't wait to try some of the massages on myself and others to see what they are like.

This is a well illustrated book of scalp, shoulder and face massages from an Ayurvedic perspective. I've never been really into things like chakras and Ayurvedic types but even if you are not, there are some helpful instructions for giving this type of massage. It covers the history and also gives recipes for hair oils and things like that, plus gives basic types of massages (shampoo, tug, etc.) and then gives sequences for specific needs like relieving headaches and promoting restful sleep.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
