The Transylvania Twist by Angie Fox
An unexpected though not my usual read but exiting action and fun enjoyable paranormal romance humour suspense this unexpected book has it all really glad to read this page turner 4.5/5
This book was so amazing! I loved the storyline and the characters were interesting! I would highly recommend this book to everyone!
This a fun light and snarky supernatural read. Great character dynamics and banter. I really enjoyed it.
cute different read; read this last year so I don't remember a lot other than I enjoyed it. This is a rom com paranormal story. Light read. I didn't realize it was a sequel when I got it on netgalley.
As of things couldnt get any worse when her boyfriend dumps her and leaves for the front, she finds out that her old flame is still alive and needs her help. Can she fulfill the new prophecies as they are stated and help prevent the extinction of the human race? This installment was excellent start to finish! I couldnt put it down!
THE TRANSYLVANIA TWIST is the second book in the Monster MASH series. This series must be read in the order of release.
A truce does not mean that the factions of war have quite scheming. So, while the Old Gods and the New Gods have called a halt to actual fighting, the MASH unit is running a clinic for the locals and treating regular illnesses, accidents, and conditions. This includes discovering that Medusa has a little stone in the oven. Of course, Petra gets pulled into the schemes behind the truce and that’s where the action is. The prophecies are still coming; Petra continues to be the center of the prophecies though nobody can know.
This story is exciting and fun. There is love, humor, suspense, a bit of steam, and lots of little swamp lizards. I’m looking forward to starting book 3.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via NetGalley, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

i always enjoy Ms. Fox's work, so when I saw that I could request the second book in the Monster Mash series I jumped on it. This book was really fun to read and had what I enjoyed from Ms. Fox's previous works.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I am not sure what is going on. What happen to Galen and the not so dead ex named Marc is here now. They are going on a mission to talk to a person that was killed and to stop the the use of mysterious weapon. That is said to kill gods and demigods. I am a bit confused by this complete change. It has complete funny moments and wonderful characters. I was hoping to see more about her love with Galen and such. He just seems to be gone.
This was probably my favorite of the series! Medusa is a fabulous character and makes things really interesting/fun for Petra. There are tons of surprises (some of them very frustrating) but it is a very well-written story and ends with a great cliff hanger that makes you want to start book 3 immediately.
This was an interesting continuation for this series. I enjoyed being taken on the next adventure with Petra and the gang to race against prophecies and fight immoral gods and creatures even though she only a mere human with one giant secret.
Petra’s character continued to be fun, witty, and definitely original as she shows up to Kosta’s office in only a pink robe. Gotta love that imagery.
The couple downsides to this book is the mythology is really packed in that for someone like me who isn’t a mythology nerd it makes it harder to follow. Also (and I’m hoping this is addressed in the next book, but doesn’t seem like it will be) Galen just said goodbye and we’re supposed to be totally cool with that to the extent that a blast from the past can just waltz right in and be okay with her being now totally into him again. Like I didn’t feel like we had closure and it was time to move on yet!
Overall the storyline and writing are excellent. That characters are all fun with their own quirks and interests (insert the action figure obsession). If you like paranormal and mythology this is definitely a book for you!
The Transylvania Twist by Angie Fox (Monster M*A*S*H 2) has Petra still on the front lines, but with the truce between the old gods and the new gods, they have less urgent things to do, and can start doing the day to day care that people need. Like Medusa, who finds out she's pregnant!
Galen tells Petra that he has to go, and breaks up with her. She's left heart broken, and then events happen so that she finds her ex from the old days.
This is a fun, fast paced read, with fantastical creatures, oracular declarations, and friends who collect odd things.
I classify these books as cosy fantasy, as it has lots of events that happen, but you know your heroine is going to be safe at the end of the book.
The Transylvania Twist was published on 26th January 2021, and is available from Amazon and Waterstones .

Another entertaining look into the lives of Petra and her MASH unit. More crazy prophecies and even more crazy antics from Petra's friends. I'm really looking forward to the third book!
Petra is back again. Jumping straight into danger and trying to either complete the prophecy or stop it. Now add in a former flame and feelings are added to mix causing an even more tension building experience. I was easily pulled into the world no matter how many side distractions the real world provided and it was easy to fall back in even after long breaks. The characters are memorable. It took me a while to get in but once you're in, you're hooked. Looking forward to the third book in the trilogy as I had so many questions about the relationships introduced and expanded on in the first book, that was either carried on in this book or ended. There were a lot of moments when I wanted to shake Petra and ask well what about this character but it seems, it will be all clarified in the third book. Can't wait. I want answers.
Oh how I looked forward to this mythology, war, paranormal and fantasy combined. Yes please!
However I found the book lacking overall between the characters feeling one dimensional, the plot feeling simplistic and to be honest boring because not a lot was happening to keep me interested.
Good concept but it just wasn't for me sadly, could be the perfect book for someone else though.
I hadn't read the first book but it didn't take me too long to catch up to what happened in the previous book, so it could be read as a stand alone.
2.75 Stars
For anyone who loves rom-cons with a paranormal twist, this series and book is just what the doctor ordered! It is light yet suspenseful, humorous, yet romantic and all kinds of fun to read. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, much may be lost as this story is based on and develops from the first book in this series. That being said, a first time reader may actually enjoy the story-line more, as the weird switch in romantic interests won’t be noticed. And that is the biggest downfall in this story for this reader. One becomes so attached to the fabulous character of Galen in the first book, that to abruptly take him out of the picture at the beginning of this story and immediately introduce a new love is just too jarring to believe, or enjoy. Uh... nope. Just didn’t work.
Still, if one is taking this story specifically, all the qualities, entertainment, suspense and light-hearted banter and high-jinx are dished out on a very scrumptious platter of enjoyment.
I have to say – I’m quite glad that I read these books out of order, because I’m not sure I would have continued with the series if I hadn’t. It isn’t that this one is badly written, or lacking in tension – in fact, this particular storyline is probably the strongest of all the books. But the hard fact of the never-ending war, even with a truce, is grittily portrayed in this one. And while there are splashes of humour – I love the plotline where Medusa is pregnant and Petra is in charge of her ante-natal care – this time around, I was far more aware of the darker underbelly of this story.
There is also a love triangle. Generally, I’m not a huge fan of this dynamic, as it mostly manages to make the protagonist look like a shallow-minded flirt for not being able to make up her mind between the two men cluttering up her life. However in this case, Petra gets a pass. Her relationship with a super-soldier, now suddenly no longer immortal, comes to an abrupt end as he is called back to the front with little or no prospect of their meeting up again. And then her former fiancé, who she believed was dead – makes a sudden appearance… As I once knew someone whose parents had gone through this harrowing scenario at the end of WWII, I’m quite happy for this plotline to unfurl. But while there are funny moments – it is also quite an emotional read, which isn’t a bad thing but I was looking for something a bit fluffier.
That said, I really like Petra and her bouncy look on life, while the world is vividly described. The action scenes work well with plenty of tension and drama and I blew through this one in a couple of sittings, still held by the story, even though I already knew the ultimate outcome – which is a strong testament to Fox’s writing. Highly recommended for fantasy fans who like something quirky, with plenty of light-hearted moments. While I obtained an arc of The Transylvania Twist from the publishers via Netgalley, the opinions I have expressed are unbiased and my own.
8/10
I wanted to read the entire series before I reviewed it.
I enjoyed it a lot. The description of the place, I could just imagine it as if I were there.
I loved the main character, she made me think and made me have fun.
The only thing, we didn't get a big epilogue, with these type of books I always want a big ending, we have seen hardships and heartbreaks that I want the good stuff too, specially what happened with Galen.
This is the second time I fall in love with a Galen.
Can't wait to see if there is a spin off o more of this series
I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would, it's the second in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone book. It's such a unique and wonderful world of weird that I has no limits on who may walk in for treatment.
Petra Robichaud is back in Book Two of Angie Fox's Monster MASH series. And so is Petra's dead boyfriend Marc, serving in the enemies' army. How do you manage to tend to a pregnant Medusa, save the world (again), and deal with long dead romantic feelings? Petra proves that you can do all of that and more.
