M*A*S*H Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. When a mostly mortal surgeon is drafted into a MASH unit that serves the wounded paranormals involved in the war between the gods, it's a good bet there is going to be a great story to tell. And tell Angie Fox does. Our mostly mortal doctor, Petra, is now solidly entrenched in a unit populated with vampires and werewolves and fae....not to mention the immortals fighting on both sides. The backstory is definitely unique and the comical situations pile up quickly when your enlistment never ends. Camp pranks run hand in hand with the actual saving of lives. This book is VERY entertaining and I will be watching closely for the next one.

I really got caught up in the first book but absolutely loved this one ! I cannot praise this unique take on Mash medicine highly enough. I adore Petra our medic as she just cares so much. In this book we get to see much more meddlesome Gods or maybe I mean Goddesses. Plus I absolutely forgive the author for changing the romance because it was a surprise that really worked. Add in absolutely crazy additional characters from Medussa to Hellhounds and this the second book is absolutely fabulous. I hear it's a slight rewriting of an older trilogy that I haven't read so honestly cannot say how it compares but I can say I'm loving it.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

A truce has been called in the war between the Old Gods and the New Gods, and Petra Robichaud, drafted surgeon in the New Gods army, is enjoying the breathing space. It’s not as much fun when her boyfriend announces he’s been recalled to his unit – and that he’s breaking up with her, but things get even more complicated when her ex-fiancé – a surgeon drafted into the Old Gods army who she was informed ten years before had been killed – shows up needing her help. The icing on the cake is the new prophecies being announced… Fate, Destiny, whatever you want to call it – it’s not done with Petra Robichaud yet!

This is a delicious second chapter in the delightful Monster M*A*S*H series. Readers will find their return to Petra’s life – and the MASH 3063 camp she’s been assigned to – just as comfortable, humorous and inviting as her first adventure. Petra’s high-stakes mission gives readers a new pulse-pounding exploration of Limbo, the plane where the never-ending war of the gods is going on, and it’s fascinating. We get a glimpse of the frontline and the other side, and some new characters and creatures show up, as well as returning favorites.

Also intriguing is the introduction of Petra’s former fiancé, whom she thought was dead. With Galen out of the picture, Marc’s appearance packs a mean punch, and Petra only wishes she could remain unemotional. While romance readers might be a bit disappointed with the romantic developments in The Transylvania Twist, everything really works if you remember that this series is fantasy at its heart. Galen’s promised return in the next volume in this series whets the imagination, as only the best love triangles can. (And this from a reader who really isn’t a fan of love triangles!) The adventure, description and characterization in this book are all top-notch. I do think that readers should begin with the first story in the series, The Monster MASH to best enjoy and understand what’s going on, but those who have enjoyed that volume should have no fear that Fox has let up on the humor, wonder, or brilliantly engaging characterization that made the first book such a blast to read. I cannot wait to see what’s in store in book three, Werewolves of London!

This book was amazing!! This sequel to The Monster MASH is just as much fun as the first book. It definitely helps if you read Monster Mash first so you know all of the background. The story takes place in the MASH unit of the new gods' army. This is a great adventure with prophecies, romance and friendships. I loved it and couldn't put it down. I'm dying to find out how Medusa's pregnancy goes! Read and enjoy both!!

The Transylvania Twist by Angie Fox is a humorous paranormal romance. Dr. Petra Robichaud is an intelligent, strong protagonist. She must be if she is going to treat a pregnant Medusa and not be turned to stone. I like the quirky characters in this engaging series. While The Transylvania Twist is the 2nd book in The Monster MASH trilogy, it can be read on its own. Everything a reader needs to know is included. Angie Fox has an engaging writing style. She draws you into the story and holds onto you until the very end. Petra has some unique roommates with a vampire and a Star Trek figurine loving werewolf. The storyline is creative. A war between new golds and old gods playing out in limbo with an assortment of creatures and humans. The word imagery allows me to visualize the scenes including Petra’s cobbled together lab. I laughed often while reading this amusing tale. I especially enjoyed the banter between Petra and her werewolf roommate. The Transylvania Twist blends suspense, romance, mystery, and humor into one engaging read. You have to wonder if Petra will survive a murdered ghost, a roommate’s prolific rumors, a flirtatious goddess, a pregnant gorgon, a hellish hole, and an overflow of figurines in her bunk. The last third of the book had me quickly turning the pages to find out what happened. The Transylvania Twist is a fun, quirky story with a prickly pregnancy, an excess of Stark Trek collectibles, a statistic loving sphinx, predictive prophecies, a back-from-the-dead beau, a damaging ghost, a daring shapeshifting dragon, and a rare rock.

This book was very heartbreaking. I think that Petra has a lot to figure out at this point and everything gets very confusing. She has done so much and keeps losing everything she works so hard to keep. This book had me on edge. Wondering who was going to win the final fight. With everything that is going on she has to come to terms with the past. What she loves. What she is willing to fight for. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next one.

Loved it even more than the first book in the series. Starts out with surprise of good news, bad news.
OMG. In addition to more of the fun, passion, drama, adventure, mystery, conflict and romance, there is espionage and geeky science- Star Trek, Star Wars, geology, botany and chemistry. Great new characters to liven up the camp and most of the lovable ones from Book #1 are still stuck in MASH 3063. After all, they were drafted indefinitely, until the war permanently ends. There is more prophecy interference in Petra's life. Medusa is pregnant (Love how Dr. Petra and Medusa interact), gods and goddesses cause chaos in everyone's life, Petra has to interrogate a ghost in the enemy camp, with her ex. Her ex, being the dragon shifter fiance who supposedly died in the war before Petra even arrived in Limbo.....Oh man, he was in trouble. The ex-lovers team up to survive a spy mission, battle the dangers of jealous goddesses smiting them, try to understand the prophecy, try to stop a new inhumane weapon from being made and work out how they feel about each other after 10 years of being apart. Thrills and laughs galore throughout this hilarious and exciting paranormal rom-com adventure. Transylvania Twist is like M*A*S*H, but with Gods and Monsters..

Old and New Gods are at war in Limbo, a truce is currently in place. But the truce can end at a moments notice. Humans are taken from their homes and enlisted in one army or another. Petra is one such human, called upon for her medical expertise. However, little does anyone know; she has a gift.. What happens when a ghost from her past reappears begging for her to use her gift? With one fulfilled prophecy under her belt; Petra must risk it all to uncover the truth across enemy lines. What truth will she uncover?

This book has a little of everything; romance, humor, fantasy and even a pregnant medusa. This is book 2 in the Monster M*A*S*H series. I will admit that as of this review, I have not read the first book. However, I found it fairly easy to follow along with the story and plot of this book.

I am thankful to NetGalley, Angie Fox and Moose Island Books for allowing me the opportunity to review this ARC for my honest and unbiased review. All Opinions expressed in this review are solely mine.

Petra works for a mash unit but not just any MASH unit. It’s filled with Gods, Demi gods, vampires well you get the picture. Well one love leaves another enters. Problem is this one was supposed to have been killed. You put together a pregnant Medusa,. An ex boyfriend who happens to be on the wrong side of the war, and a whole lot of prophecies and you have a fun read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

I had a great time with this book! This is the second book in the Monster MASH series which I would recommend reading in order if at all possible but it could also work as a stand-alone if necessary. This is a lighter read that doesn't take itself too seriously and has a fair amount of humor woven throughout the story. I am so glad that I decided to give this series a try.

Petra is a doctor working in a MASH unit during the war between the Old Gods and the New Gods. Even though there is a truce it seems her work is never done and she is dealing with a pregnant Medusa among other things. She does not expect to find her dead fiance to be quite alive and reaching out to her for help. Petra can see ghosts so she is the perfect one to help figure out what is going on at his camp, which happens to be on the opposite side of the eternal war.

I have to admit that I was a little, okay a lot, sad by the fact that Petra says goodbye to Galen at the start of this book. We spent the whole previous book getting them into a relationship and I wanted to see more. I was a little disappointed that Petra moved on as quickly as she did but I decided to just go with it and see what would happen. I am not giving up hope on seeing Galen again though!

I thought that the story was pretty exciting. It is always fun to see what some of these characters will do. Petra is often faced with impossible situations and I love how she always seems to make things work out in the end. I like that this was a lighter read with wonderful characters and a fun tone throughout. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

I received a digital review copy of this book from Moose Island Books via NetGalley.

Second book of the series! More prophecies for Petra but this time she has her ex thought to be dead boyfriend to help her. Hes on the opposite side of the war but needs her help to figure out what the old gods are up to. And of course that leads to more craziness. Loved Petra and Marc together but I'm gonna assume the next book has Galen coming back so cant wait to see how this all plays out!

I loved this installment as well! There were a few lines i laughed at but there was much more suspense and holy *bleep* moments in this book than the first. This trilogy could easily become one of my favourites and i can't wait for the final one next month! There are still some questions unanswered but just means I'll definitely be reading the next one!

Petra's life goes topsy turvy when she is unceremoniously dumped by her current love. Before she has time to appropriately grieve the loss, a former love comes back into her life needing help. I didn't want to like him because I was angry at the situation but, he is a good man. Petra seems to make smart choices but it doesn't stop the chaos of the world around her. I enjoyed this second installation of the trilogy and look forward to the final book.

Petra is a MASH doctor and trying to treat her patients while the gods clash it out in their war. Her recent patient is Medusa whom has a temper at best but the adventures continue. Petra is also worried about a certain fellow she has left behind and is feeling the guilt of it crush her...until he shows up at camp along with some more gods.

I continue to fall in love with this series! It’s fun and refreshing! I love the humor- it keeps me anticipating more. I received this ARC from Netgalley for a fair review. I rate this a 5 out of five, I thoughoughly enjoy this series every time I pick it up

I enjoyed book 2 in this series! Petra is again trying to fulfil ancient prophecies to stop the war between the gods. This time around the prophecies themselves are very vague, but they always have a way of coming true. As well as trying to complete these, Petra is also working on creating the anaesthetic for immortals, something valuable to those on both sides of this war.

This one had some twists, new characters, and more action/adventure than the first, but still had some funny moments like the first one did. I really want to read the finale in this trilogy (luckily it's not too far away) and I can't wait to see how it all works out in the end!

I'm not going to lie, I have no idea how I feel AT ALL about Marc's reappearance. While Petra's life has admittedly been thrown into turmoil (not just by the prophecies, either. Thanks, Galen.), the fact he let her (and his family) believe he's been dead for the last 10 years is a hard one for me to work my head around. Plus, I liked Galen. You know, right up until he started making decisions for her.

Nobody's perfect, I guess.

Anywho. There's more prophetic mayhem making the rounds and Petra's smack-dab in the middle of it. She's juggling a little heartache, a lot of disbelief, and she still has to hide her ability to see the dead or the gods (both old and new) might smite her. Which NOBODY wants. Really.

Oh, and there's a weapon of mass destruction that needs to be stopped.

Marc's reappearance throws her for a loop. Sneaking behind enemy lines is pretty darn dangerous. Accidentally meeting the parameters of various prophecies (which never tell her if she's on the right track or about to make everything worse for those around her) is mentally and emotionally exhausting. In other words, Petra's got a pretty full plate and things just keep getting more chaotic despite how she tries to stay out of the limelight.

One more book to go to see how it all plays out. I'm ready!

A little stronger plot than the first, but still needs a bit more depth. I will continue with the series, characters have great potential.

I was so happy that I got the book through NetGalley in exchange for a review, since I had just finished the first installment of the series, and I got to reading right away.
You definitely need to reed them in order since this book picked up were the last one ended. I don't want to give anything away but like another reader I could have hit Galen, however the story took a great turn and I can't wait to see what will happen next.
There were plenty of colorful and fun characters, some tense moments, romance, humor and danger. I can't wait for the last book to get here since I need to know how it will all end. In the meantime I will just re-read the first 2 books.

FYI this book was originally published under the title, Immortally Embraced.

Even during a truce, Petra has her hands full as a MASH surgeon. She has to deal with a pregnant Medusa, her presumed-dead fiancé showing back up, a new prophecy and a potentially deadly weapon being created by the Old Gods.

This was another nonstop action packed adventure for Petra. Just like in the first book, I really enjoyed Petra and her snarky comments. The MASH unit she is in is so much fun and filled with very unique characters, especially her roommates. She is a great heroine who ends up doing a lot of things she doesn’t want to do to try and stop the war between the Old and New Gods. I like that she isn’t a perfect heroine and is frequently grumpy that she has to help save the world again.

While I did enjoy this story, I was disappointed by Galen not being a part of it. I thought they were a great couple in the first book and was extremely disappointed that their relationship doesn’t continue. I liked Marc but the baggage between them made the relationship very stilted and somewhat repetitive. It’s hard for me to envision these two working out because they have changed so much.

Overall, this was an interesting world filled with unique characters. I am looking forward to the next book, especially since the Gods seem determined to start the war all over again.
