This book made me laugh out loud at several parts. You fall a bit in love with the main characters in this book and honestly want their lives to go good for them. It’s a fun ride of a book.

There are three main characters in this story. Clare, Anna and Ellie.
Clare is Ellie’s mother, and Anna works with Ellie.
Clare and Anna both had married men 20 years older , Not a problem initially but with potential problems in later years . Ellie is engaged to an older man .
I enjoyed this book which explored the various relationships and characters, It looked at the various issues which occur in a different age marriage and how the relationship can adapt to overcome them.
Written in a light hearted way, I enjoyed it

A light summer read. An average read which didn’t grab me though. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.

I thought this was a reasonably good book, until I saw that it was meant to be funny. I hadn't found it funny at all, so was really surprised and if it is meant to be a funny book, it really missed the mark for me.
I also had been a bit at a loss for the ending - I do hate spoilers but I guess I can say that nothing really happened, and everyone just seemed to become content with their lot. Odd. Not the direction I had thought this book was going. If you like this kind of book, you may enjoy it, but perhaps not if you are looking for a humorous book?

Old Enough to Know Better is a light-hearted read that's great for reading sat in your garden, on the beach, on your daily commute. It's really well-paced. Humourous and full of scenarios many women will recognise and connect with,

When you are looking for a book to lose yourself in then I highly recommend this . A snap shot into family life and the dynamics that hold them together. Young Ellie starting out on her first serious relationship, Clare who wonder's what happened to her husband's passion for life. More fond of his wine collection than her and Anna married to a much older man who doesn't seem to know what to do with his days. Can they change their humdrum lives for the better? Old enough to know better? Read it and find out.
Full of great human observations with some false turns by the characters that made me laugh out loud as I could see them happening to me.

It was a bit of a slow burn for me with a lot of characters that I needed to get my head around. Once I had done that however I was fully invested in the stories of each of these main female leads, as they navigated through life and relationships. Clare and Anna both older, married to older men for many years and Ellie, a twenty something in a relationship with a man in his forties. I found myself truly rooting for them and intrigued by where their paths would lead.

As someone with an almost 11 year age gap, I loved the premise and honesty of this whole storyline. It was interesting to see the different routes long term marriages can take and how couples overcome natural hurdles- especially when growing old with an age gap. On the other hand I'm not entirely certain I enjoyed the fact that infidelity of some form was so strong to many involved, but perhaps that's a reality of marriage and life today? (I've not been married for 25+ years 😂)

Overall this was a sweet, easy read that didn't require too much brain power or questioning. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys character driven, family and friendship focused dramas.

Ellie, in her early 20's, is engaged to a man old enough to be her father; her mother Clare and colleague Anna are in similar marriages, with much older husbands. When Ellie announces her engagement, both Anna and Clare take stock of their own lives and where they find themselves as empty-nesters with retired or elderly husbands. Are they happy in the choices they made? And what will they do when overtures are made by younger men?

I wanted to like this. I wanted this to be a quick beach-read sort of book, with fun, relatable characters, but I struggled to warm to it. There were some fun moments, and the underlying message in the book gave food for thought, but perhaps I'm not quite the right demographic. It wasn't for me.

3 stars - for writing characters and scenarios that aren't generally tackled by authors.

Three women connected by familial or work ties arrive at a crossroads in their life, which makes them reflect on the past, present and future. Age-gap romance usually arouses comment from friends and families, particularly if the gap is generous. Clare and Anna both married older men. Now, as the age difference resonates, should they have listened to others? Ellie, Clare's daughter, has an older boyfriend. Will she follow in her mother's footsteps? Should she? Will Clare want her to?

This is an insightful story into relationships, life and love with relatable characters and family/friendship dynamics. The story is an engaging mix of emotion, humour and poignancy.

I received a copy of this book from One More Chapter via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This was an entertaining and often thought provoking read, looking at life through the eyes of women who are dealing with the realities of life and the paths they have chosen.

Ellie is one character who is starting out in life and is super excited to be engaged to Tom. He's 19 years older - she doesn't see this as an issue but some around her, including her mum, are keen to warn her that this could be a problem. Her mum knows only too well, as she married someone older so Ellie just sees her being hypocritical - instead of heeding the advice given.

Anna works with Ellie, and is at the point in her life when she's feeling lonely. Her son and his family live a distance away, and life just isn't making her excited anymore.

There are lots of fun, silly moments but there is also a deeper look at women coming to terms with where they are in life, wanting different things in relationships and wondering whether to 'stick or twist' so to speak. With Ellie, she is just swept up in the romance of it all and sees her other half can do no wrong!

I liked that this book is mainly aimed at an older audience - people who've maybe been through the same thing or approaching that stage of life, when you're not impressed by flashy behaviour and just want something different from life and a little bit more substantial and to feel fulfilled.

Though considered chick lit it is much more. This follows three women all who want their happily ever after. Have they picked the right men? This explores the age difference. What happens when you fall in love with a person who is significantly older than you are? What happens as time goes by and the haze of new love clears? Anna and Claire are in the place of not being thrilled about how their husbands have, or rather haven’t changed. They want more from life and love. And the Ellie, Claires daughter seems to be following the same path as her mother. It is a very interesting journey and read. I really enjoyed getting to know these women. I think you will too. I really enjoyed the subject matter and the writing. This author is definitely goin on my list to follow. A breath of fresh air.

It’s always a novelty to see your name spelt the same way in a book!

This was an easy book to read and a simple story to follow. women who have married men much older than them and their thoughts and insights in to that. An uplifting read from the start

I really enjoyed this book and could relate to some of the issues though my hubby is the same age as me. I laughed at Anne reading all the signals wrong that is definitely something I can relate to I am certainly out of touch. Initially I thought Anne was the weaker character but turned out she had such strength. Clare was what I would call the typical mum of 2 older teenage kids worrying constantly I can associate with that as im sure any parent can it never stops. Her dysfunctional family also amused me from her 2 sisters to her crazy mum. I was glad the author addressed the problems that Rupe had and this made the storyline very real and highlighted what alcohol abuse can do to a person. A nice gentle read that I will definitely recommend.

This is a delightful light read guaranteed to appeal to women of a certain age! At the heart of the story is the challenge of a significant age difference in a relationship, together with the the habit of taking things for granted in long term relationships. However it all works out in the end leaving the reader with a happy feelgood conclusion.

Age is just a number they say but sometimes it can lead to bigger problems later in life as Anna is now finding out. Her husband is old and she's feeling restless unsure of what she wants anymore. Whereas her younger colleague Ellie is just starting out with her new man but he's older than she is. Anna and Ellie's mother all have their concerns but do they have reason to be?

This was an interesting story but it just didnt hold my attention enough. The plot was slow and steady but the ending was fairly predictable. That being said I did like how it ended though. The characters are not overly likeable and all seem to have their own flaws. I did like Josh though, he was the most down to earth. A light read for summer just not for me.
