A really useful book to have within your repertoire. Simplicity is the name of the game. Clear instructions and pictures. Good for viewing on a kindle

Great little book full of interesting recipes. Have looked through and there are so many I want to try.

As a collector of cookery books I was fortunate enough to be offered a look at this one. I think it's a great collection of easy but diverse recipes. Very use at home but also on holiday, camping and caravanning, when you have no access to an oven. Not the easiest book to read on a kindle, I am going to pre order a copy.

As a student, I am always looking at cookbook that will help me diversify my meals and this one is perfect! It has a lot of recipes, diverse (with meat, vegetarian etc) and easy to follow steps! It's a really good book that I'll sure buy it when it'll come out!

As a mum of 3, I am always on the lookout for new recipes which don't take long to prepare.
Hob is a fantastic resource which I will have no hesitation in recommending.
Our personal favourites so far are the sweet potato and goat's cheese naan, apple and cinnamon rolls and the chunky chipotle chiili. I'm really looking forward to trying out some more of the recipes.
I love the fact that most of the ingredients can be found in the house already.
Many thanks indeed to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Before reading this E-ARC, I didn't realise just how much you can cook on a Hob! All of the recipes look really easy and there is a huge variety of recipes. I like the way the book is laid-out and the instructions are easy to follow and read. I especially like that this is a cookbook that doesn't call for specialist equipment or lots of hard-to-get ingredients!

Some great recipes and inspiration for meals. This is an invaluable book. Thank you for letting me review it.

Fantastic addition to anyone's cookbook collection! We've all found ourselves in the situation where all we have to cook on is our hob, and Amy has really provided a plethora of fantastic meals cooked solely on the Hob. Often these are one pot dishes too - who doesn't love that!! Cooking on the hob can be a real mixture of quick and slow cooking, with recipes included for brunch, quick dinners, weekend cooks, feasts and even sweet dishes too! I really enjoyed the elements of how to structure meal planning within the book as well, during lockdown meal planning has become key for me and the way this was detailed really helped me to get a better grasp on it.
I will definitely be making several of the recipes and I always really appreciate cookbooks that have a picture of each dish as well to make me want to cook them even more!! The Halloumi hash and perfect poached eggs with devilled crumpets are amazing brunch ideas and the popcorn chicken nachos look mouth-wateringly tasty!

This is a great mix of recipes designed for cooking on the hob, mostly just one pot ones, with some great ideas for meal planning too. Some were a bit too ingredient heavy for me, I love flavoursome dishes but aim for simplicity in honesty and few would appeal to my kids but my kids are awkward eaters. It would be good to see a mild version of more dishes although my eldest would love some of the spicier ones.

I am an absolute hoarder of cookbooks but often I only make one or two recipes from each then lose interest. And I'm also guilty of being a bit of a lazy cook. But then this book came along and, hey, now I don't even need to switch on the oven! And the recipes all sound interesting and tasty and there are so many of them. A fantastic book for anyone who has to eat but doesn't want to be tied to the kitchen all the time. Genius!

A selection of quick and easy recipes with a list of ingredients, easy to follow instructions and photographs of the finished meal.
Lots of choices to choose from to suit even the fussiest member of the family.
I think this book will become a favourite in my kitchen.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bloomsbury Publishing for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

As someone who enjoys both preparing and consuming food but who dislikes mess, waste and frazzled nerves, I was delighted to be given a free ARC of Hob in exchange for an honest review, which is what follows. Although it was a novelty to follow recipes from my Kindle, rather than turning the pages of a cookbook, this collection of recipes has quickly established itself as my favourite. Split into sections such as lunch & brunch, speedy dinners, weekend food, budget wonders, low simmering dishes, or simple side dishes, this book offers recipes that can all be cooked and served in under 30 minutes with the minimum of fuss and equipment and without saving on taste or variety. Chorizo marinara, vegetable couscous, blackberry crumble or cinnamon rolls? All guaranteed to be manageable, palatable and kind on the budget and on the cook. What a fantastic recipe collection – keep recommending it so more people can have an escape from the frenetic chopping, simmering, frying, steaming and juggling multiple pots and pans that so many other cookbooks demand, and discover this worthy cookbook!

This is a lovely little recipie book. I've seen some absolutely amazing ideas to try with my family.
The recipes are simple, cost effective and easy to follow. The pictures look amazing and there is a lot of really helpful information in them.
I would have paid for this book given the opportunity.

My thanks to Amy Sheppard, Bloomsbury Publishing and Net Galley for the ARC of HOB.
What a good idea! It's certainly true that we don't always want to do big oven cooks on the days we're working and quickly rustling something up on the hob is perfect. Sometimes it's difficult to come up with food that is interesting and a bit different. HOB has lots of quick nutritious recipes that don't take hours to put together.

This is a good cookbook for simple but easily replicated meals using items that are found regularly at home. It was nice that the recipes don’t require long lists of fancy ingredients.
The book is split into different categories, such as easy dinners and weekend meals. There will be something in there to suit all tastes.
So far I’ve tried a handful of recipes, but all have worked well and been tasty. These include 15 minute falafels, one-pot veg & feta couscous and butter chicken. My favourite so far has been the Smokey Bean Shakshuka. It’s become a firm brunch fixture on the menu here.
It’s certainly a cookbook that I would be happy to recommend

This cookbook is super-useful and easy to dip into. I loved the author’s friendly accessible tone and no-nonsense advice. You can use the book for a mid-week supper or a little more adventurous weekend feast. The recipes are easy to follow and this scaredy-cook got some great results! Thank you Amy for the cookbook I didn't know I really-needed #HOBBook #NetGalley

I immediately took to Amy Sheppard’s approach and her style of writing. She was prompted to write Hob after her oven was out of action for a week, forcing her out of a cooking rut. I too am usually (and happily) stuck in a cooking rut of one kind or another and need a nudge to change, perhaps from a meal I’ve had in a restaurant or read about in a magazine. Hob fits that bill very well – after years of hob-only cooking, I’ve spent the last couple of years wedded to the oven so a change is due.
I didn’t think I could write a proper review without trying out at least one of the recipes but I struggled to find something that really appealed which didn’t include starchy carbs and for which I had most of the ingredients already. However, I think this would be a good collection of ideas and recipes for those a little less confident in their cooking and meal planning and for whom time is short. It’s not highbrow but it is usable; some recipes include prepared ingredients such as cooked rice in pouches, which fits with the ethos of getting tasty meals on the table in a relatively short time. Reading this on Kindle ahead of publication, I didn’t get the full cookbook experience but it is well furnished with illustrations.

This is a highly practical and unpretentious cookbook which is full of easy recipes for cooking on the hob. The ingredients are mainly household staples which are easy to find and many of the recipes use leftovers, such as breadcrumbs, so there is minimal waste involved. This is not for the cookbook connoisseur or adventurous cook, but for somebody who is seeking to extend their cooking repertoire for everyday family meals that are quick and easy to prepare with minimal fuss after a busy day at work. I would think it’s also a great book to take on a camping or caravan holiday where there might be minimal cooking facilities.

This is a great book. For a not very good cook like me this takes the fuss out of cooking and gives me a confidence to try meals I previously wouldn’t have attempted. Its well laid out and split into different meal types and plans and nicely illustrated with pictures too

A must have cookbook - simple, easy to follow recipes, all of which can be made on your hob. The recipes are well written and the food photos are mouth watering
