A new series by Ms. Reus that starts it off with a bang. There is suspense and romance as Daniel and Kathryn reunite and fall in love again. There is someone out to harm her, but Daniel is determined to keep her safe and never let her go again.
They both have siblings to get HEAs which I can't wait to read.
Will they be able to rekindle their relationship when they had been once burned ...
I know the author for her paranormal romances, so this contemporary novella was a nice surprise.
If you are looking for a fast paced with the just dose of action and steam story, this one check all the cases.
Kathryn and Daniel have a past, and still stigmas from their recent breakup.
But they are level headed adults, so when they meet again, they talk and try to clear the path to maybe get a second chance.
Daniel never was able to get past his rupture with Kathryn, so seing her again is like a message to try again and correct what he failed the first time.
Kathryn instigated their separation, yet now they talk again, was she to harsh to jump to conclusion. Would her family’s history misled her to too quick assumptions.
An entertaining short story perfect for a late afternoon read.

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
I've enjoyed Reus' romantic suspenses through the years, and this quick novella was no different. The suspense was easy to suss out, but no less enjoyable. I like the way she tells a story.
Short read setting the stage for Katie’s newest series, The MacArthur Family. The beginning had Kathryn Irish and Daniel MacArthur seeing each other for the first time since their breakup. The characters in the book were all familiar to each other, giving me the feeling I was missing something, however, this was quickly remedied as I fell into their story. Even though a novella, Katie managed to give me everything I want in a book, romance, suspense, and a HEA.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I know when it is a book by this author, that I will totally enjoy the story, characters and dialog. As a contract worker, Kathryn Irish investigates computer security and prefers the freedom to only pick the jobs she wants to work. Her short affair with Daniel MacArthur ended badly when he thought she was after his money. Although her new case takes her to one of his buildings, she had not expected to see him standing in the lobby. Daniel is stunned to see her and the attraction is still there, but he has no idea why she broke up with him. When he learns she was recently mugged and another attempt is made, he can’t let her walk away again…what they had was too special. Can she trust him again with her heart? A sensuous, romantic suspense as the danger is not over for Kathryn or Daniel. I am really looking forward to the next books in this series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
A great start to a new series
Kathryn broke it off with Daniel because he thought she was after his money. But she just can't get over him. When she takes a contract job at one of his buildings, she purposely chose to go in when he's not there. Needless to say, she's very surprised when he walks up beside her at the elevators. Daniel can't believe his eyes when he sees Kathryn at his office. All he knows is that he's not going to let her go this time.
Kathryn and Daniel were meant for each other and they sure made the sparks fly between the sheets. This is a quick read that had me laughing out loud and wondering what is going to happen next. I can't wait for the Brodie and Sienna's books ... and maybe Carson will have a book.
I received an early copy courtesy of KR Press through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
I always love Katie's work and this much shorter novella length story that is the start of the MacArthur Family series was no exception
Kathryn Irish walked away from Daniel MacArthur after a misunderstanding and he knows that it was the stupidest thing in his life and that he should have never let it happen So when they meet again after the company she works for is employed to try to break the security at his business (she is a cyber security specialist) he is determined that this time she won't walk away When her life is threatened not once but twice he will do whatever he needs to keep her safe and make her is.
What a cute but fast paced novella. We have ex lovers that are meeting again and the heroine going to work on a project for him. The old flames are starting to burn again, but there are few coincidences that don't ad up...someone stole her purse and after two weeks man attacks her... The base of the story is interesting, it is easy to read it and it kept my attention until the end. I was sorry that it was short and the story didn't had a chance to develop slow. All in all it was a cute read, perfect for coffee break.
A book from Katie Reus can never ever disappoint me and this MacArthur sure enough has the right moves making me fall for him.
Book one, "Falling For Irish", in her new series of the MacArthur family, Daniel MacArthur gets a second chance to win his lady, Kathryn Irish back. Their first meeting is electrifying, and Kathryn does kick some ass on her mission. But the kick-ass lady needs some protection and Daniel is more than willing to fill those shoes.
Never having getting over one another, it was jus a matter of putting the past misunderstandings to rest, take care of the danger in the present, and have their future in their hands. A truly witty, loving and heartwarming read for the romantic suspense addicts!
Fantastic!
Second chance love with a dash of suspense, steam and humor.
I voluntarily read advanced copy.
Falling for Irish is the start of a new series by Katie and I'm here for it. This is a 2nd chance romance between Kathryn and Daniel and I was so rooting for their HEA. I, of course, want more of these sexy alpha males that Katie always writes. She is a go to author for me, especially with Alpha men! Looking forward to book 2.
Falling for Irish is the first book a new series. It's an engaging novella that was fast-paced and chock full of setup detail. It contains lovable characters and tosses in a little mystery.
Kathryn and Daniel had broken up a few months prior. It was a sudden and confusing breakup. They are both still nursing feelings for the other and haven't been able to move on. Life events toss them back together, so to speak. To complicate things, Kathryn appears to have angered someone and is in the crosshairs of danger. All of this blends together with Daniel and Kathryn's story to create a strong and quick to read novella. In addition, the reader is briefly introduced to some of the other family members who will no doubt make appearances in the future books. There is a lot to look forward to with The MacArthur Family series.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to review it and the opinions contained within are my own.
Computer security expert Kathryn Irish can't believe her latest job is in one of her ex-boyfriend Daniel MacArthur's buildings, and of course she runs into him in the lobby because that's not at all embarrassing. Billionaire with no known occupation (okay there might have been but I can't recall how he earned his billions) Daniel doesn't know what went wrong between him and Kathryn but now they've been thrown together he's going to do everything in his power to keep her in his life.
I started this novella totally enthralled by the STEM heroine with a job to do, totally professional and living her best life. Daniel was also a great hero, okay he ticks a lot of obvious romance cliches but hey it's a romance. Unfortunately for me the novella started to go downhill about the halfway mark. First. there was the obligatory love scene which went on and on, or maybe they just did it several times with no plot advancement in between. Even worse, I felt that I had read that same scene, using the same words, in several other Katie Reus novels. Then there was the totally obvious suspense element, it felt like it was thrown in at the last minute and Katie Reus didn't really commit to it, blink and you missed it (if only the same were true of the love scenes - sorry for the mealy-mouthed review but otherwise B&N makes me use asterisks to get reviews through their sensitive sensors).
Full-disclosure, I am not a great fan of Katie Reus' contemporary works, what works well in PNR, which is a bit of an OTT genre, does not translate well (for me) in contemporary romance or romantic suspense. So, you are right, I shouldn't have requested the ARC, I know, but I always hope that one day she'll get it right for me.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This was a fun novella. It was fast paced and a great read! The romance was great and perfectly steamy. I enjoyed meeting the characters and look forward to learning more about them in future books. There was even a little suspense added into it!

Falling for Irish (MacArthur Family, #1) by Katie Reus
This is a great start to a new series by Katie. This Kathryn Irish and Daniel MacArthur's story they are both strong H and h... They have a great hot relationship until she thinks he thinks she is a "gold digger" and she breaks it off. We meet some of their family members so we can wonder whose story will be next. There are plenty of feels in this novella, angst, heartbreak, laughs, tears, mystery, a villain or two, and plenty of steamy stuff to get us to a very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Entertaining Great world building Page-turner Action-packed Tear-jerker Steamy Wonderful characters Easy-to-read Happily Ever After Romantic Funny Scary
Falling for Irish by K. Reus, published by KR Press LLC, is book one in her MacArthur Family series and can easily be read as a stand-alone.
Kathryn Irish is a strong heroine. But when her job puts her together with her ex-boyfriend, Daniel.
Daniel McArthur made a big mistake by letting Kathryn leave and he's determined to win her back.
FfI is a fast paced, action packed story that had me in suspense from start till the last page. A great read, 4 stars.
I enjoyed this story and thought it was a great kick-off to a new series. The author does a nice job of creating a connection with and between the characters--an aspect that I often find lacking in novellas. I liked both Kathryn and Daniel, and I was rooting for their HEA. It is fairly obvious who the "bad guy" is, but I don't think the author was trying to conceal it--the suspense was in whether the characters would figure it out. We also get to meet the other MacArthurs, and I'm looking forward to reading their stories as well. I really like reading novellas when they are done well, and this one certainly was.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing an ARC for review.
A fun quick second chance love story with fantastic characters, overprotective brothers and a tale of deceits and miscommunication. I will definitely read more from the series
Falling for Irish is an enjoyable, quick read. This book is in first person, which is not my favorite as I like to know what is going on in the mind of the hero at least some of the time. Also, I admit also that I figured out exactly what happened early on, so not really much suspense for me. I'm give 3.75 star rounding to 4.
4.5 stars.
I really enjoyed this second chance at love story with some romantic suspense thrown in to the mix. It's a novella so it's a quick read but that doesn't mean it is missing anything. I would have loved if it was longer though; I would never say no to that. Katie Reus has come up with what looks to be another wonderful series. Daniel and Kathryn's characters are very likable and I found myself hoping she would give him another chance right off the bat. They clearly have chemistry in abundance so it was wonderful to see them be able to get back what they had lost. They sure do steam it up when they are together and are so good together. I love that they have such an easy way about them as a couple, but there are forces determined to not make this so easy for them and that's when things get a little dicey. Luckily they get some help from their families.
I look forward to more in this series and more of the MacArthurs.
