Annie Mahle has created a cookbook for everyone with small kitchens who love to cook. She’s been working with tiny kitchens for years and is our guide for what we’ll need and some recipes to make in those kitchens. Mahle gives us storage space ideas and also a guide to what tools we need to make the recipes. Her recipe ideas include one-pan ideas, or one-bowl ideas. And don’t forget the dessert can go in a mug. Alongside the recipes she includes tips on pickling, how to poach an egg, and several other tips. Great for people who like cooking, but don’t always have the big kitchen.

Very beautiful cookbook.
It has great ideas and ideas on how to be organized and some recipes that are well written and easy to follow.
If you are in search of some nice, simple recipes, this book is a great one.

This lovely cookbook is filled with practical hints for cooking in tight spaces, something I appreciate for cooking in my studio. However, the recipes themselves were more complicated that I wanted to tackle. The other problem is they often called for ingredients I can't find when I'm living overseas. So, not the cookbook for me, but one I will recommend to friends who love to cook.

The Tiny Kitchen Cookbook by Annie Mahle is great not only for tiny kitchens, but those who prefer a minimalist style and having only the essential tools needed for making cooking efficient and easy. Lots of full color photos.

A really great book with lots of interesting recipes and also advice in how to make the most with the little space you have in your kitchen.

For anyone who is dealing with a small kitchen or limited space, The Tiny Kitchen Cookbook is a perfect fit. Even if you’re lucky to have room for a variety of appliances and equipment, this book will still give you some hints on how to eliminate the excess and make your kitchen more efficient. It made me re-think how I’ve been using my kitchen and how I can pare down the amount of “stuff” I have.
In addition, there are recipes for every meal of the day as well as hints for hosting a dinner party with limited available space. The recipes are relatively simple although some of the ingredients are not always a staple in most kitchens. Nevertheless, there are definitely some that I’d like to try.
The Tiny Kitchen Cookbook is somewhat unique in that it addresses the issues that can plaque small kitchen users. However, at the same time, even those who have larger kitchens can benefit from it too. I enjoyed paging through this delightful and thoughtfully written book.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book for review.

This is very much a niche publication that's also a giant contradiction. On the one hand, anyone living in a very small space likely has already developed strategies for how to use it. And, lots of us learned how to shop the pantry during the pandemic even if we didn't already. On the other, there are some very interesting recipes but they presume a certain amount of kitchen familiarity. This isn't about scaling down recipes but about creating regular size meals using fewer items. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Cookbook fans who like photos should know there aren't as many as you might want and that this might be better in hard copy than in ebook.

I love the premise of tiny kitchens! The setup and strategies tips on cooking tools, work space, and meal planning were my favorite part of the book. I also liked the suggestions for transforming leftovers. There are several recipes I'm interested in trying, especially the vegetarian options. Beautiful photos.

Really focused on the small kitchen.. The lists of required equipment/supplies are immensely helpful. Nice photographs. A good resource for those downsizing to really evaluate what they need and what is superfluous.

Although I enjoyed this book as i do in fact have a tiny kitchen. I found the lack of pictures a little annoying. Also, it was American measurement which is different to the UK.
In my opinion the book is split in half. The first part i really enjoyed. It had some great tips and ideas.
The second part lacked pictures so I'm not sure if anything will come out right.
But I will add.... the desserts in a mug were a huge hit.
Enjoy!

An excellent recipe book for several reasons; I have always preferred small kitchens as I tend to be a messy, untidy cook. Why use only one pot when you could use 5? A small kitchen keeps me organised and forces me to tidy as I go. So I found so many of the tips on storage and workflow to be intelligent. Having read this book and the advice, I’ve been ruthless in reorganising my cupboards and pantries. I’ve set up a strict protocol: if a new utensil comes into the kitchen, I remove an item to keep the storage lean and efficient.
The recipes were fresh, tasty and easy to prepare. One or two recipes were standouts and are now on my regular meal plans. Most notably, Garlicky Shrimps (prawns) with Garlic chips. Also, Asparagus and Tomato Gratin… What’s not to love? Asparagus, Tomato’s cheese and panko bread crumb.
The Tiny Kitchen cookbook was full of smart ideas: how to toast bread in a pan and recycle compost. Suggestions for entertaining in a tight space. The tips were endless.
This book would be the perfect gift for someone leaving home to start university. Small kitchens and limited storage options are the way of so many live in accommodation. It would also be an excellent book for someone setting up their kitchen for the first time if their kitchen space was limited.
This is an ARC review available through NetGalley, and my opinions are honest. I love this book.

The explanation of which kitchen tools are essential and how to repurpose leftovers is helpful. The pictures are great and the recipes look tasty. I really like the concept of the book--it is perfect for people living in small apartments.

I both enjoyed and appreciated all the valuable tips and tricks such as hang things underneath the cabinets, nest all pots and pans, or better yet, get them with removable handles, store certain items, such as sheet pans, vertically, the list goes on. The biggest takeaway is to get kitchen appliances to have multiple usages out of them. For anyone with a truly small kitchen such as a galley kitchen, this would be very helpful.
I also appreciate the included recipes but, to be honest, I don’t personally foresee myself making these recipes but it is nice to have them included.
I thank NetGalley for an ARC, as well as the author, Annie Mahle. My library is now ordering it.

I am on the fence about this one. The first section about kitchen necessities and space saving tips was amazing. It was chock full of tricks for maximizing your tiny kitchen, including ways to utilize every inch of vertical space. It was great. Then you get into the rest of the book which promises to be more of the same, teaching you how to maximize your tiny kitchen’s potential. But then it gives these recipes with things like “use a Tbs of pomegranate molasses”. And then store the rest in your tiny pantry? The recipes just don’t add up with the rest of the message of the book, and it is disappointing. It is also not very economical, which is kind of weird because there is a good chance you don’t have a tiny kitchen because you like the aesthetic…
I received an ARC, but my opinions are all mine.
I

Gorgeous photography, and super practical advice for anyone who loves to cook, but is limited by space…….
First half talks about about everything from how to arrange a teeny kitchen to making the most of your space, how to shop (without waste), useful storage ideas and also ideas on how to use up surplus ingredients and leftovers. I really loved this anti-waste attitude.
Second part is mostly simple, but always flavorful recipes, focusing on fresh ingredients, limited pot and tool usage, and simple prep. I’ve seen some reviews saying that “there is no way I would cook something that fancy in my boat/camper/rv kitchen”…. but I almost feel like that’s missing the point. This is a book for those who want to REALLY cook, as the title says, AMAZING food, and don’t want to abandon their passion for cooking when faced with a small space.
Loved it.

I too have a tiny kitchen. My countertop can be measured in inches not feet. It's challenging for sure, but as this book proves, one can still turn out delicious meals. Lots of helpful hints and tips to be had here.

Brilliant book for working in a limited space. I am one of the tiny kitchens crew and found this inspirational!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this book in exchange for my feedback.

The Tiny Kitchen cookbook by Annie Mahle is the perfect cookbook for anyone who cooks in a small kitchen. I could see her cookbook as the perfect housewarming gift for someone who moves into a Tiny House. Why? The author gives plenty of tips on how to organize and cook in a small kitchen. Something she should know something about as she cooks in a tiny schooner galley on a regular basis.
Most of her recipes are portioned for two and require little cooking equipment. Some of the recipes you'll find include:
Grown-Up Cream of Mushroom Toast
Bacon and Sage Beef Stew
Caramelized Shallot, Spinach and Comte Tart
Recommend.
Review written after downloading a galley from NetGalley.

The Tiny Kitchen Cookbook is much more than a cookbook! There are awesome recipes, of course! Annie Mahle’s practical advice and encouragement about cooking in a tiny kitchen can be adapted to working in any sized kitchen. Dual-purpose pots and cooking tools are super handy. Planning recipes and ingredients is also important, but so is being flexible in utilizing ingredients on hand and incorporating leftovers into other dishes. Annie also encourages you to create your own combinations, such as in the Cranberry Apple Grunt recipe. My combination is going to be blueberries and peaches. I’m excited to get started!

Whether home is a small apartment, a tiny house or RV, a boat, or a college dorm room, space in the kitchen is nearly always at a premium. But cooking in a small kitchen, with minimal equipment, doesn't have to be limiting; it can actually be is a great opportunity to hone food-prep skills and become a more efficient, versatile home chef. And the smarter the workspace, the easier it is to cook. In The Tiny Kitchen Cookbook, chef Annie Mahle shares her small-space cooking strategies and 50 of her favorite recipes she’s developed as the galley chef aboard the J&E Riggin, a windjammer she operates with her husband every summer off the coast of Maine. From her 6-by-8-foot kitchen, she prepares three beautiful, flavorful meals from scratch every day, for up to 30 people. Along with gorgeous recipes Mahle delivers tips and techniques for making the most of a small kitchen. Strategies such as “shopping” the pantry before going to the store, transforming leftovers into new meals, create vertical storage options, and buy utensils that nest all help create meals with maximum flavor in minimal space.
I have a small kitchen, but not this small. It was interesting to read the author's strategies for space and item use. I, too, appreciate items that can be multifunction. Recommended for those with small kitchens who need some help with organization and want some new small batch recipes.
